Here's my APPROVAL transcript I was getting so nervous when I went in. Had to keep stirring up my faith and reminding God of His words to me. Finally called to window 7. Me: Good morning sir VO: Good morning. Can I have your passport and I-20 (handed them over). I can see you are going to Emory university. What will you be studying? Me: I will be doing a Masters in Public health with a major in International health. VO: That's a very good school for that course. Me: Yes it is VO: I see you're already a doctor. Me: I am VO: Did you take the GRE? Me: Yes I did VO: Can I see your scores? (handed it to him) Wow. You have impressive scores, congratulations. Me: Thank you sir VO: And I can see you applied to some top schools here Me: Yes. I want a very good education VO: (laughs) So what made you choose Emory? Me: During the course of my research, I discovered that Emory has the best global health department in the country. The SPH is involved in a lot of projects that are making waves worldwide. The research interests of the school are targeted mainly towards Infectious diseases control and this is an area I am particularly interested in. VO: (cuts in) Who will be paying for your studies? Me: My parents are my sponsors. VO: What do they do? Me: They run a company that is involved in handling building contracts and real estate management. They also own a hotel in PH. VO: Ok. How many rooms are in the hotel Me: It contains 35 rooms VO was typing, typing, typing while I was praying in my heart.. lol VO: OK. Everything seems to be in order. I will be granting your visa. Pick up your passport.... Make sure you travel before your start date... You will need to carry your I-20.... Me: (nodding like agama) Thank you sir. Thank you sir. Thank you sir (collected my white paper) No documents asked upon all my preparation. No mention of previous interview. ALL GLORY BE TO GOD, MY HEAVENLY FATHER WHO LOOKS OUT FOR ME ALWAYS. Orpheus231: Hello Nairalanders, I usually come on here to read posts and information. I normally don't post. I must say a very big thank you to Nairaland. This platform was very instrumental to my success today. At exactly 8am today, i was granted F1 visa to study in America at the US embassy in Abuja, after seeing three persons get denied F1 Visa. Here is my interview script. Me: Good morning sir VO: Good Morning, can i have your passport? Me: I gave him my passport and was looking staright into his eyes and tried as much as i can to maintain my composure and i remained confident. VO: Can i have your I-20 and sevis payment confirmation forms? Me: I passed them to him. VO: what are your plans to the United states? Me: I going to study MSc Healthcare Administration and after which i intend to come back to my home country to take up leadership and managerial roles at NGOs such as UNICEF and WHO, and other public health sectors in Nigeria. VO: What is the name of the university you are going to attend? Me: Stratford University. VO: How did you hear about this University? Me: A friend of mine who attended the university told me about it. Then i went on to research about the university and i found out it offers course i am interested in. VO:Did you apply to other universities? Me: Yes VO: what other universities did you apply to? Me: University of Michigan, University of Washington and University of North Carolina. VO: why did you choose Stratford university over these other ones? Me: The tuition fee is relatively cheap compared to the other universities. Also the MSc Healthcare adminstration in Stratford university contains modules/subjects that i am interested in, unlike the other universities. VO: You applied for a visa to attend a conference in America earlier this year(february) which was denied? Me:Yes VO: paused, takes a glance at his computer and then he said "But you already have a masters" Me: yes, Masters of Science in Public Health from England. VO: Why then do you want to acquire another masters? Me: I have tried applying for Leadership positions at NGOs such as UNICEF and WHO upon my return to Nigeria, but they keep requesting for MSc healthcare administration for such roles. VO: I want to give you visa, issues me the white paper. Me: Thank you sir. VO: Pick up your Visa and passport in Two days time from ************** address. And make sure you travel to the US on time. Me: Thank you sir. I was super excited but could not even show it, i don't know why. I wore my very expensive Italian suit that fits perfectly on my body with my golden rolex watch. I made sure he was seeing my rolex watch as he interviewed me Lol. It is psychology, show them you are not broke. Once again, Thanks to you guys, you all made it possible!!!!!!! NB: He didn't ask me for any document, not even a bank statement. I am eternally grateful to God. Congratulations. Pls which window did you get interviewed at? |

