Celebrities / I Want A Man Who Will Love Me And Love My Child – Actress Yvonne Jegede by kidap: 9:01am On Jun 06, 2020
Nollywood actress and entrepreneur, Yvonne Jegede has opened up on her next course of action regarding her love life.

Yvonne Jegede who separated from her husband after divorcing him revealed in an interview with Mr. Paul on Instagram live chat she wants to marry again but this time there is a condition a man must meet first.

The mother of one noted said that he would want to marry a man who will love her and love her child to the fullest.

“Yes, I did surgery (liposuction) on my stomach after I had my son; so, that made me look curvier. I had the surgery here in Nigeria. I don’t have issues with anyone on earth; I do whatever I want with myself and body.

“I would want to remarry if I find somebody who would love me and love my child. Because, right now, my child is the most important person in my life. I wouldn’t want to marry someone who wouldn’t love my son as much as he would love his own child. He has to love my child 100%, love me too and then the feeling is mutual.

“For my ex-husband, I am not a bitter woman. I am not the kind of woman who would swear for her husband or boyfriend if all didn’t go well. My house is open for my son’s dad to come and see him anytime. In my house, there’s a standing law; you don’t curse or insult my son’s father for any reason whatsoever. The fact that we are no longer married doesn’t mean I should go about laying curses (on him),”
she stated.

Speaking further, the thespian cum model reiterated her undying passion for acting.

“I can’t quit acting 100%. Just like my ex mother-in-law of blessed memory, Bukky Ajayi, she acted till her very last minute. I loved her so much, I still do. Acting is a profession that you can do until it’s your memorial. I could quit but not totally, after all, I am an entertainment person. Born in the industry. I’ll be forever here. If not acting, doing all other related stuff. Aside from that, I am a very happy and humble person, my happiness is on default. I don’t need someone to ginger my happiness; it is always there 24/7. As a human, sometimes I get upset, I get pissed, but it doesn’t last long. I don’t pretend. I am still the same girl you see on the screen, happy, cheerful and humble.”

Celebrities / Prophet Omale Distributing Food Stuffs, Relief Materials To Abuja Residents by kidap: 8:22am On Jun 06, 2020
Some residents of the Federal Capital Territory and Mararaba community of Nasarawa state have continued to reflect on act of kindness recently displayed by the General Overseer of Divine Hand of God Prophetic Ministries International Abuja, Prophet Dr. Emmanuel Omale.

Prophet Omale, in the heat of the COVID-19 lockdown had reached out to Abuja residents living in the Area 1 axis of the Federal Capital Territory and the densely populated Mararaba area in Nasarawa, precisely on April 18 and 19, 2020, respectively.
An eyewitness account confirmed that Prophet Omale and his team shared already prepared food to people who trooped out in their droves during the outreach. “The man of God and his people came with a lot of food and drinks. They also gave raw rice and many other things needed in the home at Area 1 and Mararaba,” the eyewitness said.

In a chat with a benefactor of Prophet Omale, Ibrahim Alkali, he said ” my life has not been the same since I came in contact with Prophet, a lot have change in me, and now during this COVID-19 period, he came to my rescue.
“Thank you very much prophet,” he said.

A community leader, Abdulmalik Alhassan expressed his happiness at the act of love displayed by the Prophet Omale at a time government’s COVID-19 palliative promise was yet to materialise.
“I’m very happy that people like this are still in this world, my prayer is that God will continue to increase him on all side. People must copy such good deed and kind-hearted pastor, so that the world becomes a better place,” he said.

Another eyewitness said he was thrilled because Prophet Omale never looked at tribe or religious affiliation before giving out foods and gifts. He added that the man of God went as far as personally feeding people living with different forms of disabilities.

In a chat with Prophet Omale, he said the outreach was in obedience to God’s instruction.
“God instructed me to feed people during COVID-19 pandemic.”
He urged people to be kind and help people, at least starting with their next door neighbour.

