The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has begun the biometric verification of the 1.8 candidates who sat for this year’s unified tertiary matriculation examination. This exercise is responsible for the delay in releasing the UTME results conducted from April 11 to April 18. The board has already carried out biometric verification of candidates in 31 states, and is presently verifying those of candidates from six other states. JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, disclosed this yesterday in Abuja. He said the board was cross-checking everything pertaining to the conduct of the examination, including fingerprints of candidates. Prof. Oloyede, who did not list the states where the biometric verification of candidates has been concluded, said: “We are cross-checking everything, including fingers. If you know that you have about 1.8 candidates multiplied by ten that is the finger we are talking about.” “If you are very close to National Identity Card Management Commission (NIMC), ask them what it takes to analyse finger prints in terms of period. “We are combining 1.8 million ten fingers with one another to be sure that we identify people who combine fingers and so on. That is where we are now. “We have done all other and now we have about six states to go. As I speak with you I am at a retreat with those who are doing it. We have about six states to go. We have done 31 states and six states are still not completed now.” When asked concerning the release of the results, the registrar said: “I don’t know but it will be very soon. As soon as we complete what we are doing.” The registrar denied reports that the board may cancel half of the results of states found to have been involved in malpractice during the examination. When asked which state was affected most by malpractice this year, he said: “I don’t know. I cannot say which state because I don’t know. It is not just issue of malpractice.” Oloyede said there was nothing wrong with the board’s server, adding that the board was cleaning up the rot in the education system. He said: “There is no problem at all but everything must be done thoroughly and that is what we are doing. There is no problem. All the rumour about problem is a lie and I would not tell a whole nation what is not true. I can’t put my integrity on line. There is no problem at all. “We are doing what we set to do and it is a scientific thing and there is no way I can expedite it beyond this. I t is taking human and material resources but we must do it. Somebody must standup against this rot. That’s all.” Oloyede also said the board would probe alleged involvement of some of its staff who connived with some computer based test centre operators to perpetrate malpractice during the examination. The registrar said: “Where staff members are identified to have been involved, if there are reported cases, we will investigate. There are one or two cases that are very obvious and we are taking action because as we appoint our staff and other ad-hoc, we appointed some eminent Nigerians to monitor the monitors and we have analysed their reports. “Where an ad hoc or permanent staff is alleged to have done what he or she is not supposed to do we will take the normal process and procedure.” https://theblogngr.com/2019/05/jamb-begins-biometric-verification-of-candidates.html |
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has disclosed that, many Nigerians would be shocked by the outcome of its probe into examination fraud between 2009-2019. JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, disclosed this at the Nigerian Academy of Education under the topic, “Admissions into tertiary educational institutions in Nigeria” on Friday May 3. According to him “the board has discovered that some prominent Nigerians occupying high positions in the society today did not take its examination themselves.” He also said that although the board may not be able to punish these persons because they had already left the system, but it would go ahead to publish their names to shame them. He added, “If I were to be punishing every staff of JAMB that is committing infractions, I will not focus on the assignment. ALSO READ: JAMB APPOINT SAN TO PROSECUTE 100 PERSONS “I will be going from one disciplinary committee to the other and my attention will be diverted. “And that is why I go for the shortest route; once you are caught to have committed one infraction, you will not be assigned with examination duties again. “It is a privilege, which I can withdraw. If you are that bad that I don’t want to see your face around me, I will transfer you to another place. “If we have to take disciplinary action against all of them; look at it, today we have 100 people not less than 100 in police cells across the country who were caught for examination malpractices. “I have appointed a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, who is a former Solicitor-General to help me oversee all these so that the suspects can be brought to book. “And my Director of Legal asked me, what offences should we charge these people for; for multiple registrations? And I said why can’t we go to the Examination Malpractice Act? “So, my problem has started by having to draft the charges, despite the fact that we have evidences against them. That is the beginning of the problem. “I will now ask to be paying my staff to travel out of Abuja to be testifying in court as they are adjourning month after month the cases and we will be wasting money and time on transport. “So even now, what we have seen, I tell people that I am more tolerant of corruption in JAMB than when I was as a vice-chancellor at the University of Ilorin.” According to the Professor, the board has de-listed no fewer than 76 Computer-Based Test Centres for various infractions in the recently concluded unified tertiary matriculation examination. https://theblogngr.com/2019/05/nigerians-will-be-shock-to-see-names-of-politicians-who-didnt-not-write-jamb-jamb-registrar.html |

