omitobi:Tobi I totally agree..... every Wednesday when we go to Tallinn for lectures we see so many blacks (Nigerians in particular) unlike here in Tartu where we can count ourselves.....lol |
kirikiri100:If you had at least read through properly you would have known that this comment wasn't even needed at all because I never said they are immune to cyber crime. Next time understand the explanation before you go guns blazing over nothing. There is no country on earth that's not susceptible to cyber crime but some countries are better equipped to handle it better than others dues to several factors like facilities, population etc. Try to understand explanations before going ballistic next time. If na exam now na lecturer person go blame but na so e dey take dey easy to fail |
kirikiri100:Nope...... It's not the best place to study IT in the world my brother. The best IT university in the world is still Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) |
jidesam168:TUT and TU (both in Tallinn) accepts lower I think and its based on the department but UT doesn't take lower for any department, if they do then its by God's grace and maybe due to work experience |
uzhi:Uzhi leave am, him think say na Nigeria or na by big name country...... Estonia has more e_services than any country on the planet called earth and we all thought it was a joke until we landed here |
kirikiri100:My brother US dey learn work believe you me. I majored in security and the odds here are just so much in favor of Estonia way more than the US. Do a little bit more of research before you just assume because of big name countries. NATO wasn't foolish to make Estonia the HQ of the cyber security division, in terms of population Estonia is not even as populated as the smallest state in Nigeria (Bayelsa) so it is quite foolish to think that the US with such huge population and almost the same facility would be better at it than them. I'm currently participating in a cyber security training session organized by Oxford University and guess what, they decided to do it in Tallinn. I don't like arguing blindly so if you feel I'm not saying what I'm saying on good authority then no problem because you can explore. They might not catch you immediately but eventually they will.... Mark my words |
Rubbers:Wetin I mean be say Estonia no be rich country like Germany so if na that kind intention then no.need to even bother. Secondly those yahoo boys for thier own good shouldn't come here. I majored in Networking and Security in my Bachelor's and I can say with good authority that Estonian Cybersphere is well secured from my impirical analysis so far and it seems like a wired central connected system. Anyone who plans on doing cyberfraud will be caught one way or another it doesn't matter how long, you will definitely be caught. This country is f**king advanced technologically that I can't help but weep for Nigeria. Anyways we are here to acquire as much knowledge as possible and then come back to implement in Nigeria. |
Sorry for keeping away for a while guys, the life of a software engineering honours msc student isn't an easy one, if you doubt just ask tobi. Its not easy being a student of two different universities at the same time. There's a huge community of Nigerians in Tallinn from what I saw in during my lectures there two days back. Congrats to everyone who is studying here in Estonia, I'm just gonna appeal to everyone here to please keep the flag flying high and not mess up. Lets protect the image of Nigeria this once, just this once please. I know this might sound hysterical but I'd led Nigerian student's abroad and I know thier tendencies to somehow mess up but I'm quite confident on the bunch we have here. For those planning on coming to Estonia, please if you know your intentions aren't clean then don't come because Estonia "go shock you". Try and balance yourself financially and have a clear plan else you would be shocked. If its going to be your first time leaving Nigeria to any cold/temperate region then be prepared to face some harsh realities in terms of weather conditions. If you plan to come to UT prepare to have extremely crazy good grades and to study double time. Lastly Estonia is fun, its quite easy to get carried away, if you know you can't balance your social life with an academic life then its better not to have a social life because the bitter truth is that your academic life would suffer. In all its important to have fun, drink beer and meet girls (if you do those kind of stuffs) but don't ever forget your primary aim of coming here...... Best of luck to each and everyone of you |
Okay everyone, I've arrived safely without any hitches |
kenigbolo:Kenya Airways are very good at not getting the luggage on board your connecting flight asap so let's just pray that Turkish Airlines would be different |
omitobi:It's the time difference between when your flight lands and when your connecting flight takes of. For the Turkish Airlines it's an hour but trust me when I say it's more like 15minutes than one hour. Your luggage also might not come out on time |
uzhi:Uzhi now that's what I'm talking about.... A lot of people have no idea about what it all is. I've been to Europe before for a semester (Germany) and I know a lot about the stigmatisation given to the Nigerian passport and the normal series of questions they usually ask. Nonetheless I've also learned an important lesson concerning the bus experience though Matt at the embassy here told me a few stuffs about it late on Wednesday evening when we were discussing. I guess I'd take a straight bus directly from the Airport to Tartu since I happen to be one of the very few guys who would be studying there. Anyways for those who would use Turkish Airlines to Tallinn, be very careful, the transfer time is just about 30 minutes so you've got to be smart. I got stuck in Kenya for 9 hours because of stuff like that |