Crime / George Floyd Autopsy Reveals He Has Coronavirus Before His Death by kidap: 8:31am On Jun 04, 2020
The full autopsy report for George Floyd has been completed by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner and it reveals he tested positive for COVID-19 in early April … though he was likely asymptomatic at the time of his death.

The 20 page analysis details most of what we already know, Floyd became unresponsive and died while pinned to the ground by 3 police officers.

However, a section of the report says George tested positive for COVID-19 on April 3.

As we reported, George’s family hired Dr. Michael Baden to complete a private autopsy.

Baden’s report found Floyd’s cause of death to be “death from asphyxia” after the Hennepin County concluded he had a heart attack while being restrained by cops, with underlying medical conditions including hypertension and possible drugs or alcohol.

The final report from Hennepin on Wednesday says Floyd had, “no injuries of anterior muscles of neck or laryngeal structures.”

Politics / Jackson Ude Writes Petition To The U.S Congress For The Looting In CBN by kidap: 9:04pm On Jun 03, 2020
Jackson Ude writes petition to the U.S Congress for the looting in CBN by Emefiele

The former director of  stretagy and communication under President Jonathan, Jackson Ude has just petitioned the U.S Congress in my capacity as the Coordinator of the Nigerian Young Professional Forum, NYPF, U.S/Caribbean Chapter, for a special congressional hearing on the looting in CBN by Emefiele and gangs, urging Congress to apply the Magnitsky.

Read the petition below..

U.S Congress

Dear Speaker Pelosi, Leader McConnell, Leader McCarthy, Leader Schumer:

CORRUPTION, LOOTING IN CENTRAL BANK OF NIGERIA: A CALL FOR A SPECIAL CONGRESSIONAL HEARING, INVESTIGATION, SANCTIONS ON GODWIN EMEFIELE AND OTHERS

We wish to bring your attention to the wanton looting, brazen stealing and corruption being perpetrated by the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, and members of the inner circle of President Mohammadu Buhari otherwise called the Cabal.

You may wish to recall that President Buhari came to power in 2015 with a pledge to tackle corruption. But no successful prosecutions have happened, and he appears to condone and shield his friends and family members tainted by serious allegations of financial fraud.

Recall also that earlier this year, Transparency International, TI, Corruption Perception Index, perceived Nigeria as one of Africa’s most corrupt countries. Nigeria was ranked 146 out of 180 Countries surveyed worldwide -a slap in the face of President Buhari’s dubious anti- corruption mantra.

The activities of CBN Governor Emefiele have, in no small measure, contributed and continue to contribute to Nigeria’s dubious fight against corruption and further weakened the country’s economy — which largely depends on oil exports and foreign grants.

Between 2015 and 2016, under Emefiele’s watch, CBN conspired with Nigeria's oil corporation, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to illegally divert $24,263,008.56 meant to be shared to 37 states and 774 local councils.

In a leaked tape obtained by Saharareporters.com, one of Nigeria’s leading Investigative news websites, Emefiele and some officials of the CBN were caught discussing how to

cover up the loss of over N500bn (an equivalent of $1.2billion) stolen from the CBN in a private investment that failed. Till date, no one, including Emefiele, has been held accountable.

In a most bizarre manner, the CBN allegedly awarded a contract for the expansion of its parking lot to Bulet International Limited, a company owned by Ismaila Isa Funtua, an ally and confidant of President Mohammadu Buhari at a whopping N30 billion (the equivalent of $77.5million) in 2019. No parking lot extension contract cost that much in the United States.

The contract, which violated Nigeria’s procurement laws, was secretly awarded to Bulet International. No investigation and prosecution have happened despite numerous media reports.

Emefiele has been running the CBN with top members of the Buhari cabal led by Isa Funtua, the owner of Bulet Construction Company and the recently deceased Chief of Staff to President Buhari, Abba Kyari, Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Abubakar Malami, Mamman Daura, Lawan Daura, Babagana Kingibe, Nasir Danu and few others who are all from the Northern part of Nigeria.

