"There Is Need Engage More Youths Like Tijani Nwadei In Governance" - Godspower Oshodin
Top Media Entrepreneur and President of the Nigeria Bloggers Forum, Godspower Oshodin has commended the efforts of some Nigerian Governors and other Government officials who engage more Youths in their cabinet.

He stated that, the country will hit it index growth, if youth-based ideas and empowerment programmes are driven accordingly.

"I will like to commend the Governors who are engaging more Youths in their Cabinet. The essence of 'Youths in Governance' is to bridge the gap of sustainable excellence, and create an environment where they can explore their many potentials, knowing fully well they're the driving force of every society.

There are quite a number of smart Nigerian youths who are significantly doing well home and abroad. A Switzerland Journalist friend of mine once told me that 'Nigerians are the best content providers on earth'. That was really inspiring, as there are a couple of amazing persons presently serving at various capacity in Government."

The multiple award winning writer, poet, and founder of 'Naija Gist and Gossips Newpaper' further commends the effort of Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki for appointing an under 40 as Chief of Staff; and also involving other Youth such as Tijani Nwadei in his Cabinet.

"I once met my State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki at the World Trade Centre in Dubai last year, and I told him how impressed i had been that he's a Youth-driven person. And now he has appointed an under 40 as Chief of Staff.

He also has this amazing young man Tijani Nwadei in his team. In 2015 TJ led the strategy team of Mr. Godwin Obaseki Campaign.

At his early 30s he already possesses this awe-inspiring organisational and strategy skills.

At the moment he is Technical Adviser to the Edo State Government under Mr. Godwin Obaseki.

You cannot leave a guy like TJ behind behind, he is armed with expertise in developing sustainable solutions for the peculiar challenges in African market.

Hence his vast knowledge  in Manufacturing, Energy and Agriculture sectors. So there is need to engage more Youths like Tijani Nwadei in Governance", Godspower Oshodin concludes.

Health / UAE Research Institute Finds A Solution On How Treatment Coronavirus by kidap: 9:57am On May 02, 2020
A UAE research institute has developed a breakthrough treatment for COVID-19 which could be a game-changer in the global fight against the virus.

The Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Center (ADSCC) has developed an innovative method which involves extracting stem cells from a patient’s blood and reintroducing them into the lungs via inhalation of a mist, regenerating lung cells and preventing the immune system from overreacting.

The treatment has already successfully undergone an initial phase of clinical trials - with 73 patients making full recoveries without any adverse side effects. The recipients were moderately or severely ill before treatment, with many intubated in an ICU.

More trials are being conducted and we should have a clearer understanding of the treatment’s potential in the coming weeks, but it could have a significant impact on our ability to live with the virus until a vaccine is available.

The ADSCC effort is one of around 60 significant studies in the UAE aiming to produce COVID-19 treatments and improve testing, in line with the UAE Government’s determination to mobilize the country’s resources towards overcoming the virus.

Politics / Amb. Oluchukwu Urge PDP Leaders To Caution Gov. Umahi For Ban On Journalists by kidap: 8:36am On Apr 27, 2020
"PDP Leaders Urged to Caution Gov Dave Umahi for Ban on Journalists"
- Amb. Pascal Oluchukwu

The Chairman and Spoke person of the Association of Ebonyi State Indigenes in the Diaspora, Ambassador Pascal Oluchukwu has urged the leadership of the PDP to caution Ebonyi State Governor, Engineer Dave Umahi, for the unjustifiable ban he placed against some journalists and media organizations from doing their job in the State.

In a Press Statement released to Newsmen in Abuja, on April 26, 2020, the unrelenting Social critic and civil rights advocate, called on the National Leadership of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to wade into the undemocratic Practices of the Governor and ensure that his actions, on behalf of the Party, do not undermine its enviable democratic credentials.

Ambassador Pascal was speaking on the disgraceful and most unwarranted ban placed upon two (2) journalists deployed to the Ebonyi Government House to cover government activities for The Punch and The SunNews media houses respectively.
Against all entreaties from well meaning public spirited individuals and organizations, the PDP Governor has refused to allow these journalists any access to the Government House where they have a legitimate and constitutionally guaranteed duties to perform on behalf of their organizations.
The journalists were being punished not because of their incompetence, but because they have demonstrated independent reasoning and have refused to be corrupted or intimidated on the discharge of their duties.

Ambassador Pascal stated that the Ebonyi Diaspora Association “condemns, in strongest terms, the dictatorial actions of the Governor, who has been ruling the good people of Ebonyi State like a Roman Imperial Proconsul, clearly unaccountable to the democratic tenets that placed him in that position.”

In the circumstances, Ambassador Pascal called on the national leadership of the PDP to rise up to the challenges imposed on its peculiar position to rein in on the Governor and ensure that he remains respectful of democratic norms in leading the government and people of Ebonyi State on its behalf.