Speaking through his tweet handler, the Senator said we should trend carefully for us not to reignite Nigeria Cameroon frosty historical issues, so that the Cameroonians not to renew claims to our lands. “Be cautious in your politics not to reignite Nigeria Cameroun frosty historical issues,so that they don’t renew claims to the old Sardauna province and then we will end up loosing a potion of our northern territory like the Bakassi.” He said. Home » News • Politics » Nigerians Reacts to APC Allegations That Atiku Is Not A Nigerian. Nigerians Reacts to APC Allegations That Atiku Is Not A Nigerian. Nigerians Reacts to Allegations APC That Atiku Is Not A Nigerian. Nigerians on social media have reacted to All Progressive Congress (APC) allegations that the People’s Democratic Party, Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar is not a Nigerian. Atiku Abubakar and PDP are challenging the declaration of President Buhari as winner of the 2019 presidential election by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The All Progressive Congress, APC in its responses to Atiku Abubakar’s petition at the tribunal, challenged Atiku’s eligibility to contest for the position of Nigeria President on the ground of place of birth. We recalled early this year, weeks before the presidential election, that the IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kalu, making some allegations that Atiku Abubakar was not originally from Nigeria until a referendum was conducted in South Cameroon in 1963 that brought them into Nigeria. See some of the reactions from Twitter. @Ogundamisi Lawyer or Comedian? A Vice @NGRPresident for 8 years is not a Nigerian? APC shouldn’t join the silly antics of questioning the Nationality of a Nigerian for political reasons, leave that to bigots. Not funny @atiku not Nigerian by birth, APC tells tribunal @donpanacio Atiku being a Vice President for 8 years doesn’t make him a Nigerian! It means no one ever bothered to check! This is the first time Nigeria is witnessing serious opposition so expect to see some revelations which nobody ever bothered to looked into @nytade Its a Legal argument, it doesn’t have to make a logical sense. Where we borrow our “democracy”, John McCain,Ted Cruz & Barack Obama all had their citizenship questioned on the basis of where they were born. @SusanHenshaw I’m surprised that some who thought PMB was cloned are finding it hard to believe Atiku may not be Nigerian. Sometimes ridiculousness is made bare in the oddest ways @Adewale02390107 Don’t be in hurry to condemn APC,PDP equally made PMB’s certificate an issue in their petition, didnt Buhari rule and got to the rank of general? They should not monopolise madness, this was how you were quick to condemn Ganduje and Buachi was voting an accused already in court. The foremost pan Isoko pressure group, Isoko Equity Group, IEG, has called on President Buhari led federal government to take into cognizance the appointment of an Isoko indigent into his ministerial cabinet in the incoming dispensation. Speaking with journalists at the Isoko Equity Group, IEG, national secretariat, the convener of the group and a stalwart of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Hon (Barr) Silas Bouwe decried the extent of marginalization of Isoko nation by subsequent governments from the inception of our nascent democracy right from the regime of forimer President Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999 to present outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari’s 2015 administration. Painstakingly, other ethnic groups in delta state have benefited immensely through various degrees of juicy federal appointments despite their sparse contributions to the nation’s coffers but Isoko is yet to feel the huge presence of the federal government as a reward for being nonviolent, protective of her oil installation and law abiding. Never a time has Isoko being found wanting in pipeline vandalism to disrupt the production output of the nation. “The time for us as an ethnic nation to reap our reward in due diligence to the course of nation building on the platform on all inclusiveness, equitable development and fairness has finally come and I know the President will harken to the voice of the marginalized and do justice to our people on the appointment of her sons into ministerial positions and other juicy federal government parastatals.” “We have written a letter to the President which has been circulated in various media houses to remind him of his promise to our people when the leadership Isoko Development Union, IDU, and traditional rulers paid him a courtesy visit at the State House, Abuja. I know as a listening President who said on assumption of office in 2015, ‘I belong to nobody and to everybody’, he will judiciously correct this anomaly and marginalization the Isokos have overtime being melted with by subsequent governments”, Silas said. LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT March 20, 2019 H.E Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR President Federal Republic of Nigeria Aso Rock Villa Abuja Your Excellency, PASSIONATE APPEAL TO APPOINT AN ISOKO MAN AS MINISTER OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA 1. Permit us first to congratulate you on your emphatic victory at the polls. Your renewed pan-Nigerian mandate is a testament to the appreciation of your famed integrity, fairness and equitableness in dealing with issues of State by the electorate. It is our strong conviction that your second tenure will offer you the opportunity to consolidate on your numerous remarkable achievements as well as to right some wrongs which time and perhaps oversight, didn’t allow you to address in your first tenure. One of such anomalies is the inexplicable marginalization of the Isoko people by successive Federal administrations in appointment into key positions and provision of big-ticket infrastructure. ____________________________________________________________ 231 Ogbemudia Rd Opposite Delta Line Park Oleh, Delta State. 