omitobi:Tõbi how far WhatsApp me....... Let's know how to link up 2mao |
Clefcentfelix:Totally up to you to Bro....... Wouldn't have hurt to update the house that you arrived Estonia safely or that you got your visa hassle free. I see it more like a testimony and an encouragement for the others who plan to embark on the long trip next year |
Almost everybody who came to India and are on this forum have collected thier visas and even left India, I wonder why none of them have said anything yet. The few who are left would get thiers between Monday and lastest by Tuesday. Anyways I've gotten mine but I'm in no rush to leave Delhi just yet :-) intending to leave on Sunday or Monday all things being equal. It was visa galore on Wednesday as over 10 of us were issued our visas |
Arrived new Delhi today...... Went straight from the airport to the embassy. There was no stress and nothing complicated. All these proof of relationship etc wasn't requested from me when they saw my parents name and the bank account details. Very few documents and I was told to come pick up my visa on the 24th....... Flight reservation was a one way ticket. God speed everyone |
As God would have it I have collected my one month Indian visa and I leave the shores of this country tomorrow. Saw Omitobi today also and it was visa galore at the embassy here in Lagos. God would continually see us all through...... Amen |
omitobi:Tõbi go to our schools website and download the pdf on residence permit. It would serve as a guideline for you. |
roselex:Rose to get the Indian visa you have to fill the Indian visa form online. At the end after you've finished filling you would be given an appointment date (by now the dates would be for October thereabouts). If your appointment date is far simply print out your form and go to the embassy for rescheduling. For an entry visa it takes just 3 working days |
As God would have it, today at the Indian embassy in Lagos my visa application was granted. It's been God all the way....... For those still awaiting thier visa I wish you all the best..... We're all getting there |
uzhilove:One way flights reservation Now things just keep getting better. I Don dey reason this matter for some time now already cuz a return ticket Na waste of cash in my opinion. Anyways what airline did you book and how much does it cost? Prayer right now is that they allow you to travel o! No be when u reach airport them go come ask of return ticket o! |
bolig:Just use bank transfer, it takes three days and it's hassle free. |
sobastical:Bro, if you can just paste the content here. The lady emailed me to tell her what I wanted the letter to contain. |
sobastical:Abeg send me a message lemme get yours so I'd compare it to what I have. Because it's only the email that's different from the admission letter email on my own |
sobastical:The attached document to the email is my admission letter actually. It was initially included in my application. Was your own attachment different? The Egypt embassy in Ghana hasn't still gotten back to me yet so I want to follow up this India own properly. My friend with his Portharcourt passport was attended to in Abuja by God's alright grace |
Hi everyone, Just to update the house, my appointment at the Indian embassy Lagos was rescheduled from 21st September to 7th of August. The consular minuted on my application that the school should send a letter to them through an email he wrote on the form. I emailed the school (UT) and gave them the information and in less than 5 minutes the email had been sent and I was actually copied. Gradually we'd all get there |
Afeti:Collins Bank Transfer is the best option for Africa because swisscare only accepts credit cards and not debit cards from Africa. I used my ecobank account back there in Ghana and it was transfered in 3days, got my contract on the fourth day after emailing them. Bank transfer in Ghana is quite easy. If you use Ecobank I'd advise you use the Accra mall branch, the guy really knows the transfer stuff and they'd simply deduct from your cedis account |
Hi everyone..... Been away for a while, had to go to Ghana for about a month. Had my valid residence permit so I went to apply at the Egyptian embassy over there at Accra whilst I was away. Still awaiting their response though. Congratulations to all who have gotten their visas, see y'all in Estonia. Quick question though, heard that the Indian high commission is Abuja really doesn't attend to those without a passport issued there in Abuja or up north, so what happens in a situation when the passport isn't issued there but the person resides there? Just curious because someone actually complained to me yesterday on Facebook concerning this..... |
Please can someone help me with the accepting offer procedure? I think I am in the same boat as expensivestevie or his brother as the case may be. I have been accepted to TUT and I still do not have a way of accepting the offer. If there is anyone here who has accepted an offer, the person should kindly tell us how he/her accepted it, For the record, TUT's response time is quite slow nevertheless the email I got from them stated that when I log into my dreamapply account, I would see that I have two replies, I should click on the reply and open the letter which says I have been accepted. After that I should accept the offer. Everything actually did work accordingly until it got to the part of accepting the offer because after I clicked the mail, it just appeared "conditionally accepted" with the entire contents of the email but there was still no way to accept the offer. Somebody who has accepted should please help me out |
