PoliticsChristian community solidly behind President Buhari by kcub(op): 3:20pm On Feb 22, 2019
Buhari Administration remains firmly committed to Leah Sharibu’s release and rescue, says Presidency

Our attention has been drawn to this report on the visit of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, to Yola on Wednesday. The said report is a false narration and account of what actually transpired at the friendly and cordial interaction between the VP, the Adamawa State Governor and the Christian leaders in the State.

On the contrary, the meeting, which was attended by several of Prof. Osinbajo’s personal friends and co-pastors, including those from the Lutheran Church and the EYN, Church of the Brethren, was conducted in a cordial and friendly atmosphere. There was no hostility or tension of any kind.

It is also important to note that there have been previously many of such a meeting between the Vice President and Christian leaders, not only in the State, but across the country before and after the emergence of Prof. Osinbajo as the Vice President.

Regarding Leah Sharibu, the only surviving one of the remaining five Dapchi girls, four of whom died after they were not initially rescued from the abductions, the Buhari Administration remains firmly committed to her release and rescue. We are working hard to secure her freedom and nothing will deter the Federal Government from that objective until Leah is free.

This same Buhari Administration had secured the rescue and release of over 100 Chibok girls after years of abduction. Also, this administration secured the release of 105 Dapchi girls after their abduction on February 19, 2018. Our plan, prayer and hope is that the case of Leah and all others still under captivity would not be different.

Atiku Expressed Disappointment; Says i picked Obi in error.

The people's Democratic Party (PDP) 's presidential candidate in the next Saturday's general election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has expressed disappointment over his decision for picking the former governor of Anambra state, Mr Peter Obi as his running mate

Atiku made the revelation on Monday the 18th of February, 2019 during a PDP caucus meeting held in Abuja.

According to our source, Atiku was quoted to have said that he picked Obi on the ground that the igbos would vote for PDP but the reaction based on the recent elections postponement has shown that Obi may not even deliver his local government to talk of the state.

Atiku however appealed to the PDP's national working committee and other top ranking members of the party to in the interest of party ideology forgive his mistakes and lack of proper consultations while nominating Obi as his running mates.

Recall that Obi 's emergence as the PDP's vice presidential candidate in the 2019 general election has caused an irreparable damage in the party and still create a huge anti party activity within the party's faithfuls.

The proponents of the above view are of the view that Peter Obi is not a member of the PDP and never believed in the party 's manifestos hence the reason his name is not registered in the party ward register in Agulu his home town.

The group therefore wondered how a presidential vice candidate of a noble party like PDP can not have his name registered in his political wards.

Research have indicated that Obi lost in his Agulu ward to APGA in 2017 and up till now there is no conviction that he is going to win his polling booth come Saturday the 23th February, 2019.

Atiku’s Desperation Going Too Far

By Senator Babafemi Ojudu

PDP and Atiku are desperate. Their desperation is however going too far and they are capable of doing anything now .They are resorting to all manners of puerile strategy to win, to get the South West in particular . In conjunction with their foreign allies and consultants and a band of ethnic bigots they are even circulating a fake news that Osinbajo has resigned. It was the same set of people who blamed God for not killing him when his helicopter crashed. They were agog with all manners of inhuman and ungodly postings on social media after the unfortunate incidents. We know them they are king and queens of FAKE NEWS.

PDP and it’s agents have become so irresponsible. They can do anything now, even assassinate Osinbajo to achieve their purpose. But God forbid! They know Yoruba states will be key decider in this election. They are doing everything possible in the South West to cause confusion. They are sending money to pastors ( quote me on this )to tell their congregation that Buhari want to Islamize Nigeria and some pretenders in cassock are doing their biddings. When your pastor or Bishop preaches that Buhari want to Islamize Nigeria ask him or her how much he or she has collected from Atiku and PDP? How I wish the pastors know the source of the money they are collecting from Atiku? We are up to them as we shall continue to expose them.

Trader Moni is vote buying

Trade Moni is a scam
BE ENLIGHTEN BROS

* TraderMoni is for petty traders who are the largest network in commercial value chain yet banks won't give them loan without collateral.

* TraderMoni is a FG project approved by NASS and not a political party project

* TraderMoni does not require PVC or party membership card

* Tradermoni is a continuous project, after the petty traders pay back the 10k they can grow the funds up to 100k, so it goes beyond the election period

* These Loans will not only help the local traders to expand their businesses, but also change their standard of living thus aiding in poverty alleviation and stability in the country’s economic outlook.

