Nigerian snack food manufacturers, Pacific Ring West Africa Ltd (PRWA) announced their first intercontinental shipment of Cassanovas cassava chips from Abuja to Germany.

The shipment marks the first time that 100% Nigerian cultivated, processed and packaged cassava chips is exported from Nigeria to Europe.

CEO of PRWA, Mr. Thomas Hirsch says value added products like Cassanovas will contribute to Nigeria’s agricultural economy and job creation.

“Its entrance into the European market represents a transformative moment in global perception of the quality, taste and international appeal of Nigeria’s produce, I can only hope that this marks one step to the success of Nigerian brands internationally,” be added.

Barr. Olusegun Awolowo, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), was delighted that made in Nigeria products would be accepted globally,

“It’s very tasty, I have tasted it before so I know, and all four flavours that has being approved by NAFDAC that is, Hot and Spicy, Salt and Pepper, BBQ Chicken and Funky Fried Noodles are gluten free, organic and free from artificial ingredients which is very healthy”

Position Summary
Employees will be processing and packaging snackfood products in a processing factory in Idu Yard, Abuja. Workers will be expected to practice good food safety and sanitation practices and will be taught how to properly and effectively handle and package the food.

Job Role
This position may require:
• Assembling, processing and packing snackfoods according to specifications
• Peeling of vegetables with a knife
• Assembling boxes
• Labelling according to specifications
• Sanitise and maintain all machinery and equipment to specifications

Position Summary
PRWA has an immediate need for a Chief Maintenance Engineer in Abuja, Nigeria. The Chief Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for: reporting to the Chief Operating Officer; the supervision and training of local personnel; for overseeing the unpacking, assembling, installation, verification and maintenance of all food processing machinery associated with the processing of our snackfoods; for for receiving and responding to service calls; take immediate action to resolve emergency situations or system breakdowns; and oversees the preventive maintenance program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Senior management responsibility for safe unpacking, unboxing, installation and verification of food processing and packaging machinery to prepare the factory for safe operations
• Designing and implementing a maintenance schedule for implementation by staff
• Education and training of junior staff and management in preventive engineering matters
• Respond immediately to unscheduled situations
• Ensure that the required reports, operating logs and maintenance forms are completed accurately and clearly.

Qualifications
• Senior engineering team management experience in commercial food manufacturing systems, including operation, repair and maintenance of processing and packaging machinery
