“Even at my age, I still go to Umkhosi woMhlanga (a ceremony for virgins),” said Thembisile at a social cohesion dialogue about virginity.

Thembisile Ntaka is a South African woman who’s already 52 years old and still a proud virgin.

The event was organised by eThekwini Municipality at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Tuesday night.

“I began this journey when I was 14 years old. I get a lot of people criticising me for being a virgin and not having children. Some even tell me I will die a lonely woman. But that does not make me want to change my life.”

Thembisile said she has never slept with a man or even kissed one. She said she is one of the most respected women in Botha’s Hill.

“I’m the lastborn at home. My eight siblings got married and left me with my brother’s two children.”
She said when she was young she heard her brothers’ friends saying bad things about the girls they’d had s*x with.

“I decided then I didn’t want to be one of those girls,” she said.

Thembisile encouraged young ladies to stay virgins till marriage.

An evil Ghanaian man has done the unthinkable by butchering his girlfriend with a knife for daring to break up with him despite not approving of it.
Naami Sowah, a friend of the dead woman narrated that the man killed her after ‘she told him they should break up.’
In a long Facebook page, Opanyin Khay Kutin who shared the graphic stories narrated the sad incident and wrote:
“Hmmmmm…..LADIES PLSS BECAREFUL ON WHO TO DATE.. HMMMMMM.
“Ooooh sorry wai #OMG Maame Yaa ….I took it as a normal butchering from that heartless fiancée of yours when it happened 12pm yesterday in the afternoon and never believe which resulted your early death smh?
“Charlie it can happen to everyone so far as you are dating or in a relationship with a stupid partner who has no respect and careless for your living, please my humble advice to Facebook friends is just to stay positive and wait for God’s approval before entering into any relationship which leads to marriage!!

“Some of our men are heartless and careless when it comes to the *word #LOVE with their jealousy inheritance from birth….. Very scary picx but sorry dignities.” (sic)
Explaining what happened, Naami Sowah said: “She told the guy they should break up.”
Another friend added: “What do you think she did? Looking at the story she did nothing, absolutely nothing my sister, rather she failed to know who she was calling her boyfriend OK. She would have known long time ago that the guy is just an animal but she failed, thinking she’s in love, look there are a lot of them out there. Still failing to watch out ,when you approach them with a God fearing heart and a good intention, they misbehave towards you and then go in for those things.”

A 23 year old spinster identified as Khadija Ibrahim yesterday sued her father Bassa Ibrahim, before an Upper Area Court in Karu, Abuja, reasons being that he refused allowing her to marry the man of her choice.

It was reported that Khadija told the court that she had a suitor, who was willing to marry her, but her father refused to give his consent.

She said, “The man I want to marry has made several attempts to meet my father to discuss the wedding plan, but he always avoided him,the only reason he gave me was that the man I want to marry is not Fulani, which is not satisfactory to me.”

She however pleaded with the court to order her father to allow her to get married to the suitor,whose name was given as Abdulhamidu.

The respondent Mr Bassa, told the court that the allegations of his daughter were true.

He said, “I have always avoided Abdulhamidu because I am against his choice as a suitor,I have warned my daughter that marriage is not a child’s play. How can she get married to a man whose root and origin are not known to us?”

The judge Abdullahi Baba has adjourned the hearing till May 29.

We all have computers everywhere-in the home, at the office, and even in our cars and phones. With all of the technology in our lives, hacking is a major risk.

Computer expert Matt Ham has been helping us protect our devices from hackers during the I-Team’s Digital Danger series.

This comes after the recent WikiLeaks report that explains how the government can get into your devices.

“The CIA was potentially using malware to get into the computers,” said Ham.

“They can track conversations you’re having on phones or get around passwords,” he said.

To better secure a computer or laptop, Ham suggests antivirus software.

“A working antivirus is continuously updated and protects you from a certain amount of hacks,” said Ham.

Ham says to also take updates when your computer suggests it. It will patch any holes that hackers may have caused.

“If you have Windows, run the Windows update,” he said.

When surfing the web, be picky about your Wi-Fi. Ham says don’t trust one that’s public.

“Using Wi-Fi that is only password enabled … that can prevent hackers from getting into your device,” Ham said.

Ham also suggests locking your device with a password. Change that password often, and make it unique.

“[Don’t use] ‘password’ as your password,” he said.

On the internet, people often get scammed though phishing emails.

“Phishing is when someone will send you a message to try to get you to give them information. They’re literally fishing for information,” Ham said.

College student Abigail Ogden doesn’t trust the camera built into her laptop.

“I keep that marked off if I’m not Facetiming or on Skype,” Ogden said.

But for others, connectivity is part of a routine, and is engrained in their lifestyle.

“I don’t think about [cyber security] that much. I think people should think about it more. I think internet connection and Wi-Fi are just such a normal part of our daily lives, that we don’t really think our privacy is being invaded,” said another college student.

So, Ham says it’s up to the user to control what he or she puts on the World Wide Web to any potential hackers.

“Just be vigilant. Understand what you’re sharing, and who you’re sharing it with is probably the number one thing you can do,” Ham said.
