Again the Mavs problem still remains their putrid free throw shooting. They missed 8!! Lost the game by 7.

The Celtics shot poorly from 3 (25%) and yet the Mavs somehow managed to shoot worse

When you're not doing those things right then the adjustments don't even matter. When your role players can't make open shots and can't play defense nothing you can do

Luka cannot beat Boston by himself. Whether you guard him or not another 23pt half was not sustainable. Bear in mind Luka was questionable to even play.

Did the Mavs also make adjustments on Porzingis Game 1? No.

Some of the turnovers were due to his risky passes. I do recall the Pritchard steal and I think Brown or JB but his wild passes were what led to most of these turnovers

Kyrie has been poor. Made Luka's job harder. Andrew Nembhard played better in your last series than what Kyrie is playing.

Maybe the Mavericks don't just match up well with you guys but the Mavericks are much much better than what I've seen so far.

This is where ownership who are willing to win comes in. They are willing to pay the luxury tax to give them the best shot at winning it all. Brad Stevenn IMHO built a team that is perfect for his two best players, he gave them top end players that can bail them when they are experiencing their lows.
Look at this game Jrue is currently out scoring both the Js with 17, but we all know that sometime in the 2nd half one of the Js will pick up and start making shots and all of a sudden the lead will just increase out of no where.

I really love how everyone, especially on this thread are writing off the Celtics in this series (I don't care about betting lines). You are sharing pretty much the same sentiment I have been talking since the Finals matchup was set. The Celtics will win this series on defense, not necessarily on offense.

It is pretty simple, they are not going to allow both Kyrie/ Luka run this series. They are willing to give up one but not both. They are pretty much saying, we will take out one or both and force the others to make plays that can make them win this series and based on their roster, this is not possible.

We will show Luka/ Kyrie different matchups in JB/ White/ Tatum/ Holiday. We are not going to bite for the double when either Kyrie/ Luka attack the inside, we will cover the perimeter because we know it is a kick out and make the 3 balls more difficult than you experienced against the Wolves. The Celtics are never going to allow Kyrie/ Luka have a go at Porz or situations where he is isolated with either. We will also force Luka and Kyrie to play defense against bigger, better and stronger guards/F like Brown/ Holiday/ White and Tatum.

This is why I asked who their best 3 point shooters are? If the answer is Luka and Kyrie, then it is all settled because PJ isn't consistent enough and he plays better at home but the Celtics have shown they are also great away from home. I will repeat, if the Celtics leave Boston with a 2-0 lead, this series is a wrap.

My problem with the celtics is their Mentality. They have been known to crack under pressure. Luka alone gave the Clippers with prime Kawhi and Paul George, nightmares. I am going to say this. Kyrie was awful yesterday. He better turn up. He doesn't want to get owned by the Celtics just when his stock is rising again.

Modric and Kroos hold their midfield well. They are the main pillar of the madrid team. Once they leave, Madrid will transition its kind of play to suit their fast forwards, just like how Barca's Xavi + Iniesta departure saw them switch from tiki-taka to a very offensive and counter-attacking team with their MSN fast and dangerous forwards.

Madrid is benefitting from a dearth of good competitive footballing teams. Apart from Man City, many teams have fallen off their perch.

Barcelona is a shadow of itself. Bayern is unrecognisable. Atleti can't even defend anymore. PSG, duh! Juve, lost form since 2017. AC, Inter, not as good as they once were. Chelsea and Man Utd, 0. Liverpool also lost form.

In the past 5 - 10 years, you don't see a team of the calibre of this Dortmund make the final (except Chelsea 2012)