What is even more shocking is that Isa Funtua and the cabal have been running a black-market forex cartel worth $800m every week since the beginning of the Buhari administration in 2015. This continued until late 2017 when the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo scaled it down it to $500m when the President was away for medicals.

We were reliably informed that a large portion of the funds stolen through the CBN Governor end up in the coffers of Boko Haram terrorists, armed bandits, and Fulani Jihadists currently ravaging Northern Nigeria.

Almost a hundred percent of the 7,400 murders by Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen since June 2015 were Christians. Fulani militias wipe out whole Christian villages.

Reliable statistics also show that between 11,500 and 12,000 Christians have been massacred since June 2015 when Buhari assumed the Presidency of Nigeria. These statistics are based on careful records kept by church groups that document the names of victims and dates of their murders.

It is our belief that the influx of illicit funds in the hands of the Buhari cabal which end up in the hands of promoters of Boko Haram and armed bandits, is responsible for the spike in attacks on innocent Nigerians by these terrorist groups.

Emefiele and his group of corrupt elements in Nigeria have not only fueled terrorism, but have also encouraged human rights abuses, putting funds in the hands of politicians and cronies who have consistently abused the rights of citizens.

The ripple effect and danger of these inhuman act caused by the major Financial Actors in Nigeria has it's negative implications to the international community with the worrisome increase in irregular migration, regional insecurity, growing rate of cybercrime, organized kidnapping of vulnerable citizens, economic instability, youth unemployment and lack of proper identity management system.

Nigeria, as the most populous black Nation in the world will continue to keep the stronger nations like the U.S and European countries busy with negative vices, if these issues of corruption are not deliberately dealt with, with serious sanctions and immigration restrictions.

Our Demands:

· Convene a Special Congressional Hearing on Corruption in Nigeria and the Central Bank of Nigeria under President Mohammadu Buhari;

· Place Godwin Emefiele, Abubakar Malami, Nasir Danu, Babagana Kingibe, Samaila Isa Funtua, Abubakar Isa Funtua and all those linked with the corruption in CBN and on the U.S watchlist;

· Invoke the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaties (MLATs) with Nigeria and obtain banking and other financial records on the dealings involving Emefiele, Bulet International owned by Samaila Isa Funtua and Abubakar Isa Funtua;

· Invoke the Global Magnistky Act and Place Visa restrictions on Godwin Emefiele, Abubakar Malami, Ismaila Isa Funtua, Abubakar Isa Funtua, Mamman Daura, Lawan Daura, Babagana Kingibe and Nasir Danu, their families and others linked with the corruption in CBN.

We are prepared to testify under oath in Congress and provide all necessary documents to aid the speedy investigations of all the claims listed.

The Nigeria Young Professional Forum, U.S/Caribbean for which I lead is willing to use all legal means necessary in bringing an end to corruption in Nigeria to give her young population a new lease of life for a better future. We will not hesitate to approach the courts in the U.S in this regard.

Sincerely,

Jackson Ude

Coordinator, NYPF, U.S/Caribbean

Politics / African Youth Body Calls For The Removal And Prosecution Of Akinwunmi Adesina by kidap: 6:48pm On Jun 03, 2020
An African youth body under the Aegis of African Youths for Integrity has called for the immediate removal, probe and prosecution of The President of the African Development Bank, Akinwunmi Adesina in line with recommendation of the United States of America.

Leader of the youth body Comrade Mutuli has accused Mr Adesina of massive corruption, Nepotism, Political interferences, Sponsoring politicians in African countries to leadership positions amongst others since he took over the leadership of the African Development Bank on 1st September, 2015.

