While the senate has no authority to bring criminal charges, parallel probes between the legislative arm of government and a law enforcement agency is common practice all over the world. Indeed, these simultaneous inquiries frequently overlap. The legislative arm of government has to monitor, supervise, and review federal agencies, programs, and policy implementation. It serves as a vital check and balance, ensuring the executive branch follows the law, spends taxpayer money properly, and respects legislative intent. This is not the first foray of fulani terrorists in the SW. Some people fled to Benin republic a while ago, they erased some traditional rulers and these were all in the news. Way back in 2019 when fulani terrorists killed the daughter of Fasoranti in Ondo, this same Tinubu went into full denial mode and infamously asked "where are the cows?" Waiting for Tinubu to swing into action now is not realistic. |
