Please has anyone experienced this error for renewal? I input my old passport and it keeps giving me this "There was a problem verifiying your passport number. kindly try again later" error. My passport number is correct and It expires by September ending. tried today again and got a different error "The passport details provided by you are not found in the system. Please correct your entry and try again"

I applied for renewal on Monday, was vetted on Tuesday, rested on Wednesday, captured on Thursday, awaiting production on Friday...
Collection on Saturday perhaps? I joke 😂

Backstory
But for real, the DIY process was super smooth, without any hitches for me at the Ikoyi Passport office. I don't even know what I was thinking booking my appointment for the nearest available day which was 3 days after making payment, without doing any research. When I started researching, because there was a slight discrepancy with my birth LGA from NIN's side (not much of an issue because place of birth is really about the State), I saw that people generally were advised to book an appointment after their application had been vetted, and mine showed 'Awaiting Approval'. The panic become real when it displayed that you cannot change appointment date in Ikoyi branch.

Arriving for Capture
At that point, I just determined to take whatever comes to me at the appointment (time spent, potential frustration, and sweat) and just be done with it. Only for my vetting to be completed the next day. Then, finally at the time of capture today (15th Jan 2026), the process was much smoother than expected. Spent less than an hr there, with the bulk of the time wasted on printing the slips from a nearby cafe (for renewal after being vetted as of 15th Jan 2026 in Ikoyi Passport Office, you need to print out all application documents: appointment slip, passport datapage and passport renewal application with payment details clearly visible). I waited for less than 20 mins in the waiting room and captured in less than 5 mins.

The Actual Process (As of Jan 15th 2026 with my appointment date set for 10:30 AM that day)
With all the printouts ready, you head to SERVICOM building and ask for directions, as you will need to have the application signed or stamped by two offices there. Every office would request for your original passport so ensure you have that handy. From SERVICOM, you head to Room 17 in the next building to receive a stamp from two officials in that room, then Room 19 to submit the file. Not sure what happens there before capture as I was then advised to wait in Room 10. After less than 15 mins of waiting, my name was called and I was directed back to Room 19. After another roughly 5 mins of waiting, I was captured and informed that that was all and advised to come back in 3 weeks for collection.

Hope this helps someone out there, probably anyone frantic about LGA mismatches. I went with what my NIN showed seeing as it was not a major error. I'll attempt to correct NIN's error later but that would be much after I get my passport abeg 🤣

Check with the Belgian Ministry of Foreign affairs or email the Embassy with your questions and visa type/purpose.

As per tax clearance , you can meet the accountant in your company for it or perhaps approach FIRS. But don't let people take advantage of you to pay this or that. Since.ot is deducted from your salary, what you need is the confirmation of it.

Meanwhile if you have a permanent job or landed properties, it could prove ties back home.

Even if the conference registration fee is $1.m that does not make it a reputable conference. There are many shabby conferences which are meant to bring people to the U.S. illegally, therefore, any conference you are looking to must be accredited with the relevant bodies. That apart , since the year 2025 conference is already closed how do you want to proceed with the application ? Perhaps, you are just looking for good avenue to aquire a B1 visa 😊

That said, if you want to start right away the decision is yours and of course you have the chance to secure your desire date with 5x (five times) reschedule options as dates are being released or as a last resort apply for Emergency Appointment Request. Emergency Appointment Request Qualification falls under 4- categories.

1. Business (conference, business visit, contract negotiation, pre-order of goods inspection, etc.

2. Medical. 3. Study. 4. Burial.

However, you fall under category 1, so that you can plan your application very well in the beginning. U.S visa applications (B1-B2 , F1-visa etc ) are still ongoing without any issues both in Abuja and Lagos embassies, therefore you are free to start anytime. 👍

Start now so you can get a date early enough. I have been looking for dates since March and not yet gotten. No more US Visa Applications.

Expedited appointments are meant for very serious things and I do not think your conference will count as one.

Going with the conference is a good idea

Having read that it could take months or even a year to get an interview date I figured I should probably start now. There are 2 possible ways I’m thinking of going through and I will appreciate your candid advice.

If you are going for a genuine and verified reason you can apply for Expedient Appointment. Besides, visa appointment date is always open as soon as the backlogs are being cleared, so the notion that Appointment takes up to a year is not really a standard rule.

USA embassy does not verify or calculate your POF like those of Canada, UK, Australia or Newzealand. Therefore, do not give yourself unnecessary ado. All you have to calculate is your to and fro flight tickets, Accomodation fee for the duration of your stay, and extra money for unexpected expenses like medical or other miscellaneous spendings. All this has to be reflected in your bank statement.

Well, having traveled out of your country before is good but if your travel history is meaningless then it can be counterproductive. Focus on Genuine Intention, Proof of Ties, and Proof of Funds.

Poster must prove relationship to any one they claim is a relative. In this case to prove it is a sister, poster is to submit their birth certificate, pictures together etc

No need to upload refusal letter of last denial
Introduction letter should be Lagos

You need other things from your sister
Proof of where she stays if your are staying with her.
Proof of her status in the
Proof of funds if she is paying for expenses of your trip

Hello everyone . I am applying for my 4th Schengen visa . As at when I filled my form last year I only wrote France as my only destination for tourism . But right now I am considering another state to attend an event and I have supporting docs - registration, ticket and hotel - all paid .
My question now is this , should I fill another visa application form , I am thinking my number will be different from what's on my appointment slip and my appointment is end of the month . Or should I just leave it as it was and be silent about this other visit . Kindly respond .

In my own opinion, I'd suggest u purchase a Nexus freezer. Its durability is unquestionable and its defrost time is up to 64 hours give or take.

Well I bought Hisense for pocket friendly sake,the best bet is thermocool but very expensive,it's serving me thou,we have constant light and may not be able to answer the defrosting time line

I am using a snowsea freezer and i am loving it each day. Its two years old and gives me what i want. I was skeptical at first when i was about buying it because i couldn't afford LG that i really wanted. So i settled for snowsea, and it has not disappointed.me.
