You are 100% correct as per the church way but I don't think everyone follows that. Since he has made the announcement they may now get the church committee involved and all the works but again I strongly suspect it might be for content. You can't announce marriage just like a surprise especially when it involves another church member of the same church. I know this because where I used to worship I didn't follow their rules though even though I held a respected position. I do not believe in meeting a girl and just deciding to court her with the permission abi blessing of the church. I chose instead to date her and see who she is for myself and it helped me see her errors without committing to what I may be manipulated to accept because of religion.

Very true. Used to be a major part of a certain ministry and I was already being referred to as the youth pastor. I know what I experienced from those women. Reminds me of one time as a youngin in uni. I went to a party with my crew on the outskirts of town and we did party all night till the early hours of the morning (1-2am) The celebrant didn't have enough space for everyone to sleep so all men begin find square root. There was this babe all over me at the party but to me she's fvkn ugly and thin, not my spec at all. I didn't know she stayed at the hostel alone. So she invited me to her place to crash the night. I was very grateful but that night I couldn't sleep a minute. She did everything to make sure we knack but I wasn't feeling her and politely kept declining while praying for the day to break. Long story short, nothing happened and she gave me her number that morning cos it was exam period too. I thanked her for letting me sleep, she was even preparing breakfast but I had to rush to my crib and get ready for school. The moment I stepped in the house na so all my guys dey hail me. No one believed I didn't knack. Na so this girl began harassing my existence. On campus everywhere I turned it was her.
