The Anthem was a product of military dictators from one side of Nigeria. The states that took Nigeria for a booty have collected enough of the booty ranging from banning and destruction of alcohol beverages but come to Abuja to collect federal allocations derived from VAT on alcohol beverages, use of Quota System, use of 20 new federating units in the old Northern region to funnel oil revenues to the north. More than 50 years collection of these advantages are enough. Tambuwal. Your northern Nigeria people have led Nigeria since 1960 more than 70% of the period to now. Yet the north is the least educated region and the North has by far the largest number of poor people in Nigeria. In other words, Nigeria's overcentralized government in Abuja has been like a chain tying the southern regions to the north for the purpose of bringing the southern regions down to the level of the Northern region in Nigeria. It's time for the northern region to stop objecting to return to True and Fiscal federalism or return to zonal government system. |

SpatialKing:Lagos was part of South West region at independence. Nigeria's Military officials from Northern region created the 36 states and Abuja political structure; gave 19 states + Abuja to one region but 17 states to two southern regions; to funnel oil revenues to the northern region. Otherwise; there should have been more states in the two southern regions thsn in the Northern region. Land mass or population figures is not used as yardstick to determine where new federal units can be created in a country formed by different regions. |

Benzigler:FULANI caused possible disintegration of Nigeria starting 1999-2001 when FULANI introduced Sharia Criminal justice system to all the 12 northern States largely controlled by the Fulani. Obasanjo's inconclusive efforts to restructure Nigeria politically when he was president is the killer punch of today in Nigeria. Obasanjo was handed over a military constitution, military political structure, military governance system, and above all, 12 states raped the same constitution by adoption of sharia criminal laws under Obasanjo government but he also looked the other way by calling it political sharia. Return True and Fiscal federalism to Nigeria or go back to the regional government system, or zonal government system.
