The Oba of Benin, Oba Erediauwa, has dismissed the
rumour that he had passed on.
The speculation on the monarch’s demise had gone viral on the Internet on Friday morning.
The rumour also intensified with the claim that the Oba did
not personally receive President Goodluck Jonathan, during his February 4 presidential rally in Benin, the Edo State capital.
But the Benin Traditional Council, told our correspondent
on Friday evening that it was a mere speculation, which
had been on for over six months and lacked truth.
The Secretary to the council, Mr. Frank Irabor, explained
that it was the responsibility of the council to issue a
formal statement, if such a development did occur.
He said, “They have been peddling that rumour for more
than a year now, because the Oba has not been coming
out.
“If there is anything like that, there is usually a statement
from the palace or from the Benin Traditional Council.”
Although the spokesperson did not specify whether or not
the Oba was hale and hearty, he said that inability of the
President Jonathan to see the monarch, when he visited
the palace, did not give credence to his rumoured death.
“The fact that he has not been coming out, even when the
President came last week, does not mean that there is
anything like that.”
“I don’t bother about rumours. I believe in getting
information from the authentic source. For more than six
months, they have been carrying the rumour,” he added.

I am giving you details of what is happening in the state, am not saying the VP did nt commission any train. what am saying is that the AC factory fitted trains were commissioned(which is commendable ) and then transported from makurdi to God knows where, few days After the VP left( this act is bad nd termed as fraud)......Its a big scam ok. Don't always believe what you see on the media, try to make personal research on issues like this by asking dwellers of such places for confirmation. thanks

THIS IS THE BIGGEST LIE OF THE CENTURY. After the trains had been commissioned by the VP, they were trasported.few days after the visit to other states of the country for commissioning. How long would the federal government keep deceiving the masses who are always suffering from poverty? Pls do not be swayed by the sweet paper talks of the federal government. If you go to the rail station in Makurdi town, you will find out that its all a scam. All the trains that were commissioned wer loaded in a big truck to be transported by road to other states of the country .

Going by the political happenings around the country, GMB may defeat GEJ with a land slide victory. Most of the states that were controlled by PDP have been taken over by APC.

Going by the political activities in Benue state expecially Zone A, you will notice that Suswan despite his flaws has many followers than Gemade. The political mathematics here is this, Suswan will use all the necessary arsenal at his disposal to defeat Gemade in the coming election. Remember that Suswan's candidate Emerge winner in the governorship primaries, and de delegates from Zone A gave him a block vote to defeat other aspirants. That shows that.Suswan who is an incubent still have Loyalist who will do his biddings from His zone. Gemade on the other hand is widely known for his failure as well as his stinginess. If you ask me, i will say Suswan will be more dan willing to give huge amount of money to electorates than Gemade. Also all the local Goverment chairmen in Zone A are loyalists of Suswan because they all came in not through an electoral process but by selection. Gemade would need to mount hard core loyal party agents and observers at polling units to make sure he even secure a vote in the polls. And such loyalist are hard to get because most benue youths basically gullible nd are easily deceived by money.

why are we seeing this for the first time since the beginning of this year? Jona has failed woefully in crucial areas of the country. he has failed in the power sector, also in security issues, Economically and corruption has become the order of the day.