0806 785 6938, 0703-274-8369 dofan1996@yahoo.com 2. Other than the ramshackle police stations and electricity poles and cables that deliver epileptic power, there is no Federal government presence throughout the Isoko Federal Constituency. This, undoubtedly, is gross injustice, unfairness and inequity to an area that has helped to sustain the Federal economy through its oil production that started way back in 1958 at Uzere; the second place oil was discovered and produced in commercial quantity in Nigeria after Oloibiri. Since then our oil fields have remained among the largest on-shore producers in the country. 3. For this reason in particular, Mr. President, the Isoko Equity Group, made up mainly of top APC leaders in Isoko nation, are persuaded, with all humility, that for the sake of equity, fairness and inclusiveness, which you have always preached, the next Minister from Delta State should be appointed from amongst the Isoko people 4. OML 30 to which Isoko belongs produces an average of 80,000 – 90,000bpd. Out of this quantity, Isoko contributes 65% of the production. This means that Isoko produces between 52,000 – 58,500bpd from OML 30. If OML 26 production of 15,000bpd, which is also in Isoko, is added, it brings production from Isoko to an average of 76,000bpd. Irri oilfields which are grouped with Okpai in Ndokwa East and operated by AGIP, produces an average of 25,000bpd. This brings total production from Isoko oil fields to an average of 100,000bpd. What a humongous contribution to the oil wealth of our country which accounts for over 90 percent of her foreign earnings. Additionally, there are 8 flare sites across Isoko land. Our people have over the years paid a heavy price with their health and ecosystems because of their very hazardous impact. Indeed, these activities have been implicated in the extensive destruction of our natural environment and the pervasive prevalence of a variety of ailments such as cancer and neurological disorders which were once alien to the Isoko Nation. The abject poverty and squalor conspicuously evident in our fatherland, which has been producing crude oil for over 60 years, to oil the wheel of development in Nigeria, is tears-inducing. 5. Lack of Equity and Fairness in Appointment of Ministers from Delta State: Since the advent of democracy in 1999, all other ethnic groups in Delta State have had Ministers, some several times over. But no Isoko man has been appointed Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. In fact, this has been the case since 1973. What a shame! a. For the avoidance of doubt, in 1999, President Obasanjo appointed Mr. Chris Agbobu from Anioma as Minister of State for Agriculture and Dr.(Mrs) Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as a two-time Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy. The current Minister of State, Ministry of Petroleum Resources is also from Anioma. This is in addition to the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria who hails from the same Anioma axis of the State. b. Urhobo has had three Ministers since 1999. These include Mrs. Grace Ekpigwhre, Minister of Science & Technology; Dr. Stephen Oru, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and Chief Kenneth Gbagi, Minister of State for Education. c. Itsekiri has had Dr. Roland Oritsejafor as Minister of State for Defense d. Ijaw has had Alaowei Broderick Bozimo as a Minister of Police Affairs and Elder Godsday Orubebe as Minister of Niger Delta Affairs. Of the three distinct ethnic groups that constitute Delta South Senatorial District, only Isoko has not been given a ministerial appointment. If population is a factor in appointing Ministers, then Isoko should have had it before our Itsekiri and Ijaw ethnic neighbors. Reason: Isoko is more populous than any of them. 6. Isoko is an oil-producing area like no other – peaceful, nonviolent a. Your Excellency, unlike the youths of other oil producing areas in the Niger Delta who, from time to time, give vent to their frustration by resorting to vandalizing pipelines or blowing up oil facilities as well as disruption of oil production and kidnapping of oil workers for ransom, Isoko leaders have consistently reined in their youths to maturely manage their resentment without resort to militancy. Because of being nonviolent, they were excluded from the Presidential Amnesty Programme for Niger Delta youths. What an expensive price to pay for being nonviolent! b. In a nutshell, Your Excellency, in 60 years history of oil exploration in Isoko, there has never been a single incident of kidnapping of oil workers, blowing of oil pipelines or bombing of oil facilities to sabotage the government and economy as it is the common practice in many other oil-producing areas in the Niger Delta. We trust that your government will not reward criminality in preference to non violence. c. Mr. President, your appointment of an Isoko son as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria will be a garland for our youths and our people who have kept faith with your government as evident in delivering over 30 percent of the entire votes cast in our area to you in the just concluded Presidential elections. You will by such appointment, reward and reinforce the good behavior of the Isoko people. 