stupid igbos.

how can ojukwu release awolowo .

the prison was a federal institution . no way a regional governor had any powers over it. even though it was located in the east.

its like saying that unilag is under the command of fashola because its in lagos. hell no.

why didnt he release awolowo before gowon took over , if he soo loved awolowo and considered him a hero. after all he was Governor since janurary . and he should have lobbied for him to be released by ironsi , but that never happened.

awolowo was released on the orders of gowon, plain and simple.

if he had not been released on gowons orders, then he would have been promptly rearrested and locked up , the minute he stepped back in lagos as an escaped fugitive.
You sealed it, bravo!

Fool, this is just a tip of the iceberg. Its a gradual process and remember this is just about the NSA by the time they get to NNPC and others you will get it. Anybody can cry, wail and curse, we are getting to the root of this madness.

Self determination is a right not a privilege. Irrespective of our own opinion, promotion of such right shouldn't be toyed with. Nairaland should be known as the site that allows people express themselves...

Of course, any threat to national security or people's security should be banned.
Self determination abi?! So Seun can just allow boko haram as well to have a voice on his forum?

Na wa o, Office of the National Security Adviser has become an Insurance Agency to pay compensation for private properties destroyed by Boko Haram. What of all the other thousands of villagers whose properties has been destroyed by Boko Haram, did the NSA pay them also? Is Nduka Obaigbena telling us that Thisday's properties are not insured and that the office of the National Security Adviser would pay for all, thefts and damages to their properties?

Why would the office of the National Security Adviser pay for damages for seizure of newspaper by (suspected) armed soldiers? how did they arrive at the amount for compensation? Was the case case taken to court or the national security adviser is now a civil court awarding damages against itself. Is this the first time newspapers has been seized in Nigeria? Is it even the first time thisday newspaper has been seized and destroyed by government agencies?
You don't understand, Jona and the gang paid for misfiring on thisday newspaper by their boys the boko haramists.

When it comes to corruption, these people are really innovative and sophisticated. I wonder why they can't be this creative in proffering solutions to our problems.
N.B: Corruption cuts across all regions and religion. Want proof? Let's use this 2.1$ Naira arms probe as a case study.
Major Actors: Dasuki Sambo: Northwest/Muslim. Raymond Dokpesi: Southsouth/Christian. Bashir Yuguda: Northeast/Muslim. Bode George: Southwest/Christian. Nduka Obaigbena: Southeast/Christian.... Corruption is a federal character and it cuts above religion and tribe. When it comes to sharing of d loot, these criminals forget if they're Hausa or Igbo(the two major players in this case are Hausa and Igbo). My people, no politician is worth it. To them, we're just pawns to be used in their quest for power. Stop the hate and tribalism
In some of my posts here during the last election I referred to this heartless and wicked group of Nigerians as the LAST TRIBe.

I think he is entitled to his opinion. However, his opinion shows why politicians continue to steal our resources. They steal these funds and oppress the public by displaying it to our faces. We even sing and clap for them to continue.

We, Nigerians, pride ourselves to be smart and intelligent. We travel abroad to rub it on the faces of our host countries, but what an Irony. I see no smartness nor intelligence if our political leaders continue to steal from us and we sit down to observe. Politicians in Kenya cannot steal and rub it off the faces their citizens, they will be stoned to death.

In the fight against corruption, we have a role to play too. Apart from whistle blowing against corrupt officials, there is the need to leave this stupid passive observation and e-fighting to an active support against corrupt public officers.
Well said.

The answer is leadership.

1. We've had SE'ner regional premier. So tell us what the SE premier/Azikiwe did for the SE while Awolowo was building industrial estates from Ikeja industrial to Apapa industrial, Matori, Mushin, Ilupeju and Oluyole industrial.

These industrial estates are still the major industrial powerhouse in Nigeria today, they are still responsible for a major chunk of our industrial output, goods and services.

Today, Procter and Gamble, the worlds largest manufacturer of consumer products have major manufacturing plants in Nigeria. Lagos, Ogun and Oyo state.