He stated that in addition to stopping this undemocratic behavior, “the PDP also needs to caution Governor Dave Umahi against making unguarded and careless utterances capable of undermining the democratic gains of the party in the State.”
He cited the example of the gag order issued to the Civil Servants not to speak out against any government policy, however unpopular or risk being fired from their jobs.

The Ebonyi-born activist further stated that for the PDP to safeguard its democratic reputations “ it cannot overlook obvious disrespect for the rule of law and must therefore brings Governor Dave Umahi to book, and caution his approach.

You can not halt freedom of speech, or ban Journalists from going about their constitutional rights. If the PDP refuses to caution Governor Umahi, he will mortgage the Ebonyi State to the APC; and we all know what that means for the 2023 general elections", Ambassador Pascal concludes.

Politics / Ana Del Vella Who Survived Spanish Flu In 1918, Survives Coronavirus At Age 102 by kidap: 3:33pm On Apr 25, 2020
Ana del Valle was born in October 1913 and in less than six months she will turn 107.

That makes her the oldest survivor of the pandemic outbreaks in Spain, along with one of the oldest worldwide, behind the likes of 107-year-old Dutch survivor, Cornelia Ras.

Miracles do happen but not all of us have the chance to witness them in our daily lives, especially during a pandemic today which brings the world to a
standstill.

The Olive Press, a Spain-based English newspaper, reported that it was 1918, when Ana del Valle, a kid then, suffered and recovered from the Spanish Flu – an unusually deadly influenza pandemic which lasting for almost 36 months (from January 1918 to December 1920) and it infected as many as 500 million people – about a third of the world’s population at the time.

And now, 102 years later, the old grandmother has miraculously beaten the coronavirus pandemic to the joy of her family in Ronda.

The media reported that Valle lived at a nursing home in Alcala del Valle, where she contracted the virus along with 60 other residents.

She was then transferred to a hospital in La Linea and was discharged a few days ago, as she had overcome the contagion.

Ana was born in October 1913 and in less than six months she will turn 107. That makes her the oldest survivor of the pandemic outbreaks in Spain, along with one of the oldest worldwide, behind the likes of 107-year-old Dutch survivor, Cornelia Ras.

Her daughter-in-law, Paqui Sanchez was further quoted by Malaga Hoy, another local media source, that her family was very grateful for everything the hospital staff had done. But, she said that authorities were taking it slow and being cautious with her mother-in-law’s health, due to her old age.

“Her doctors tell us that she has very good results, but you have to be very careful,” she told the Malaga-based news paper.

“She eats alone, some days more and other days less”

“She also goes on short walks with her walker,” she said further.

According to other media reports, two other 101-year-old women have also recovered from disease in Spain.

There have been a total of 22,524 official Covid-19-related fatalities since the pandemic hit Spain, while 92,355 patients have recovered from the illness and have been discharged from hospital.

More than 195,000 people have died due to the pandemic, with 2.7 million infected globally, out of whom almost some 781,000 have recovered.

A man has narrated how he lost his mother to hypertension on Saturday morning because police officers demanded 20,000 bribe before letting him take her to the hospital in Port-harcourt, Rivers State.

According to the man who took to social media via his Twitter handle, @peterugavah, to narrate his experience, his mother had managed hypertension for twenty years.

The duo were on their way to the hospital after his mother developed complications. They were stopped by police officers who demanded he pay 20,000 in cash before he could pass.

The man said he didn’t have the cash and offered a bank transfer, but the police officers refused saying the money could be traced.

He suffered the horror of watching his mother pass away at the back seat of her car while the Police Officers kept insisting on collecting 20,000 cash.

The man lamented bitterly that the Nigerian police had turned him into an orphan while expressing his hate for the country.

He asked Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers if citizens weren’t allowed to go to hospital in cases of emergency during the lockdown.

Governor Wike is yet to reply the query at the time this article was written.

Top Political Activist and Fmr. APC Deputy Publicity Secretary, Comrade Timi Frank has commended Tanzanian President, Dr. John Magufuli for his dogged approach towards restoring the Pride of Africa, through some of his actionable measures.

He emphasized that the African Union AU and the Ecowas should follow the footsteps of President John Magufuli who spoke out against how the Chinese have been treating Africans in China, especially at a period the world is suffering from a global Pandemic.

His tweet said:

"I hereby commend Tanzania President @MagufuliJP for speaking out against the oppression of Africans in China. I urge @_AfricanUnion and @ecowashr to forget their benefits and gains from China, and follow Magufuli's footsteps in condemning the Chinese cruel acts against Africans."

The Bayelsan Activist and Political Commentator also condemns Muhammadu Buhari's Government for selling out Nigeria to the Chinese. He said the Buhari administration has collected several loans from the Chinese government, in which they've relooted.