7. Your Excellency, our hopes and aspirations are buoyed by your recent reassurance that you will base appointment of new ministers on merit and national spread, with a view to giving every part of the country a sense of belonging. Indeed, we are relieved. Isoko hasn’t been a Minister for over forty-five years , the only ethnic group in Delta that has been so oppressed and marginalized. Permit us, Your Excellency, to mention the obvious: Isoko has a glut of men and women in our Party, (APC) who are eminently qualified to be appointed as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria – chartered accountants, lawyers, seasoned journalists, doctors, engineers, university dons, architects, seasoned public servants, etc. 8. a. Your Excellency, you have been quoted severally to have said that power comes from God. This statement is incontrovertible. It is our strong belief therefore, that God set you on the Nigerian ‘throne’ to right the wrongs in Nigeria. It is our hope and prayer that you will put an end to the age-long ill-treatment of the Isoko people by successive Federal administrations. b. Your Excellency, Sir, kindly use this Open Letter by Isoko Equity Group to prove to all and sundry, particularly Niger Deltans, that constructive engagement is more effective and results-oriented than self-help or taking up arms against the government and ones own country. 9. While we eagerly await your positive consideration of our humble appeal, please accept the assurances of our highest esteem. Yours faithfully, For: ISOKO EQUITY GROUP https://theblogngr.com/2019/04/12/isoko-group-demands-for-ministerial-position-for-fairness-and-equity-in-delta-state/

President Buhari, has reacted to rumours of him not showing any concern to the killings in Zamfara. The president statement came after yesterday protest in Abuja over the killings in Zamfara by arm bandits. The protest has generated so much criticism from Nigerians, who felt the State Governor and Mr. President have shown little or no concern to the situation in the state. The statement was obtained by our correspondent. According to President Buhari, “It is ridiculous and unfair to suggest that I am not concerned about the situation in Zamfara, or doing anything about it. Ensuring the protection of the people of Nigeria is one of my primary responsibilities and functions. No other issue dominates my attention as much.” “We are fully determined to tackle this challenge ferociously until these remorseless killers are crushed and utterly defeated. We have deployed security agents to all the areas currently under attack, and we are constantly fine-tuning and escalating our security strategy.” “I am constantly in touch with the security chiefs, and receive regular briefings on the situation in Zamfara and across the country. Let me assure that we will continue to do everything to motivate and equip them to respond effectively to all our security challenges.” “Operation Sharan Daji, and the newly-launched Operation Puff Adder are focused on Zamfara, Kaduna (including the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway), Katsina, Kogi, and Niger States. These are all multi-agency Operations, bringing together the Military, Police, the DSS, and others.” “I want to appeal to Nigerians that we should not politicize this tragic situation in Zamfara. How can I be indifferent to the senseless killings and kidnapping of my fellow citizens by bandits, and the deep trauma and impoverishment that these attacks inflict on them?” “Let me again offer our deepest condolences to all the victims and their families and loved ones. We feel your pains, and there is nothing more important to me at this time than ensuring that these bandits and criminals are completely neutralized.” Nigerians are hoping on Mr. President to find a lasting solution to the killings in the state, for the country not to experience other up spring of terrorism. https://theblogngr.com/2019/04/07/zamfara-it-ridiculous-and-unfair-to-say-i-am-not-concerned-buhari/ |
The former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has indirectly rain strong words on Rotimi Amaechi over the conduct of the Minister of Transportation in the just concluded Rivers State election. Now that he has been disgraced in his Rivers state how does the frog-eyed, pot bellied Creek Haramite feel? The truth is that he was never fit for power in the first place because he was born in the gutter. He crawled out of that gutter but the gutter never crawled our of him. His houseboy background has always haunted him and he has no class or character. All the virtues in God's heaven and on earth are alien to him and he cannot possibly comprehend them let alone espouse or imbibe them. That is why he has always behaved like an animal. A creature from hell that orchestrated the arrest, detention and murder of hundreds of his own Rivers people by outsiders in a futile attempt to win power in Port Harcourt and capture the state is not worthy of public office, honor, deceny or respect. He and his ilk are a sad reflection of what politics and politicians have turned into in Nigeria.I wouldn't put him in charge of my dog kennels or horse stables let alone a Fed. Min. or a state. They took the beast out of the bush but they couldn't take the bush out of the beast. When a pig wears lipstick it still remains a pig and it still stinks to high heavens. When u put a dog in a palace it still remains a dog and it will shit on the rug. That is what this Haramite is:a beast in the bush,a pig wearing lipstick and a dog in a palace all rolled intoone. May God judge him for his psychotic barbarism and compulsive wickedness and may he pay a terrible price for his sociopathic disposition and vile inclinations both in this world and in the world to come. The blood of those that were killed in Rivers state will haunt him forever. He said. https://theblogngr.com/2019/04/06/he-was-born-in-the-gutter-but-gutter-never-crawled-out-of-him-ffk-refers-to-amaechi/