* Banks have high interest rates and this petty traders can’t afford to take such loans and pay back with interest, TraderMoni is a solution to that as it is a collateral free loan

* TraderMoni started in 2016 but fully took off after NASS approved it.

* This programme aims at reducing short-term poverty by direct cash transfers and fight long-term poverty by increasing human capital among the poor through conditional cash transfers.

* Buhari has made several efforts to improve the economic well-being and welfare of the poorest Nigerians. TheTraderMoni initiative is part of the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Program (GEEP)

* It is a federal government empowerment scheme to help alleviate poverty in Nigeria by empowering traders and artisans.

EXPOSED! - WHAT ATIKU ABUBAKAR PROMISED OBJ FOR HIS ENDORSEMENT!

Written by Barrister Abegunde O. Adebiyi.

The political system took a different dimension especially when former President Obasanjo endorsed his most hated associate, Atiku Abubakar. I was in Abeokuta, Ogun state when the Waziri of Adamawa secretly visited his former boss at his Ota island.

We were not surprised because politicians are coming day by day, as soon as Atiku, Saraki, PDP National chairman and some persons unidentified by me, the meeting went to close door. It took 2 hours to end the meeting. Shortly after their arrival TY Danjuma, Aliyu Gusau and some Oil magnates stormed the venue. Now, I got confused. I asked myself what is going on here. This is beyond political gathering, but a formation of business interests. Few of us were told to step out, but I was lucky to stay in due to my Dad's influence.

The meeting began as at 11 pm and ended 2:49 am. It was fantastic actually, but very horrible and disheartening, I saw evil elements and wicked games. I knew Obasanjo is evil but never knew he is as evil as he was during the meeting. I now realized why my Dad sent me to represent him.

I don't like President Buhari, but something came to my mind why did is Obasanjo so wicked to him and his people (the North), unfortunately I don't have the answers.

I don't need to go into details of every bit of their conversation, but rather highlight the conditions given to Atiku and his elements, if they actually need his (Obansanjo's) support.

1. The Waziri signed a paper to allocate more Oil Wells to both TY Danjuma and his cronies.

2. That the Mambila hydro power station will be suspended.

3. That the Baro Sea Port will be suspended as well.

4. That he will impose National ban on Cattle Range.

5. That when supported into office he will make sure all oil exploration shall stop.

6. That he shall renew the subsidy regime.

7. That all corruption charges shall not be given attention.

8. He will handover to Peter Obi.

Seeing the above conditions my heart exude, I couldn't sleep, I couldn't eat, I have to confide in my Dad, he told me clearly that Obasanjo hates anything development, my dad confessed to me unless the man is dead otherwise we can't get ourselves out of this mess.

My worries about the whole meeting was Atiku's acceptance to deadly proposals. Why would he accept such evil agenda? Does his political ambition override our National development or what?

As I said earlier I don't want to go into details, but my self consciousness will always judge me if I fail to say something. I know what I am putting myself into. I know what might happen to me, but I don't care, I will be very happy while laying down in my grave if Nigerians know what they are plotting than to live and cry day by day.

My note is a point of call.

Polls Shift: INEC Chairman, Yakubu, Compromised - Group

BY

There are indications that the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has been compromised in respect of conducting the 2019 general elections, impeccable sources have revealed.

The revelation came on the heels of the postponement of the elections by a week from Saturday, February 16 based on logistical challeges allegedly faced by the electoral commission occasioned by bad weather and sabotage.

However, there are misgivings and dissatisfaction within tjr political circle as there are accusations and counter-accusations between the two leading political parties - All Progressives Congresss (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

But the head of the commission may be acting a script as people in charge of relevant agencies responsible for INEC logistics have denied the logistics claim, saying the nation's weather was good days to the scheduled day of the elections and the airports were ordered to operate 24 hours in order to deliver critical electoral materials across the country.

The Minister of State for Transportation (Aviation), Hadi Sirika and the leadership of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) have all put a lie to the INEC chairman's claim of bad weather as one of the reasons for the election postponement.

Also, Prof Yakubu has been acting alone within the INEC structure, thereby sidelining the most experienced National Commissioners - Mr Lekki and Hajiya Amina Zakari - while working with a close knit group that has be compromised  by the opposition.

