Politics / Re: Traditional Rulers From Biafra Territory To Visit Tinubu For Nnamdi Kanu Release by Kdon2: 1:41pm On Aug 25, 2023
1nice:
Traditional rulers from south east and south south region of Nigeria ( Biafra Territory) are to book an appointment to see the now Nigeria President in aso rock Abuja next month September 2023 for talks about the immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu from DSS custody since the Nigeria Appeal court has discharge and acquitted Nnamdi kanu and there is no need for him to still remains in the detention.

The Biafra traditional rulers are meant to discuss peace talk with Mr. Bola Tinubu in aso rock Abuja and if the peace talk fails, and there is no meaningful words from the now Nigeria President then the Biafra traditional rulers might apply decisive action to send a clear message to those in authority and to Nigerians that will shake the foundation of injustice and nepotism in Nigeria. It will not be fair, if Mr. Bola Tinubu look down on the Biafra traditional rulers the same way Buhari government looks down on the traditional rulers because this time it will make the south east and south south people to reject Mr. Bola Tinubu as the President of Nigeria and declear that the Nigeria government has no authority and control over the south east and south south region.

On hearing this news, the people of the south east and south south regions of Nigeria have welcome this news as a good development to call for the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu from DSS custody and for the Nigeria government to obey Appeal Court ruling which discharge and acquitted Nnamdi Kanu 10 months ago.

As Nigerians awaits the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal judgement, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the just concluded presidential elections, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar has taken his legal battle to a United States of America District Court in a bid to unearth and unmask the secrecy surrounding the academic records of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu which was submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The legal landscape has taken a striking turn as the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division, takes center stage in a matter that intertwines Nigerian politics with academic authenticity. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has embarked on a quest to compel Chicago State University (CSU) to release crucial documents linked to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the current President of Nigeria who contested the February 25 Presidential election under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Here is what Nigerians need to know.

Jurisdiction Established: The court proceedings were spurred by a preceding case in Nigeria on November 9, 2022, where Mr. Mike Enahoro-Ebah, a “Human Rights Defender and Public Interest Litigator” in Abuja, Nigeria, took the initiative. His actions set the stage for a legal journey that led H.E Atiku Abubakar to seek jurisdiction from the US court. The United States District Court has determined that it holds jurisdiction over the matter, aligning with US laws that authorize document discovery from individuals or entities residing within its district for foreign proceedings.

Forgery Allegations and Diplomas in Question: At the heart of this matter lie allegations of forgery. Enahoro-Ebah alleged that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu presented a forged CSU diploma, dated June 22, 1979, among other inconsistencies, as part of his filing to run for President. H.E Atiku Abubakar’s court papers assert that CSU’s Registrar, Mr. Caleb Westberg responded to a subpoena, providing documents including a CSU diploma dated June 27, 1979. The distinctions between these diplomas, from seals to fonts, raise substantial doubts about their authenticity.

Inconsistencies Unveiled: The documents produced by CSU expose perplexing disparities. While Tinubu claimed to be solely a Nigerian citizen, the CSU documents portray a U.S. citizen named “Bola Tinubu.” Similarly, the birth year conflicts between the CSU records (1954) and Tinubu’s information to INEC (1952) further deepen the intrigue. The divergent narratives even extend to the gender of the individual described in the CSU transcripts.

Educational Background Scrutinized: A spotlight is cast on Tinubu’s educational background. The discrepancy between the CSU documents and Tinubu’s claims of graduating from Government College, Lagos, in 1970 adds another layer of complexity. The inconsistencies challenge the credibility of the information submitted to INEC.

His Excellency Atiku Abubakar’s Application for Document Verification: Building upon these disparities, Atiku’s legal team petitioned the US court for an order to compel CSU to release and authenticate the documents in question. By meeting the statutory criteria and satisfying the court’s requisites, Atiku has positioned himself as an “interested person” to warrant a potential victory.

Anticipated Outcome: The court’s assessment of jurisdiction and compliance with legal norms has paved the way for a potential turning point in this matter. With Atiku fulfilling the necessary criteria and CSU’s status as a public university under Illinois law, the court seems inclined to grant Atiku’s requests, signaling an impending chapter in this unfolding drama.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in a swift reaction has employed the services of a defense attorney in the US to prevent the court from granting Atiku’s request on Chicago State University.

The District Court for the Northern District of Illinois gave a deadline of August 23rd , 2023 for Tinubu to file his arguments on why his records should not be released.

Jubilations as "Skills 87.7 FM" commences full broadcasting services in Okigwe

Titus Maduako Eleweke

It was a moment of joy and celebrations in Okigwe, Imo state as the founder and proprietor of Gregory University Uturu, Prof Gregory Ibe opened first radio station "Skills 87.7 FM" in the town.

The broadcast station is expected to serve the five states in south east geopolitical zone and it has fully commenced operations.

Inaugurating the "Skills 87.7 FM", Okigwe, National Broadcasting Commission, NBC urged the Management of station to always conform to the laid down rules and regulations as outlined by the commission.

The commission also appreciated the efforts of Prof Gregory Ibe for adding value to lives of the people through quality broadcasting that will educate and entertain the residents.

The Zonal Director, NBC, Enugu, Mrs. Ijeoma Obodo who gave the charge on Wednesday during the commissioning of Skills FM, 87.7, FM Okigwe , noted that the charge became necessary especially now the station has commenced full broadcasting services.

According to her, the Radio Station should impact positively on its community of operation for proper development and education.
She also urged them not to be hostile to other Radio Stations that would be coming up in the area in the nearest future and called on communities around to patronize the new station.

In an address by the Founder and Proprietor, Gregory University, Uturu, Prof. Gregory Ibe, represented by The DVC Academics, Prof. Uwaoma Uche, he said the Radio Station was not just a collection of transmitters and equipment, but a platform for connection, collaboration and empowerment.

According to him, the station has come to improve the lives of the people by announcing them to limelight and the world.

He stated that information is key as it has the potentials to shape communities, maintaining that Skills 87.7 FM will serve as a vehicle to bridge and ensure interconnectedness in its community of operation as well as ensure that the rich cultural heritage inherent in Okigwe was announced to the world.

Earlier in his welcome address, The Vice Chancellor, Gregory University, Prof. Augustine Uwakwe, represented by The DVC administration, Prof. Evaristus Anyaehie, said the birth of Skills FM 87.7, is in tandem with the corporate mission of Gregory University Uturu embedded in the motor " Knowledge for Tomorrow".

He hinted that the brain behind the choice of Okigwe as the location of the Radio Station was to complement the philanthropic gestures of the Founder, Prof. Gregory Ibe.

According to him, this is one of Prof Ibe own way of substantially contributing to the development of the third largest city in Imo State.
He expressed optimism that Skills 87.7 FM, would indeed add value to humanity.

In his goodwill message, the Chairman, Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Imo State Chapter, Ifeanyi Nwanguma, charged the management of the station to engage seasoned Journalists to guard against quackery in the profession, pledging that Imo NUJ would partner the new Radio Station in its future engagements.

On his part, The Chairman, All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, in Abia State, Chief Sunday Onukwubiri, appreciated Prof. Gregory Ibe, for attracting development to Okigwe Community and beyond.
He described him as a worthy son of Igboland who has embarked on community development over the years, calling for patronage from the entire Okigwe and beyond.

Recall that as the first indigenous Radio Station in the area, Skills 87.7 FM, had started test transmission in the past couple of months announcing its presence in Okigwe and other communities and some neighbouring States.
