Players burn out when they press without result, especially when all contacts are blown as foul.
I understand your point, but I as a member of the school of thought that it was a 50/50 match before the game , know such decisions will surely tilt the game in favor of the host

TheGoodJoe:
The poor officiating does not stop us for pressing and disrupting the play of the Moroccans. The environment does not stop us from playing our game.

That was a decision the coach took and prepared the team for before the match. Chelle messed things up.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by khunz: 12:22am On Jan 15
Fold up? I disagree! Could we have done better?Yes
But bear in mind the environment and I am still baffled on some overlooked yellow cards against the Moroccans
This is entirely different from our 2nd half upward performance against Dr Congo where we folded

TheGoodJoe:
Today, we did not do our best. If we did our best and lost, I won't have any problem. But, to fold up and hand the game to the Moroccans. That is unforgivable.

Theoretically we all know better. Let us just appreciate that we did our best.
Room for improvement?Yes
Could we have played better ? Yes
But they gave their all and blocked glaring loopholes shown during world cup qualifiers.
We move.

TheGoodJoe:
Which one is nagging. I am pointing out where we went wrong and how we can learn from it you are talking nagging.

Nobody is weeping to bed.
We lost on penalty which could have gone either way.

Afobear:
grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

Many will weep to bed tonight and avoid this page ...but I will be here to remind you daily

I share the same opinion , but those wingers can't support the defense which would have left us further exposed

Spainever:
I said the same thing why not bring wingers and let them cross balls . The coach got it wrong

Really proud of this team and they should be proud as well.

We move on.

African football has not gotten that bad.
For example the South African referee stood firm against that penalty call against us

honestly I don’t trust caf at all. Let’s get a written and signed confirmation letter from FIFA organization please before making any decision

Good observation but RED CARD will fall on them

joelsteron:
If Ndidi is not serving yellow cards and will play on Sunday, doesn't that means Nigeria should expect a very rough match since yellow cards are useless afterall.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by khunz: 2:35pm On Nov 15, 2025
Caf has confirmed Ndidi can playyy.
Reason:Cautions accumulated during qualifiers is not applicable in play-off
That should be enough
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by khunz: 12:00pm On Oct 13, 2025
Super Eagles problem is not always caused by formation but mostly their inability to bury simple scoring chances.Misses upon misses.
Based on this , if we are fortunate to be clinical , we will score the number of goals required because we will surely create chances.
Hopeful goals fortune will be with them on Tuesday.

Congrats to the boys for a hard won victory.
Excellent goalkeeping for Harcourt so far in this competition.
Also , the defense is good and we did not expose ourselves too often, but more all round improvement for the world cup.

Subzerooo:
I don’t see the use of Iheanacho if Iwobi will play in a two man midfield, Moses Simon can atleast fill up the space left by Iwobi if he is drawn towards the 18 yard box, Iheanacho is just useless
I believe this is make or mar for Kelechi , if he fumbles, he will get humbled and tumbled out of GWG team

What’s the fate of our noisy bredas 😂
If they (Ghana)beat Angola tomorrow , the group will be thrown open, they will surely beat Niger at home in the last match and I cant see sudan beating Angola.
So all depends of the outcome of their match against Angola tomorrow.

1) We need to know and appreciate ourselves as people of a Nation. Historically some African countries (mostly North African countries)intentionally ill inform their host nation about arrival date , time and venue especially when the first keg is taking place in the host nation .This I know since 80s , so they can claim ill treatment( even when you are near perfect) and dish out same for the return leg. This Libya did!
2) Watch that match against us again , you will see that the 100% intention is to play draw. This incidence now made me understand their intention for the return leg.
3)In the group we are not desperate when they came for the match , so no need for us to
be hostile to them , coupled with the fact that we are going for the 2nd leg in an unstable nation.
4)Why would caf allow matches in country with dual government.

I understand need to get to the root cause of issues, but you cannot cure headache by cutting the child's head off.THIS LIBYA PLANNED DOING!!! So for me , there is no room to be asking about what caused the headache at this point.
Thank you

TheGoodJoe:
You are just regurgitating what we already know.

The point is that the Libyans were stranded at UYO. What contingency plans were made by the NFF to salvage the situation?

Good run from our players , we saw determination ,unity ,love and sense of purpose which has been lacking in our football for a while.
We were not perfect, yet got to the final.
That is the beauty of this beautiful run which we should not deprive ourselves of enjoying.
Even when we had great footballing legs in africa , we got used to bronze.
With proper player upgrade , we will enjoy our football as a nation again.
I am not happy about the outcome ,but many football pundits , analysts ,fans , fanatics , home base lovers , foreign based player converter lovers, never saw us in the finals including my novice me.
LOUDLY SPEAKING,THIS HAS BEEN OUR BEST RUN ,AFTER 2013 AFCON.