The Lagos P&G plant is under construction in the same Ikeja industrial estate created by Awolowo many decades ago.

The Oyo state P&G plant was built Oluyole estate, the same industrial estate Awolowo built many decades ago.

Ogun state P&G plant was built and commissioned by Amosun recently.

These major plants and economic activities like countless others means taxes for the states involved, better jobs and opportunities which is again why people go to the SW for economic opportunities.

2. We've had SE'ner head of state. What did he do for SE? Nothing, in fact he terminated our regional government and sank us into the Federal mess we are in today.

3. We've had SE Vice president

SE Ministers

SE governors

SE ministers

SE senate leaders more than any other region

SE house speakers

SE Ambassadors

SE Sec to the FG

SE heads of Pam Secs

SE Agency director general

SE Managers

GEJ's admin was loaded by SE folks

SE sided with the government in power for 16 years

4. So please tell us what the SE gained from these advantages?

Obviously, SE leadership since day one lacked foresight and failed to lay the needed foundation for the future and today's leadership in SE are not any different.

Today, there's insecurity and unrest in the SE and we are yet to see the leaders from elders to traditional rulers to governors, elected officials in Abuja and socio groups intervene because of the economic negative side effects. Do you see P&G or any sane and prudent multinational investing 1 kobo in the SE?
God bless you!

**grins** Igbos have an elephant memory. Even your yoruba brothers hailed the burning of chisco transport in february here on NL. We might pretend to forgive but we don't forget. The thread is still here and pictures don't lie. www.nairaland.com/2161929/chisco-transport-buses-burnt-lagos **grins**
It has been refuted at that time, it was a
pdp propaganda to cause confusion in
Lagos between Yoruba and igbo. So ask
yourself that much buses burnt by apc and
chisco owner will keep mum without
pressing for compensation since February?
Actually, the pictures littering the internet
were that of the inferno that occurred few
years ago and wasn't cause by apc or
yoruba touts. Now, in order to justify your
barbaric act of setting Dangota's trucks on
fire you come up with this dead and buried
lie again and again.

Please let’s put this record straight once and for all. I’m a peace loving Nigerian and a lover of truth. In one of the thread on this forum this beautiful morning some people are still claiming that there was an incident of arson perpetrated by APC against Chisco Transportation Company here in Lagos in February.

I was so surprised to see the internet filled with this falsified news that you’ll tend to believe it was true.

My aim of writing this is to appeal to Chisco Transportation Company to come out and clear the issue once and for all. I would have personally gone to their office in Jibowu to request a written document to substantiate or refute the allegation once and for all.

You can imagine how innocent igbos or people of other tribes will feel towards Yorubas anytime they stumbled on this on the internet and think it was truth as written.

Armaggedon:
its a lie. Lagos has the highest crime rate in nigeria and enugu has the lowest. Do you recall when apc protesters burnt luxury buses belonging to an igbo transporter earlier this year?

If peace is the factor why are other places in SW that are more peaceful than lagos still villages?

The truth is lagos enjoys special attention from fg govt starting from colonial times till now. Should the seaport in portharcourt or onitsha stop being a subject of politics, lagos will suffer. Which is why you guys hold on to one nigeria.

Coming to leadership sw has the worst in the country save fayose. Lagos has the largest dept profile despite huge revenue, what of osun? The leadership in the east is the most visionary but seems emasculated by fg's policies and u know that.

I also heard you mentioning disposable income in Sw. That is a height of delusion! Sw is the most impoverished region aside north. Why do you thing ibadan oshgbo abeokuta are slums while enugu onitsha aba owerri ph awka and asaba are bubbling?

as for dangote, we dont beg for his investment he knows that too. He also knows he would be outcompeted hence he conspired with obj to shut down ibeto plant in ph.

Like i said politics is the thing not your so called peace. Igboland is peaceful but nigeria is an igbophobic country
Biafra and lies are inseparable.
