In their youthful prime, women see themselves as the prize. They choose whom to give their prize. They give it for love, for free and for money and resources.

Also,Social media have further destabilized the dynamics of dating ,courtship and social interactions, exposing the shallowness and fickleness of the greater numbers of the female gender.
So men are on guard, albeit confused, about making lifetime commitments that statistically have a short span and rigged against him.

Ekpo, a comedian and radio presenter, alleged that Lambe misled him throughout their marriage, including hiding her use of contraceptives from him.

“I am 48 years old, I don’t have a kid, I started going for tests because I thought I was the problem, I thought I had fertility issues. I later found out that she was taking contraceptives,” he said.

Back in school, while studying electrical engineering, a friend and I came up with the idea of signing up with an experienced electrician in town so we could work with him and learn during our free time.

One day we went out with him for a wiring job and he asked me to connect a four-gang switch. I had never done that before so I was confused. Instead of patiently explaining how to loop it, he started shouting at me like a mæd dog and even drawing the attention of people around.


I know what I’m capable of when I’m angry, so to avoid losing control, I told my friend I was going home and that I would never work with him again. My friend begged me to stay, but I left. If I had stayed one more minute I might have done something terrible.


Later my friend returned to the hostel and told me the electrician felt remorseful after I left, that I wouldn’t be able to learn with my temper and that I was staring at him with so much rage as if I wanted to beat him up..... I told my friend coldly, “I wouldn’t have beaten him ---I would have kee him.”


About a week later, I met a reasonable electrician who taught me everything I know today. He even paid me whenever I accompanied him to work, such a generous man. He is now my mentor. Whenever I get a contract outside work and I’m unavailable to handle it, I pass it on to him.


Life isn’t supposed to be difficult; we often make it harder for ourselves. I still wonder why many Nigerian bosses have this primitive mindset that an apprentice must endure emotional trauma before learning a skill