He said:

"@MBuhari's government is only selling Nigeria to the Chinese. They keep collecting loans from the Chinese to share it amongst themselves. This is why they haven't ceased singing the praises of the Chinese despite what they're doing to Africans in China."

As Nigeria continues to join the rest of the world to grapple survival from the gruesome hands of the novel Covid-19 pandemic, well meaning individuals have continued to leverage this period to connect with humanity through charity balls, and provision of emergency relief materials to indigent house holds within the country.

With the Federal Government’s extension of the lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja by an additional 14days, it becomes apparent that more less privileged will have to starve longer than they bargained.

Moved by their plights, Celebrated Media Personality, Otunba Femi Davies with support from associates, friends and family have donated to less privileged within different Lagos suburbs, emergency relief materials, including raw food stuffs, cooked food, cash gifts and hand sanitizers.

The charity ball initiated by Otunba Femi Davies was brokered by Rotimi Ajanaku Foundation, Fatee Mohammed Foundation and Members of Metronews, an elitist social media platform mostly comprising eminent individuals drawn from the corporate world, politicians, news and entertainment media practitioners among others.

According to FM, not less than 2,000 individuals living in different parts of Lagos have been fed within three weeks, in different phases of the charity ball.

“In the last 3 weeks, we fed over 2000 people for 10days, gave out raw food items like rice, beans, garri, noodles, packed water, and bread to 250 families. We also gave out 5k to 50 people on the Island. We distributed hand sanitizers, and cash support to forum members in need too.

“We had great support from Rotimi Ajanaku Foundation, Fatee Mohammed Foundation, members of Metronews Chat Platform, Family and friends,” the Gbobaniyi of Arigidi-Akoko in Ondo State explains.

Commenting on the span of the outreach, FM explained that they have Egbeda, Idimu, Shasha Akowonjo, Ikorodu, Ketu, Ogba and Fagba.
Other locations covered were Ojodu Abiodun, Ojuelegba, Oke Popo(Ajanaku compound)Opebi, Lagos Island and Obalolu.

Understanding that the need for food is perennial, FM has promised to sustain the feeding exercise until the lockdown relapses, life returns to normalcy and people can return to their daily businesses to fend for themselves.

He therefore calls for more donors who are compelled to support the noble cause, while apreaciating everyone that have lent in cash and kind towards the initiative so far.

Politics / NSCIA Suspends All Ramadan Gatherings by kidap: 2:33pm On Apr 21, 2020
As the Ramadan fast commences this week, the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs has urged Muslims in the country to hold lectures online due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Council stated this on Tuesday in an advisory to Muslims in Nigeria.

President-General of the Council and Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, said all congregational worships noted with the holy month have been suspended.

The General Purpose Committee of the NSCIA under the leadership of its President-General, His Eminence, Alh. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, in view of the current COVID-19 pandemic considered the reports of the Fatwa Committee & the Ad-hoc Committee on COVID-19 & observed that:

“Scholars of Islam throughout the world are unanimous that the Prophet of Islam warned against the spread of contagious diseases and urged Muslims to prevent the spread.

“Jum’ah, as an obligatory religious activity, which is temporarily suspended to prevent the spread of COVID 19 outweighs the performance of any meritorious religious act such as congregational Tarawih and the conduct of Tafsir.

“Consequently, the Council directs that congregational Tarawih in the Mosque and the various Majalis Tafsir (sessions) and I’tikaf during the month of Ramadan of 1441 A.H be suspended.

“Individual Scholars and Organisations are encouraged to employ available means of disseminating information such as radio, television, other virtual facilities, print, social and traditional media for dissemination of tafsir and other da’awah activities.”

As more stories continue to unveil right after the demise of President Buhari's Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.

According to an undisclosed source who preferred to prove anonymity, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) awarded a N30billion contract to Bullets Constructions for extension of CBN Carpark.

Bullet Constructions is reportedly own by Billionaire Business Magnate, Issa Funtua. Mr Funtua is one of the big fish with the Presidential Cabal.

According to our source, he said;

"Mr. Funtua who is owner of a couple of Businesses in Nigeria. And the Cabal has used him to acquire various conglomerates, including banks such as Keystone Bank and Polaris (The defunct Skye Bank).  Him and his Son Abu Funtua controls the Forex market at the CBN.

"So I wonder why a N30billion contract will be awarded to Bullet Construction for the expansion of Carpark. How much is the entire CBN building? and why is the original company who built CBN not handling this.", the source muse.

The source who also confirm that the contract was awarded in 2019, and there has been no carpark expansion done at the CBN since then; he urge the National Assembly to probe the CBN. Claiming that for a country that complains there's no money, and can't invest in education and health sector.

Nigerians are keeping their fingers crossed as more stories wait to be unveiled.
