The word 'Halal' means 'permissible'. which implies that no 'Haram' (forbidden or not permissible for a Muslim to consume) ingredients is used in the making or preparation of the product. so muslims must always check for the word 'Halal' on any product for him/her to know if it can be consumed or not.
