I think at this point, I will have to cancel the visa application and have them return my original documents. Who holds someone document for 3 months plus with no response at all. This is out of place. Canada visa is 6 month’s processing time, but you don’t hand in your original. If Germany doesn’t want Nigerians it should be made known to us. |
Intercontinenta:I have done that, but why making research today, I found out that it do take four to six weeks for the immigration office at Karlsruhe to make decision on your visa. I’m not saying that’s the problem here, but just trying to explore possible options. |
Jolands:Berlin |
honourableseyi:Nothing new here, once it comes to work during and after your studies that’s sure for you. The only issue is the language which I encourage anyone with long time visa to any EU state to learn. |
Ayrastarr:My visa application category is List A. Three months plus now and counting. |
Immacharles:I have already started classes online since convid19. I just found out that processing of visa do take 1 year now, it was updated at the consulate website. Things keep getting worse.

I have been waiting for responses for almost 3 months now, I went for my interview on the 4th of August till now no response from the embassy. |
My interview was on the 4th of August, Which is almost 2 months and 3 weeks, getting to 3 months now, but I have not receive any response. I emailed the consulate, but no response from them. I also emailed the Federal Office of Administration responsible for handling visa application on three different occasions. The first responses I got was “ Your digital visa request has been transmitted on 06.09.2023 The responsible immigration office (Ausländerbehörde) is the city council of Karlsruhe. We have not yet received the physical documents of your visa application. We will forward your papers to the immigration office immidiately after their arrival.” Then after a week, I emailed again, then got this response “ The responsible immigration office (Ausländerbehörde) is the city council of Karlsruhe. The original documents have been sent to the responsible immigration office on 20.09.2023 The visa application will be processed there. If you have any questions regarding the current processing status, please contact the immigration office.” Then after waiting and emailing again I got this “ your visa application is still in progress at immigration office (Ausländerbehörde) in city council of Karlsruhe. We have no information about the current processing status or processing duration at immigration office. For further information please contact immigration office (Ausländerbehörde).” I am confused on what to do next, any help or advice will be appreciated and what’s the possibility of my visa being approved. |

US elections: Africans chuckle at ugly US election Africans are laughing at the US elections on Twitter. Allegations of sexual assault, high-level corruption and vote rigging are normally found in less stable countries, but this year's presidential race is testing the resilience of America's electoral system. Nigerians in particular have found the irony of the world's foremost democracy slipping into embarrassing feuds and demagogic threats too hilarious to resist. Africans are laughing at the US elections on Twitter. Thousands have been picking events apart on Twitter under the hashtag #Nov8AfricanEdition - a reference to the date of the election. Under the hashtag, Nigerians and other Africans have been flipping the script and imagining how events in America would be reported if they were happening in Africa, with fake "breaking news" headlines and sarcastic support. The tag began trending after the third presidential debate, in which Donald Trump hinted he might not accept the election result if Hilary Clinton wins. The jokers saved their best material for Trump's claim that the US campaign is "rigged."
