explosiveskull: Brother I didn't say chest size is used to calculate BMI cos I know duri Brother I didn't say they use chest size to measure BMI, during my own medicals, my chest was measured while I was told to breathe in very deep, so I assumed the chest size was used to access how much muscle tissue that I had since I do gym then and my BMI was in the overweight region. Chest size is not used for BMI but maybe to ascertain if your overweight is from muscles or just fat that is my assumption not that it is in anyway used for measuring BMI, hope you understand now. So were you now evicted for being overweight citing your BMI? |

PRISTINEMUSCLES: Oga, shift go one side. Myoglobin release to the blood stream occurs during severe muscular damage which can never be due to just "chopping" iron. Although resistance training can cause minute damage to the muscle cells( myocytes) but good food and proper rest will see to the rejuvenation and increase in size of the myocytes.
No cause for alarm. Why the "shift go one side"? Your position isn't far from his. He never said gym goers should stop training, rather they should be careful to avoid the possibility of the muscle damage you mentioned. |

ugo4u: By December all teachers without TRCN will be sacked that's the memo that's going round in schools, of a truth the way school heads are hammering on this thing, me sef want to believe it's serious because it's hasn't being this hot before. Education corp and Medical corp won't be excused for certification during NASB, engineers may be exempted but on the condition that course of study is accredited once in, they will begin to pester you for COREN your promotion might depend on this. However engineering graduates are expected to be registered with NSE, it is very very simple for now because luckily no exams for 2yrs running now and upon payment of about 3000 naira registration fee you will get your certificate in 3 days unlike b4 were it took almost 4months. You're absolutely spot on. I approached one man during the exam last June, he told me he'll be retiring in less than 2 years but doesn't want any stories. The TRCN license is usually renewed after 3 years, so he said he won't be needing any renewal since he must have retired before the expiration if the one he'll will getting after the exams. That was when I know how serious this government are taking the issue. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Nigerian Army SSC And DSSC 2016/2017 Forum by KennethNnolim(m): 10:39am On Sep 10, 2019 |
jameh48: You must prepare, and take examination to have a TRCN certificate. It is a professional certification that proves you are a qualified teacher, and educationist, so, my brothers, and sisters don't waste your time thinking you can get it just like that. The only exception is when you were given just after graduation having applied for those who hold a B.Ed from a University. If you have not gotten yours, you have to wait for their next examination which will be next year. The last examination which TRCN conducted was three weeks ago, and results of candidates who passed will soon be released. There are people who pass, and fail. The other thing you need to know is that TRCN is a branch of the Ministry of Education, and a directive on ground is that anyone in the education line especially teachers who are not registered with the TRCN by December, 2019 will be arrested as unqualified teachers, and whichever institution hosting such teachers will be indicted. The truth is, you cannot go through the back door in this case. Aside from the certificate, there is also a license which TRCN issues which you also must apply for, and they are renewable every year. It is not a matter of quality not quack manifestations now. The Education sector is truly being sanitized. I am in the system, so, I know what I am telling you. Do it the right way because in this case there is no compromise. I wrote the last exam which was actually on the 8th of June, the results came out in July, and there were lots of failures. Those that passed have to pay for the registration and certificate, the cost depends on your qualification (NCE, B.Ed, Masters, PGDE). The certificate is expected before the end of the year. Meanwhile the next exam is scheduled for next month. |

Jhennie: Haa... Uniabuja no sabi this one nah.. I even have a pure B.A in English and not education.. I just hope TRCN will answer us and give us positive results. Universities no longer issue the certificate, with your B.Ed you must apply and then sit for the Professional Qualification Examination (PQE) which holds twice every year. If you ain't a graduate of education then you must have your PGDE to be eligible. The certificate comes out after 4 months, that's if you pass. The next exam will be this October and the application is closed already. |

KODACK: This is the general format bro.
BMI = your weight (kg) / the square of your height (m)
BMI = kg/m²
For most adults, an ideal BMI is in the 18.5 to 24.9 range. If your BMI is:
below 18.5 – you're in the underweight range
between 18.5 and 24.9 – you're in the healthy weight range
between 25 and 29.9 – you're in the overweight range
between 30 and 39.9 – you're in the obese range
Now, with the above....am sure you can know your BMI bro....
But the issue here is this, we don't really know if the army have their own specific standard which they follow or they follow the general standard.
To be on the safe side bro....just stay within the range of 18.5 -29.9 .
Kindly note that your BMI is significant to your age as well ....not sure if that would be put in consideration by the army Thanks very much... I appreciate |