The body has aligned with the United States to call for an independent probe of Mr Adesina for working against developmental activities in Africa, rather engaged in politics and giving of loan to friends, Nigerian banks, allies and countries that he has relationship with its Presidents.
The youth body alleges that Mr Adesina has refused to give loans to struggling African countries but gives to the ones whose Economy is stable, negating the objectives of setting up the bank which is for development of less developed countries.

The youth body has called on Mr Adesina to stop running around looking for African leaders to save him instead of facing the probe. This development has shown that Mr Adesina is guilty of the allegations against him hence he is drumming up sympathy from corrupt African leaders.

The group also condemns Nigeria’s former President Olusegun Obasanjo for calling on past African leaders to support Mr Adesina and shield him from corruption related probe.

The group has called on all anticorruption youth groups in the African continent to prepare for a massive demonstration in front of the African Development bank headquarters in Abidjan, Ivory Coast on Thursday 18th June, 2020.

The youth body is also calling on youths in all the 81 membership countries of the African Development Bank to join in the demonstration in their respective countries.

All demonstrations must comply with social distancing rules and remain peaceful.

We will release further information and website before the date of demonstration and what to inscribe on your placards.

Floyd died at the hands of Minneapolis police last week as former officer Derek Chauvin kneeled on his neck and two other officers restrained him.

A fourth officer stood by as it happened. The former officers have all been fired by the department but only Chauvin has been charged in the death.

Crime / Photos: George Floyd Murder Derek Chauvin Moved To Max-security Prison by kidap: 11:46am On Jun 02, 2020
Derek Chauvin -- the former Minneapolis PD officer charged with the murder of George Floyd -- has a new jail cell for now ... he's been transferred to a maximum-security prison.

Chauvin's been sent to the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Oak Park Heights near the city of Stillwater, after spending part of Sunday at the Hennepin County Jail. It's protocol for inmates to get new mug shots when they're transferred.

The ex-cop was originally held at the Ramsey County Jail after being arrested Friday and charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter in Floyd's death.

According to the Department of Corrections ... the Oak Park Heights prison is the highest custody level in Minnesota's system, and several inmates -- like Chauvin -- need a higher level of security.

DOC Commissioner Paul Schnell says this kind of transfer is not uncommon -- the same thing happened when former Minneapolis cop, Mohamed Noor, was taken into custody in the killing of Justine Damond -- and it was requested by the Hennepin County Sheriff.

Chauvin was one of 4 officers fired over Floyd's death, but so far he's the only one arrested and charged.

Chauvin was the cop who pressed his knee on Floyd's neck for close to 9 minutes ... including more than 2 minutes after Floyd was unresponsive.

Celebrities / Kika Osunde: Luxury, Finesse And Brand Reputation by kidap: 4:35pm On May 31, 2020
Kika Osunde is a beauty and luxury hair enthusiast. Widely known as KikaGoodHair, the openly passionate Kika’s product and service credibility have earned her a place in and outside of Nigeria. The Guardian Life speaks to her on luxury, kindness and discovered talents.

Who is Kika Osunde?
My name is Kika-Ose Osunde and I’m the co-founder of Good Hair Ltd and Brass & Copper Lifestyle Ltd. I was born and bred in the UK with a degree in Business and Marketing. I’m the last of four children and am from Agbor in Delta State. I shuttle between Nigeria and the UK where I run my businesses simultaneously with my business partners. I consider myself as a fun, assiduous ‘BE’ (beauty enthusiast).

What has been your coping mechanism at this time (lockdown)?

I’ve stayed very close to my family. We all decided to quarantine together which was the best decision we made as we went through all the mental and emotional turmoils of a global pandemic together.
I’ve also been exploring my new found hidden talent in cooking, where I create different cuisines daily and share the processes and recipes with my followers. This has been an unexpected hit actually.
I also stay busy by creating content for both Good Hair and Brass & Copper as well as attending to clients online and ensuring that all orders are prepared and dispatched on time given the crisis.
My partner Chioma and I are also actively working on some new ideas which we will be releasing soon so stay tuned!