"Professor Ibeano is said to be closely coordinating with Professor Chidi Odinkalu and indeed, the six-point plan of the INEC chairman was never discussed within INEC or with his commissioners," one of the sources revealed.

It also been discovered that since the stakeholders meeting pf last Saturday, the chairman is yet to meet his team as the national commissioners were at home on Sunday despite efforts to keep the situation room open.

Insider sources confided in our reporter that the INEC chairman is working against the ruling APC, saying that the logistics issue and trying to hold elections without adequate preparations were designed to suppress APC votes and it took the insistence of some national commissioners, who are disposed to the fair conduct of the polls, to ensure the postponement was done in order to demobilise saboteurs.

"Initially, their goal was to force elections with shoddy logistics and announce results with high degree of low turnouts from APC strongholds.

"Interestingly, the INEC chairman has been sitting at the Abuja Airport since Friday. No one knows what he is clearing and for what. It means there is a possibility that alternative election materials are being cleared as all clearings have been concluded since and INEC is not using Abuja airport as major incoming hub. Indeed nothing can be done at airport that can’t be done elsewhere under these circumstances," another source said.

Meanwhile, Prof Yakubu's express pronouncement on Saturday that there is no more campaigns by the political parties is another cause for concern, as there are indications that it might be a kind of fait accompli regarding the election results.

"If he (INEC chairman) is not compromised, why will he do that? Campaigns can only stop 24 hours to the elections as specified by the Electoral Act. So, why he is going against the law if there is no deal with some people against others," he added.
PoliticsWho Is Pdp's Mole In Inec? by kcub(op): 12:59pm On Feb 17, 2019
WHO IS PDP'S MOLE IN INEC?

Amina Zakari was head of logistics of INEC. PDP and all manner of corrupt persons and groups mounted a vigorous, hateful campaign calling for her removal from that position. And to avoid (later) accusations of bias and favouritism by INEC in the eventuality of Buhari winning the 2019 presidential election, Professor Mahmood Yakubu removed her from that office and replaced her with Professor Ikechukwu Ibeano as the new head of logistics!

Thereafter, INEC was to postpone the 2019 presidential election because of LOGISTICS that have been compromised!

Who compromised those logistics? Who gave INEC Card Readers to those PDP operatives in Rivers and Abia states that were arrested with over 100 Card Readers? And who gave Abia State PDP the logistic of INEC result sheets for 2019 that were filled already with total victory for the PDP?

So, who is PDP's mole in INEC?

I think this postponement is beginning to make more sense to me!

Atiku's preferred bidder, 'Global Energy' that agreed to increase NigerDock's workforce from 4,800 to 6,000 as part of privatization agreement dismissed 2,200 immediately it took ownership. Jagal Group that took over after Global Energy lost out on power play also sacked 1,400.

B. Nigeria Port Authority reform was purely contrived to grab landed properties. 10,000 workers were sacked & 133 bids opened for NPA properties consisting of 68 properties in Apapa, 28 houses in Ikoyi. The highest reserves bid was for a property in Ikoyi fixed at N390.4 Million.

C. NIGERIA RAILWAY
Did Atiku forget how 7000 railway workers were sacked in 2005 without compensation to reduce its workforce to 6,300? Another 1,260 were fired in 2006. When ATIKU and his Headmaster were leaving in 2007, they left ~N5 Billion in unpaid Railway pension arrears.

D. FEDERAL SECRETARIAT IKOYI
In 2006, Babalakin's Resort Ltd acquired this 15 storeys prime asset overgrown with weeds from atiku and OBJ through a Development Lease Agreement (DLA) for N7.2Billion. A Court has asked Buhari to pay N54 Billion to Babalakin for that blunder.

The DLA, dated October 10, 2006, granted Babalakin Resort Ltd a 99-years lease to redevelop the Federal Secretariat complex, that OBJ & ATIKU had abandoned for 7 years into 480 luxury apartments. This was at the eve of their departure from government. The transaction was one for the road.

The DLA hit the rocks when Lagos State Govt in the interest of the public indicated willingness in acquiring the Federal Secretariat complex. LASG insisted it should be accorded right of first refusal since LASG is the Issuing Authority of the C of O, coupled with other reasons.

