Valdés conceded 31 goals in his 35 games (La liga), equating to an average of 0.89 goals a game. Second placed Andrés Palop (Sevilla) is on 1.03. Even if Palop kept clean sheets in his two remaining matches, his average would become 0.97, so he would not be able to catch up with Valdés.

Not many goalkeepers have had the honour of winning this award more than once.