KODACK: I get your point.
Don't use the phrase "be guided" anyhow again ......cos it's only used for people who go astray, which I'm sure am not......
Oga, when you want something.....you go extra mile to get it......I have read through page 1 to current page cos I don't wanna go amiss while applying..... I read all the drama and fun.
And I have asked only one question here cos it was never discussed, ever .... Which is "what's the BMI range in the army?"...... cos the army range might be different from the general medical range, and note...it wasn't part of the registration, it was for me to prepare for the task ahead........ Those are the kind of questions we want to hear.
We wanna hear questions pertaining screening, chawusing, fun, race, and so more......not about the registration......cos a thousand answers have been given to even unasked questions.
I really don't mean to rubbish anyone's personality.....am just having fun........ Just feel free to express yourself and ask questions...... Love you all. I'm also interested in the BMI issue here. I read here that some candidates was called back alongside mama Taraba last January after BMI issues. Please anyone with more information on that? |

Please those that were at the last screening this January, some people said they were recalled after they initially failed the medical due to high BMI (I mean mama Taraba and co). Can you help us throw more light on the issue of BMI and possibly the reason why you guys were called back? Was there any form of consideration based on your height and body type (eg athletic)? Thanks. |

iamswish: Here’s what I know about the medicals, talking from my experience as a recruitment official last year. 1) Have a good sight(long sightedness) 2) Don’t be flat footed 3) Have a broad chest 4) Asthmatic patient will not be allowed 5) Measure the required height 6) Be able to run 3.5km under 10/15minutes(for guys) unless they’ll close the gate and you wouldn’t be able to enter, please for this part don’t eat heavily or take drugs like tramadol because the one I was a part of as an official some persons died. So start training. 7) Have a good dentition
Your navel must be inside(not having umbilical hernia) 9) You must not have pile disease, Just so you know you all would be naked in the hospital room and you’ll have to bend down opening your anus and coughing at the same time for them to confirm if there’s any pile. Confirm that all your documents are intact. A single mistake in DOB can screen you out. Feel free to ask questions if you wish. Regards! Please, on the dentition issue, I removed a tooth but it's not visible from the outside. Do I have to put a denture there to cover it up or leave it like that since it will still be discovered? What is the possibile implication? |

ijesuoboikxp1: I'm trying to sign up but it is showing BVN already taken or use by a valid-user on the website what is happening
And this is my first time registering This can only mean that someone has used a random number which happens to be your BVN to register (probably a double registration trying to increase his chances of being selected). If this happens to be the case then it's not fair on ourselves. These people doing this must have gone through the thread and read that BVN details doesn't matter now until documents vetting when shortlisted. But we should be mindful of hindering a brother's progress out of selfishness. I think the only possible solution is for you to try using random numbers since they won't be verified until during screening. |

Advice to those intending to join the military.
Don't let unemployment drive u to join the Armed Forces. The overriding reasons should be passion to serve and deep love for the nation. Without the overriding reasons, you become a problem to the military, your family and yourself. Furthermore when the reality of combat comes, you would refuse to face it. The military is service to the nation and humanity not an employment outfit for everyone, which requires courage and strong desire to give your all...This should not sound as a demoralisation to those who applied. But those that reason well will understand... #GodBlessNigeria #GodBlessTheArmedForces #GodBlessAllAgenciesCarryingArms |

ugo4u: Apply for corp similar to your course of study, maybe Finance or supply and transport. When they first opened the portal economic and marketing where listed under S&T, but seems like they've removed it, just try sha. In the column for corp just select different corps then go to the column for discipline and check if your course will pop up, sometimes some courses are listed in some corp but they didn't appear in the advertisement.
Another extreme measure will be to open a new account and tactically change the last digit of ur BVN in order for you to apply (making it look like an innocent error), then if you're shortlisted you go with the correct stuff and if asked why the discrepancy (which I don't think they would), you speak all the English wey dey ur head convincingly, you have to bring ur A game in lying. The BVN won't stop you from being shortlisted for the first stage.
So choose the lesser evil, you don already do mistake. Your criminal mind saves life mehn... You go still make heaven lass lass |
