The @OfficialPDPNig totally and vehemently rejects contemplations by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) @inecnigeria to accommodate the All Progressives Congress (APC) @OfficialAPCNg in the general elections in Rivers state.

PDP’s position is predicated on the compromising suggestion by @inecnigeria, through Mr. Festus Okoye, that certain circumstances could lead to the postponement of election, in Rivers State, to accommodate the APC, which currently do not have candidates in the elections

Such suggestion by @inecnigeria is distasteful and only points to a collusion with the @OfficialAPCNg in its plot to stalemate electoral processes in some strategic states, in order to postpone elections in such states and use compromised security forces to effect massive rigging

Currently, the @OfficialAPCNg is not on the ballot and has no candidates for the governorship, Senatorial, House of Representatives and State Assembly elections in Rivers and Zamfara states following the voiding of the APC congresses in these states by the court.

In line with this reality, the ballot paper in all elections in Rivers and Zamfara states must, under no circumstance, bear the logo of the @OfficialAPCNg

The @OfficialPDPNig insists that @inecnigeria must base all its actions and contemplations for the elections on this reality and should under no circumstance predicate any action on a hypothetical condition.

Unlike the @OfficialAPCNg, our party is fully prepared for the elections and will never allow the APC and some compromised @inecnigeria officials to manipulate the elections, just because the APC has seen that it has no chance of winning.

The People's Democratic Party (PDP), said President Buhari and APC are jittery over Atiku’s soaring popularity ahead of the general elections. The party made the statement while responding to alleged planned questioning of his presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar by Federal Government over the liquidation of Bank PHB.

“President Buhari’s heinous plot to frame the PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku , is laughable and out of fear that Atiku is already coasting to victory in the February 16 Presidential election.”

“While we understand that President Buhari and his dysfunctional APC are jittery over Atiku’s soaring popularity ahead of the elections, it is reprehensible that Mr. President will descend abysmally low to fabricate outright lies and falsehood against Atiku.

“For emphasis, even the Chairman of President Buhari’s Advisory Committee Against Corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay, had since told the world that the Buhari Presidency has searched everywhere and could not find anything incriminating on Atiku.

“The PDP PCO makes bold to state that Atiku has nothing to do with the alleged issues leading to the collapse of Bank PHB. Atiku is an honest and hard working man who has no skeleton of any sort in his cupboard, unlike Buhari, with series of corruption allegations.”

“If anything, the PPCO will want President Buhari to open the books and provide explanation for the N9 trillion stolen under his watch as Minister of Petroleum Resources as detailed in the leaked NNPC memo.”

“Finally, the PDP PCO, our Presidential candidate, Atiku , our great party and indeed all Nigerians, who have already reached a national consensus to vote-in Atiku as the next President of our country, will not be distracted by this unfounded allegations.”

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has said Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is economical with the truth when he stated that President Buhari was not aware of the plans by the Executive arm to arraign the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen.


The party also said, Prof Osinbajo should know that Nigerians are aware that there is no way such high level decision, like the arraignment of the Chief Justice of Nigeria in a court, would be taken without the awareness, input and clearance of President Buhari.


“We reject the claims that Buhari only got to know about the plans on Saturday the Federal Government was saddened by the development. We however challenge Prof Osinbajo to explain why Mr. President did not stop the arraignment on Monday or said anything on the matter since then.”


“However, if the avowal by Vice President Prof Osinbajo was true, then it goes to confirm the assertion that President Buhari is not in charge of governance but has outsourced the responsibilities of his office to unelected individuals due to his incompetence.”

“Vice President Prof Osinbajo’s assertion has also confirmed the claims by our First Lady, Aisha Buhari that a cabal has taken over the control of the Presidency, for which she forcefully called on Nigerians to take back their country.”
