The police division in Okpanam community, Delta State has arrested six suspected ritualists with 200 female pants in the area.


The Acting Police Public Relations Officer in the State, ASP Chucks Orisewezie, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects, told newsmen in Asaba that they include: Chucks Okolie, Francis Ogbereh, Collins Ederah, Felix Nnamdi, Goodluck John, and Steve Akpokona.

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the heavy deployment of security to Senate President, Saraki home state Kwara State. The party made the condemnation in a statement signed by it Publicity Secretary. Read below.


The attention of the PDP has been drawn to the heavy deployment of top security chiefs to Kwara State, the home state of the Senate President and Director General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Bukola Saraki, ahead of the general elections.

This is part of the plot by the APC -led Federal Government to intimidate, harass, create fears in the minds of voters and rig elections in the state.

As part of the plot, the DSS has deployed its Director of Operations, Etteng Bassey, as well as the State Directors in charge of Ogun and Anambra States to Kwara State ahead of Saturday’s elections while the Director in charge of Kwara State has been moved to Benue.

This is in addition to the deployment of hundreds of other DSS operatives from Abuja to Kwara state. We also have it on good authority that soldiers will from tomorrow cordon off all entry points to the personal house of Senator President in Ilorin and his late father’s compound in Ilofa.


Similarly, the Nigerian Police have made heavy deployment of officers and men from its headquarters in Abuja to Ilorin, Kwara state capital, where they have been instructed to arrest key political players loyal to Senator Bukola Saraki

The PDP however notes that these vicious plots by the APC and the Buhari Presidency will come to naught, as Nigerians are ready to confront all aggressions and vote them out at the general elections.

The party also said, Fresh facts available to them have shown that the failed and dysfunctional APC is responsible for the burning of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) offices in various parts of the country.

“The PDP already has the details of how the APC mobilized misguided elements in its fold to burn INEC offices and destroy electoral materials and equipment in Plateau, Abia and Anambra states.”

“Our party is also privy to clandestine plots by the APC to burn INEC offices in some other states, so as to paralyze the commission’s operations in such states, and pave the way for the isolation and postponement of Presidential elections in those states.”

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has urged Nigerians, who are yet to collect their PVC to take advantage of the extension of deadline for collection by the INEC to get their cards ahead of next Saturday’s crucial Presidential election.


The party also cautions INEC field officers not to pitch themselves against Nigerians with any action that could portray them as deliberately refusing to issue the PVCs to registered voters.

The People's Democratic Party PDP, has told Kaduna State governor El-rufai to channel his frustration to President Buhari, who he aptly described as an incompetent, old fashioned, corrupt, insensitive, parochial and tyrannical leader, who should not be voted into office.


It is quite revealing that elrufai, who exposed Gen. Buhari in 2010 as ‘unelectable’ is now prancing about in defence of Buhari’s incompetent and anti-democratic administration, to the extent of issuing death threats to others, just to secure his place under a dictatorial regime.

Governor el-rufai had in 2010 described Gen. Buhari as ill- equipped for modern day governance. He berated Gen. Buhari of lacking capacity to comprehend current trends, to the extent that he would think that a “blackberry was a fruit”.

It has been an interesting one week since I made the tough but necessary decision to suspend my campaign for the presidency. I have been truly overwhelmed by the reactions to my announcement from Nigerians.

Even in airports outside the country as I travelled last week, Nigerians walked up to me with questions, concerns, encouragement, and motivation.

I also saw disappointment by some who had poured their hearts and hopes into actualising our mission to #Fight4Naija, bring back hope to our land and lift 80 million fellow citizens out of extreme poverty.

We adopted a decentralized messaging strategy for maximum reach and impact. Our campaign was also appreciated by citizens for being empowering of the voters in contrast to the traditional campaigns that rob the largely poor electorate of their dignity.

I have never been one to go into a new venture without first measuring the odds, counting the cost or taking stock. My candidacy was no different.

Even though I was the latest to throw my hat in the ring, the campaign was not slack because we believed in the power of Nigerians to take their destiny in their own hands.

It was a testament to our hard work in such a short time that whenever top candidates in the race were mentioned, my candidacy was always highlighted after those of the two-in-one dominant parties which make up the old political class in the country.

We took our hopeful message to at least 15 states and created a unique retail driven campaign that resonated with Nigerians.

I just heard President Buhari speaking Hausa on NTA news, I thought he was Jubril from Sudan?

President Buhari should stop fixating over the non-existent five million votes that was promised him by the Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State as such is completely illusionary.


If indeed President Buhari is committed to free and fair polls as he claims, he ought to have cautioned Gov Ganduje to stop making vain promises because the total numbers of voters registered in Kano is not more than 5.5 million.

This promise is being made even in the scenario where President Buhari has since lost the support of the people of Kano state following his failure to fulfill even the littlest of the litany of promises he made to them during the 2015 campaigns.

President Buhari must have received a shock of his life when he realized that his party, the APC had to rent a crowd from neighbouring Niger Republic to populate his rally in Kano on Thursday after the planners could not mobilize enough supporters from Kano to attend.

Nigerians watched in amusement as two state governors and a traditional ruler from Niger Republic, who were contracted to hire and ferry in the aliens, struggled for space with APC leaders at the rally.

Nigerians saw how the crowd, with strange and conflicting colours, could not connect to calls and speeches by APC leaders, but remained uncoordinated and had to be instructed and prodded to respond at the rally.


The world now knows how President Buhari garnered his votes in Kano in 2015 and on what strength his party has been boasting of five million votes in the 2019 elections.

Now that it is clear to all, including Mr. President, that he has lost the support of the people of Kano, we urge the Buhari Presidency & the APC to wake up to the reality & stop deceiving themselves as there is no way foreigners can be allowed to participate in our elections

The People’s Democratic Party PDP has urges all its members, particularly in Ekiti State, not to despair over Monday’s ruling of the Ekiti Governorship election tribunal, which sat in Abuja.


The judgment of the tribunal will surely be overturned at the Court of Appeal and victory handed to the PDP and our candidate, Olusola Eleka, who is the clear winner of the July 14, 2018 Ekiti governorship election.