Finally, lets compare OBJ & Atiku's first 3yrs in power to the first 3yrs of PMB that hasn't retrenched one civil servant, but has bailed out states on salaries. Lets not forget Atiku was in charge of the economy and OBJ gave him free hand until Galaxy Backbone scandal happened.

In 2002, first 3yrs of the Obasanjo/Atiku, manufacturing accounts for 6% of GDP. Nigeria's GDP fell by half for d first time in 20yrs. This was d year all textile factories in Nigeria closed down and unemployment was 28% within d formal sector alone; I repeat, alone!!

In 2002, UN estimated that 70% of Nigerians live below poverty line compared to 48.5% in 1998 under a military rule. Life expectancy fell from 54yrs to 51yrs. Two-fifth of every child below age 5 were malnourished and only 50% of the 128Million Nigerians have access to clean water.

FACTUAL REPORT ON HOW ATIKU SUPERVISED THE SALES OF OVER 145 FG INVESTMENTS AS A VICE PRESIDENT !!!

Please any or all ATIKU supporters or his campaign structure are free to deny these submission with facts not sentiments.

“As Head of National Council on Privatization (NCP), from 1999, atiku dug Nigeria's economic grave for today's extreme poverty and unemployment.

There were over 600 federal assets when Atiku's NCP started selling.

Atiku should tell us who bought what and what was left for the country when he left power.
To who did Atiku sell the following companies:

Nafcon
Eleme Petrochemical
Daily Times
Ughelli Power
Egbin Power
NICON Insurance
ALSCON
Transcorp Hilton Hotel
NICON Luxury Hotel
Sunti Sugar Ltd
NetCom House
Bacita Sugar Ltd
MM2

In 2007, Onigbolo Cement operating at 500,000 tonnes per annum was sold to Dangote at N1.7Bn

To those selling Atiku, let me remind you of Senate public hearing of August, 2011 which succinctly captures how Atiku through retinue of cohorts, fronts, shell companies, ring fenced over 70% of FG's assets through a brazen daylight robbery privatization that he supervised.

This is nothing sensational. Its real life facts and all the Senators are alive today.

The 2011 privatization Senate committee was made up of Senator Ahmed Lawan – Chairman, Senators Babafemi Ojudu, Philip Aduda, Mohammed Ndume, Ifeanyi Okowa, Hope Uzodinma and Mohammadu Magoro.

Lets look at Aluminium Smelting Company, ALSCON, that Atiku privatized.

ALSCON which Nigeria built with $3.2 billion, was sold to a Russian firm, Russal, for $130million. As of the time of sale, ALSCON had received $120million for the dredging of Imo River, but was never done.

When the Senate Seating of August, 2011 asked the Russian company the whereabouts of the $120million dredging money, the company's Deputy Managing Director, Vitaly Kuzrestov, said that the money has been used for Environment Impact Assessment."

FG's Five percent share in Eleme Petrochemical worth USD27 million was never presented at the National Council on Privatization before it was sold to Indorama.

Indorama recovered this amount selling Polyethylene and Urea to the entire west Africa sub-region in just 14 months.

The Atikulate Business Theory: Sell to yourself Government assets that leaves millions in penury, to set up personal businesses that provides for a few. Atiku didn't employ the few hundreds he employed because he likes them, he needs them to work to preserve what he took from Government

A man who supervised sales of over 145 federal investments as a vice president, without a thought for today wants to be president.

He didnt revitalize them.

He didnt resuscitate them.