How do you see the future of luxury fashion and beauty post-pandemic?
I think that the future of luxury fashion and beauty, contrary to what most people predict, is pretty bright. That largesse has ultimately trickled down to fashion and beauty brands which most women have unknowingly occupied their time reacquainting with this period. As we can imagine, luxury fashion & beauty houses will continue to invest heavily in digital and e-commerce initiatives. I believe we will see a surge where existing brands may look to diversify more than ever. It won’t be just about connecting with influencers and social media but more to do with streamlining their supply chain and back end logistics for unforeseeable circumstances in the future.

What are your sales strategies to still keep your global customers?
To maintain and boost sales this period, we have upped our online presence as well as digital marketing strategies. Constant content is churned out daily to ensure that we are at the forefront of people’s minds, connecting with our audience and getting involved in challenges that are uplifting and light-hearted.

There is a global audience and what you decide to do with them is your choice. I’ve not only entertained my followers with hair, beauty, life hacks and cooking tips, but I’ve also organized a few educative webinars to acquaint them with a better understanding of the industry and processes behind the success of our brands.
Post-pandemic, we will implement new strategic methods of digital marketing as well as continue to rise to the new demands of society. We will also ensure that we put all necessary measures in place to ensure the comfort and safety of our clients whilst offering new and improved services to their satisfaction.

A lot of brands are embracing the use of social media to market their products. How are you using social media as a monetization tool?
Both Good Hair and Brass & Copper have quite a following on social media and whilst we put out content to sell, we also ensure that we entertain and educate our followers in the process to keep them engaged. Social Media has actually been a blessing during these times as we had to physically shut down the entire Good Hair space due to the nationwide lockdown.

Do you see a comeback of the traditional methods of running a business?
I honestly think that eventually, things will neutralise to a large extent. Unfortunately, some business will suffer more than others (airlines and hotels) because more and more people are becoming reliant on online meetings and interactions as opposed to the usual travel meetings & conferences. However, for most other businesses, I believe things will return to status quo alongside a safer, more stringent means of a physical interface. Take Good Hair, for instance, luxury personalisation has always been part of our business model. During the period where we see the lockdown being lifted, home service will be more popular than ever.

What is your favourite quote and why?
My favourite quote is by Socrates, “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.”
I came across this quote very early in life and based my morals and principles around this. This quote is extremely relevant through these uncertain times, but more importantly, it is how I build myself and my empire.

Celebrities / Fans Predict Anita Joseph’s Marriage Crash, See Her Reaction by kidap: 11:36am On May 30, 2020
Popular actress, Anita Joseph has reacted after fans predicted that her 3 months marriage will soon crash.

According to the trolls, her marriage will not survive the test of time.

Anita Joseph said “I do” to comedian, Michael Fisayo Olagunju aka MC Fish on February 14, 2020.

In a new interview she spoke at length about her new marriage, attesting that marriage for her is indeed a worthwhile journey.

“For me, marriage has been a marital bliss and will always be. My husband is my friend, so with God on our side, we plan to remain that way. As a newly married actress, I manage my time better. I create more time for my family”.

Reacting to the social media prediction that her marriage would not survive the test of time, just like some of her colleagues, the actress said;

“It’s up to God and man for marriages to end. It takes more personal effort, and that’s what makes marriage to last. My parents were married until death and I intend to leave that example for my kids, with God as my helper.”

“However, if I am to counsel a heartbroken single lady right now, the most important thing she needs to know is that, there is life before (meeting) a man and there will be life after the man. The one who left you will make room for another to come. That’s life.”

Speaking further, Anita disclosed that because of her husband she is very mindful of the kind of erotic roles she accepts.

“I am not really an erotic role-playing actress, but if I get a role like that, and it is all about good interpretation, then my hubby has to approve. I know my husband won’t stop me from acting. He wouldn’t. It is my art and he wouldn’t want me to change, rather he complements and encourages me to achieve more,” she noted.
