As much as there is a deliberate plan by the executive to uplift the living standards of people across the Nation what saddens my heart is the fact that the Legislative arm of government have not given a thought to deliberately reviewing this outrageous largess they call salaries and emoluments to directly invest in the lives of poor Nigerians for example: Let the National Assembly come on mainstream media to announce to Nigerians that we have thought and deliberated to reduce all our salaries and allowances by more than 50 % so that government can
1. Invest in agriculture revolution across the nation by providing highly specialized mechanized farm equipments with a complete package of trained engineers,drivers,agricultural extension workers etc who shall provide needed resources for farmers and intending farmers across the nation
2. To allow the federal government funds toand accommodate the upward review of salaries and allowances of civil servants across the federation.
3. To allow Nigerian poorest of the poorest children access to QUALITY FREE Education starting from the Primary level.
Etc ...

Until there’s a deliberate plan by this very important arm of government called the Legislature to consciously uplift the living standards of Nigerians we shall continue to have high level of poverty and increasing grand corruption. Lastly, until we have as a people come to know who is representing us at every level of government especially the legislatures to only consist of people with clear conscience and impeccable character then and only then can Nigeria be truly lifted above its current status . I challenge every Senator and Representatives who has occupied office for the past four years and above to come and publish their detailed individual projects and programs for the community they have been representing all this years and let’s see if they can justify that indeed they are “Honourable” as they fondly call themselves while this humble write up is not castigate anyone but to appeal to the conscience of this select few if truly they love Nigeria enough to sacrifice their wealth for the good of all and future of our great Nation. If the Senator pays his media aide 30k why thdiscredit the impact of Npower project of the government that even gives those in the rural areas opportunity to plan their future. I have always said that Nigerian problem started and will likely be solve with a responsible Legislature because there isn’t any moral or legal justification for them earning so much . Imagine the debate back and forth for the implementation of the new minimum wage when if the Legislators can reducet their emoluments by half to afford the government money to pay the new minimum wage and even engage more youth from the NYSC and other sections in the government social investment programs. If this story is true then it’s a shame on all them