He sold them to whomever agrees to his personal terms

InvestmentDunlop Is Returning To Local Manufacturing In Nigeria! by kcub(op): 10:22am On Feb 15, 2019
```Dunlop is Returning to Local Manufacturing in Nigeria!
Obasanjo and Atiku's policy killed Dunlop in 2005 after the company had invested $50m in new project. Obasanjo/Atiku in 2006 introduced a policy that reduced tariff on imported tyres from 40% to 10%.
Imported tyres from China flooded the market and that was the end of Dunlop. Dunlop struggled till it shut down in 2008 with attendant loss of investment and jobs for workers.
So when next Atiku talks about jobs and creating jobs tell him before you vote on Saturday that together with Obasanjo they actually killed jobs in manufacturing sector with bad policies.
It is same container economy Atiku and Obi are articulating. They want to open our borders to all manners of importation from China, Europe and America while Buhari's policy is promoting local production of what we use to create the jobs we need.
While Atiku and Obasanjo killed Dunlop, Buhari is working with Dunlop to revive their operations in Nigeria again.
The current administration is working with Dunlop to remove policies and inhibitions that killed local tyre production in Nigeria. The FG is sending a new automotive policy for legislation to the National Assembly that will boost local tyre production working with Dunlop.
On the basis of this, Dunlop has developed 10-year strategic business plan that will make it return to local manufacturing in Nigeria.
While you plan to vote on Saturday, Vote for Buhari that is reviving industries and promoting local manufacturing. Dont vote for looters whose policies only promoted container economy.```
Talks of Islamization and the gullibility of some Nigerians
I laugh hard when I read articles claiming the "Islamization" of Nigeria by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Quick history class: when Buhari was head of State and he had all the powers without the constraints of the National Assembly, he did not Islamize Nigeria. That was in 1984. Buhari even refused to join OIC. It was Babangida that joined OIC. It meant that they had to remove Buhari to join OIC when he refused to assent to the idea as Head of State.
Still on history please, just one more: when 12 States in Nigeria 2002 thereabout declared Sharia in their States guess who was President, Obasanjo. But all those lying to us about Islamization now were quiet abi?
Now this Buhari who allegedly wants to Islamize Nigeria has cooks, his ADC and his drivers as Christians.
All those with whom he ran-all his running mates ever were all Christians including two pastors!
I also remember that it is these same miscreants that said the same of the former Osun state governor, Rauf Aregbesola.
Ogbeni Aregbesola has served his two-terms in Osun and the state was not Islamized, it’s going to be the same story for Nigeria but let us leave politics aside and delve into this ludicrous issue once, and for all.
Yes, President Buhari is a Muslim and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is a Christian, yet they want to Islamize Nigeria. When was this agenda conceived? Was it in 2015? Or was it already in the offing? If it was already in the offing, then it begs the question of whether former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan were involved.
The two of them ruled Nigeria for 14 years out of the 16 years that PDP ruled since the country returned to democracy. Why didn’t they halt the plan? Or better still, why didn’t they attempt to Christianize Nigeria? Or could they not have sacked all these Muslims during their time in office?
The truth is, these men and women have built their careers over the decades, and they have risen to these positions by virtue of the fact that they have earned it. During Obasanjo's administration, he appointed IGP Musiliu Smith as the first police boss and then Mustapha Balogun, both Muslims but during Buhari’s government it was Solomon Arase who was first appointed, a Christian.
No noise was made about this until Ibrahim Idris was appointed and Islamization noise started. During Jonathan's government, Hafiz Ringim, Mohammed Dikko Abubakar and Suleiman Abba all served as IGPs. They were all Muslims but no noise of Islamization.
It is idiotic to say that Nigeria will be Islamized by anyone or any group. When Christian universities were springing up left, right and center, no one said they were preparing Christians to be radical or to Christianize Nigeria.
But if it’s a Muslim bank, just one Muslim bank, we will not rest. When will we stop deceiving ourselves? President Buhari has made 159 Board appointments since 2015 and of that figure, 89 are Christians. Look at the Ministers and you will find a balance as well.
Let’s stop disrespecting these noble men and women by rubbishing their careers and religion. They have earned it and they worked their way to the top as professionals in their fields.
For those who understand hierarchy and the military, you will agree that President Buhari cannot sack all the Generals if they were Christians because he wants to appoint a Muslim Captain as the Chief of Army Staff.
It’s time we put this divisive evil to rest and respect ourselves as Nigerians. Let's act like decent and reasonable human beings for once.
Thank you.
PoliticsNigeria Immigration Service Achievements by kcub(op): 11:37am On Feb 06, 2019
OFFICERS PROMOTIONS
