Yes, it is one of the main ingredients in Gumbo which consist of shrimp, crab, chicken, sausage, tomatoes, corn, peppers, and onions cooked in a delicious rioux (sauce/gravy) and served with rice and cornbread.

Yes, it is mixed in a Batter of flour, eggs, milk, and spices.
Okra was brought to America through the slave trade, along with (ground nuts) peanuts, black eyed peas, casava melons and more.

Not only women pictures, it's just that people like us have developed a thick skin for whatever they are serving.
