MTN Foundation Scholarship Award for Nigerian students is offered annually by Nigeria’s biggest telecommunication company to undergraduate students in Nigeria universities, polytechnics, and college of educations who are in their third-year level of study and show outstanding academic performance. If you are eligible and interested, read the procedures below on how to apply.

MTN Foundation Scholarship Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for the MTN Scholarship, students must be in their third year (300L) in any University in Nigeria.

Applicants should also know that Eligible applicants must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 and above and must maintain this until graduation to retain the scholarship.

Now, you might be wondering what courses are eligible to apply?…


A maximum of 500 qualified and successful full-time Nigerian students studying science and technology-related courses are awarded the scholarship which covers tuition, book allowance, and stipends.

Last year, MTN awarded its Scholarship to 300 normal students and 300 blind students….isn’t that amazing.

However, the scholarship is for only Nigerian citizens or International Students who possess Nigerian citizenship. Also, the scholarship is written online in Nigeria.

In summary, please note that that the MTN Scholarship Schemes is for (Science & Technology and Blind Students).

For blind students with 2.5 CGPA and must be in his/her 2nd year be it any course.
For science and technology students with 3.5 CGPA and must be in his/her 3rd year.

Candidates who chose Federal University of Technology, Owerri as First Choice University in the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are hereby invited to apply for an aptitude test, provided such candidates scored a minimum of 180 in their UTME. UTME Candidate must have scored a minimum of 180 in their UTME
Direct Entry candidates must be holders of OND/HND/First Degree and A’ Level in relevant discipline and subjects.
Those who did not choose FUTO as First Choice University but scored a minimum of 180 can also apply on the condition that they visit the JAMB website for a change of Institution.

Duration of the Aptitude Test
Application commences on Friday, June 21, 2019, and closes on Friday, July 12, 2019.

As part of measures to improve efficiency and integrity of the selection processes, the Federal Scholarship Board, Federal Ministry of Education has adopted the Computer Based Test (CBT) for the conduct of the 2018/2019 Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) nomination interviews.

Below is what is required before applying…

There’s NO entrance exam anyone who is interested just signs up and is inducted. Because the internship is hosted online there is no problem with having high numbers of interns and the numbers are trimmed down pretty easily as the internship progresses.

Last time around the payout for interns who were participating and progressing was $20/week. HNG is yet to confirm whether there will be a payout this time around but that shouldn’t be a hindrance to your registration as at the end of the day you’re still learning lessons that are being applied on an actual real-life project. We will update the article once that information has been made clearer to us.