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) on Monday said it had promoted 4,797 officers and service men as part of comprehensive campaign to boost the morale of its personnel.
The Comptroller General, Muhammad Babandede, disclosed this at the inauguration of the 2018 Comptroller General Annual Conference in Maiduguri.
Mr Babandede disclosed that 3,405 officers and men, who suffered unnecessary stagnation, were promoted to the next ranks while 1,392 others were promoted through conversion and upgrade.
LEADERSHIP TRAINING
He revealed that comptrollers and other senior officers were exposed to leadership skills and junior officers were trained on administrative skills while retiring officers were also trained in the past one year.
PERSONNEL TRAINING SCHOOL
Mr Babandede added that a new curriculum had been introduced in its training schools to build the capacity of its personnel to enable them to discharge their duties effectively, adding that the service accorded priority to the training of personnel.
He said: “We have continued to make steady progress in the discharge of our statutory mandates over the years and it resulted in some formidable reforms that placed NIS very predominantly in the nation’s security and economic development indices.”
INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT AND SERVICE DELIVERY
On infrastructure development, Mr Babandede disclosed that the service had initiated various projects to create an enabling operational environment for its personnel and transform its services.
The CG disclosed that modern office accommodation were inaugurated in Kano and Jigawa, while similar projects were ongoing in Plateau, Imo, Nasarawa, Gombe, Enugu and Ekiti States.
Mr Babandede said office and barrack space facilities at Seme, Idi-Iroko, Mazanya-Jibiya, Imeko and Illela as well as Maigatari, Shaki and Seme would soon be commissioned.
He said the essence of the Forward Border Patrol Base was to enhance surveillance and check dangerous movement in the Sahara Desert and Mediterranean Sea.
The service, he added, also implemented Information and Data Analysis Platform (MIDAS) at Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Enugu International Airports, to enhance security and processing of migrants’ data.
“The federal government last week approved N7 billion for construction of and furnishing of Technology Building. The building will revolutionise our jobs, all data in one house interfacing with each other.
“We have taken delivery of 114 patrol vehicles; 93 flag cars, 14 buses four ambulances, 9 trucks and 12 SUVs for passport operations and distributed officers and operational units,” he added.
VISA REFORMS
Mr Babandede said the service had also adopted proactive visa reforms in line with global best practices, to deal with cumbersome processes and ease difficulties encounter in visa processing.
The CG revealed that 24,840 approvals for Visa on Arrival (VoA) and 7,114 temporary work permit were issued since January.
He added that biometric visa had commenced in 17 missions and would be deployed to airports.
According to him, the federal government has approved a new ‘polycarbonate e-passport’ with a 10-year validity, which would be unveiled in December.
Mr Babandede explained that about 25 features were added to the new booklet for enhanced security with the support of its partners ISTIL.
“It is not enough to launch a new document if the process to acquire it is deficient. In this regards, we are tackling the problem of lost passports seriously,” he said.
He called on the people to desist from fraudulent acts while applying for issuance of passport, warning that erring applicants and officers would be prosecuted.
COMMENCEMENT OF NIGERIAN E-SECURITY PASSPORT
The new passport will be available in passport offices as from March, 2019. This is to give room for circulation of the new booklet to the International Communities, Diplomatic Missions, Immigration Authorities, ICAO etc.
The passport will be rolled out in Passport Offices in phases in the following order:
Service Headquarters Abuja – 4th March, 2019
Ikoyi Passport Office, Lagos – 25th March, 2019
Kano Passport Office, Kano – 1st April, 2019
Osinbajo enjoys overwhelming support in Ifo, Ota
The Next Level door-to-door engagements carried out by Vice President Osinbajo took him to Ogun state on Monday, where he made quick stops at Ota before heading to Ifo.
While receiving praises from the multitudes that thronged the streets on his way to the Olota of Ota’s Palace, the Vice President acknowledged their cheers and saluted them with zest.
Upon his arrival at the palace, HRM Oba (Prof.) Adeyemi Abdulkabir Obalanlege personally welcomed him and gave thanks to God Almighty for protecting him as regards the recent helicopter mishap that occurred at Kabba, Kogi state.
[img][/img]
Afterwards, the Oba assured Vice President Osinbajo of the people’s vote.
The story was similar in Ifo, where the Olu of Ifo, Oba Samuel Atanda Oladipupo upon receiving Vice President Osinbajo at his palace, burst into song and led praise and worship in thanksgiving.
He thanked God for sparing the life of the Vice President while supplicating that he will be granted long life to continue the good work he has started.
The Vice President then had a chat with residents who were happy to have the number two citizen in their community. This happiness stems from the extremely inclusive nature of the Osinbajo campaign trail that has touched many hitherto overlooked communities which never get to receive high level visits from past governments.
