I have not really hacked the LinkedIn way, I currently trying to do that by optimizing my profile first before I start applying for job.

Apart from that, what I do on Twitter( also apply for LinkedIn) is that I documents my project( real project that target specific field eg e-commerce or financial institution) on a blog( dev.to or hashnode), I then share this on my Twitter page.
I also create thread to share what I learned in my field(data analytics) or a dashboard I just created. This post are usually seen by potential client and they won't mind sending you messages if they are currently in need of your skills.

Not really, after acquiring the skills I went on a break (school) for more than 6months I just resumed back trying to set up my portfolio and apply for jobs or gigs. Aside that I have also gotten freelance work from Twitter as I am active there.
