You can say Nigeria is a power in terms of size of troops and equipments but in terms modernization Nigeria is not yet there.
It's recently Nigeria is buying new modernized tanks and jets, for example the T-72 used by the army is old. I even see some videos of soldiers pushing their APC in the battlefield.

Honestly Egypt, Algeria and south Africa are the only Great super powers in Africa.

All African countries are trying hard to be self reliant in security against terror on the continent so when a manufacturer makes an attempt don't discouraged them it's better than just waiting for the Europeans or Asians to do everything...and I must say Nigeria and south Africa are leading in these kind of local machines...I won't be surprised if some west African states starts to import these vehicles from Nigeria in into their country.... that's African unity.