Reacting to the overwhelming support, Vice President Osinbajo assured the people that Nigeria was on the right path and is on course to reach the Next Level.
“Ota and Ifo, thank you,” he wrote on his Twitter account, adding that, “We are going higher.”
PoliticsThe Economist And Its Double Standard Poll Prediction by kcub(op): 1:02pm On Feb 05, 2019
The Economist and its double standard poll prediction
By Sunday James Akinloye
For those who take The Economist prediction as gospel, you might be in for a long haul because they do have a handful of failed poll predictions that has hurt their believers hard in times past.
In 2016, they put Hillary Clinton to the sword by falsely making her and her campaign team believe that they will win. Here’s how The Economist predicted the outcome of the 2016 election in the United States.
“Could it happen? Absolutely. But it would be a very, very big upset—about as likely as, say, the Chicago Cubs baseball team coming back from a three-games-to-one deficit to win their first World Series since 1908. So yeah, Hillary’s got this. Democrats, just ask a Cleveland Indians fan whether you have anything to worry about.”
We all know what happened at the end. Clinton lost and Trump won. The Economist misled them and billions across the world. Coming back home for a bit. In December 2018, The Economist predicted that incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari will win a second term in office and that the opposition will collapse.
The Economist in its edition, “The World in 2019”, the magazine said: “The president, Muhammadu Buhari, will win re-election in February, as the new opposition coalition may collapse before the vote.
Just to state categorically, the quote from The Economist claimed two things. One is that President Buhari will be re-elected and that the opposition will collapse before the elections. One thing is clear, President Buhari is clear favourites to win if the campaign rallies across the country are anything to go by.
President Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo have embarked on a more proactive and people-oriented campaigns than any other party in Nigerian democratic history. The mammoth crowds at the rallies are also a confirmation that the presidential duo is loved.
Fast forward to February 2019, barely two weeks before the presidential election in Nigeria, the supposedly reputed magazine did a U-turn and claimed that the main opposition party will win.
Please stop for a minute and take a deep breath, do you expect the truth from a man who speaks from both sides of his mouth?
Little wonder, economic historian and professor of Economics, Bradford DeLong wrote this about The Economist, “As a longtime reader of The Economist, let me just say that in the past six years I have come to the conclusion that in five important issue areas--U.S. politics, U.S. economics, finance (U.S. and global), Middle Eastern politics, and African politics — anything The Economist states that I did not already know is likely to be wrong... And it's the reason I pay much more attention these days to the Financial Times.”
In all fairness, there is nothing left of The Economist’s credibility when it comes to political calculations and predictions. Hopefully, The Economist will have the decency to apologise to Nigerians after the elections on 16 February.
*12 traditional rulers endorse Buhari/Osinbajo in Okitipupa*
No less than 12 traditional rulers in Okitipupa, Ondo State have endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for a second term in office on Thursday.
This comes on the heels of endorsements by other high-ranking Yoruba traditional rulers including that by the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi on Wednesday.
On arriving Okitipupa, Prof Osinbajo headed first to the palace of the Jegun of Idepe, Okitipupa, Oba Adetuga Adetoye were he was received with dancing, singing and cheering which could be heard for miles in the adjoining areas.
He then proceeded to the palace of Abodi of Ikaleland, Oba G.B Faduyile, the paramount traditional ruler in the Okitipupa LGA.
On behalf of all the rulers in the LGA, Oba Faduyile announced the endorsement of the Buhari/Osinbajo presidential ticket.
In his remarks he noted that until last year, there was no electricity in the local government area and environs until the Buhari administration brought power.
Oba Adetoye in his vote of thanks said no President or VP has ever visited this area, "and we love your admiration very much." He prayed for the APC success at the polls while stating that residents of Okitipupa were fully committed to sending Buhari back to Aso Rock for his second term.
Owa of Idanre endorses Buhari/Osinbajo
Hot on the heels of the endorsement of the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and his Principal, President Muhammadu Buhari by the Afenifere, a Pan Yoruba society, the VP is getting further assurances from not just the common man who adores him to the moon and back but from blue blooded royalty as well.
The Owa of Idanre, His Majesty Fredrick Aroloye Arubiefin III, told VP Osinbajo, “Go and write it down, you have won,” when he paid him a courtesy visit to his palace in Idanre, Ondo state.
A confirmation that the people of Idanre would be massively casting their vote for the incumbent duo.
Vice President was in town to continue his much-vaulted door-to-door campaign that has further endeared him to the Nigerian people.