Mekurexx: Hey, Some VOs do not check all these plenty documents. They know an applicant can walk up to those embassy touts and they produce a fake bank statement in minutes that looks original. my advice is do the convincing with your words and dont put so much emphasis on documents, letter etc. You can explain it in the simplest terms. If your documents are genuine you shouldn't have any problem convincing the VO. Any documents showing assets etc, well I dont know. If you read most transcripts, you see they ask for 1 document or none at all. Your priority should be to defend what you have in the papers. Ok. I get what you're saying. Thanks a lot. |

rogerdavid: Thanks KimoraW. I know yours will come soon.
You might agree with me that this thread is creating more confusion than it is bringing relevant information. Amen! It really is very confusing. I've given up on the thread. |

meekandholy: But the part that really got me thinking was when the VO asked you how many chambers the heart has ' and you laughed audibly'''. which is good to show your level of confidence in your profession. But I really don't know how audible you laughed and maybe you could have unconsciously sounded rude ( my thought) and if that's the case he/she might just decide to intentionally fall your hand and show you, he/ she is the boss here. I'm telling you there is nothing wrong with your profile not even with your statement of account. ( my thought) Maybe he/she saw your high self confidence and He/ she saw it as a slap on his / her ego as a VO. So please next time when asked a too simple question like whats the colour of the human blood .... please just smile and answer '''Red.''' last but not the least... please pray against Elenini V.O Hmmm didn't think of that. Thanks a lot. I have taken note of it. |

Mekurexx: I read your transcript and its unfortunate you were denied. Did you know you can request another V.O if you meet the same person that denied you first time? That being said. prolly the next V.O wants to know what has changed in ur app? nothing major necessarily has to in your case. I'm not abrest with banking procedures but cant ur sponsor change the account to savings or current? Can your sponsor transfer x amount to your account (if you have good cashflow) and back it up with a letter. Just to avoid stories that touch. Just like assets, I'm not sure Fixed deposit doesnt portrays liquid cash available. Thanks for your input dear. I'm definitely not going back to that same VO. The account is already a savings account and the money is liquid cash and has been consistent without fixed deposit contract for the past 3months (just that the statement goes back 6months). The other acct has good cash flow but low closing balance so I can't use it. I will get a letter from the bank and a more explanatory letter from my sponsor. I also heard about getting a valuation report to show other assets. I hope that will be enough. |
Travel › Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 9 by KimoraW: 7:27am On May 29, 2016 |
imperiouxx: I see. That's good enough. The fact remains that the cash flow wasn't cleared to the vo. Hopefully the next vo will understand the account better next time. And try explain if the question pops up again. Best. Thanks. |
Travel › Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 9 by KimoraW: 7:25am On May 29, 2016 |
DareFadi: See if the bank can write you a cover letter stating source of fund and that its is liquid cash . Let d cover letter address any or all concern that was raised .
And then its grace of God needed because u can attend next week and the VO wont even care . Most people are not even asked for statement so no one can ever predict how it goes Thanks. I'll work on that |
Travel › Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 9 by KimoraW: 4:53pm On May 28, 2016 |
imperiouxx: I won't recommend changing sponsor within this short period of time. Changing might leave the VO with many other questions. Mind saying how much the closing balance was when you went to the embassy? I agree with u on that. Closing balance was just over 17mil. |

Travel › Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 9 by KimoraW: 12:40pm On May 28, 2016 |
youngmoney416: Your only problem was lack of inflow and outflow of the account. What she saw was cash lodgment which is not convincing that the income is steady. Kindly change your sponsor and take note of these things. Thanks dear. its not so easy o. How can I just change my sponsor? I don't have any other person willing to do that. And if I change to like an uncle, won't it look bad too to them? Like I'm obviously just doing it for the interview. |
Travel › Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 9 by KimoraW: 12:35pm On May 28, 2016 |
imperiouxx: Question: Let say you're in US now, can you make school payment like right away from this account? This is something you have to address properly before your next appearance at the embassy? Not everyone would be convinced that the money gone just before the interview and would be back in 30 days after the interview. And all they want to see is immediate available fund for studies. You were denied for insufficient fund. Thanks for your input dear. The money wasn't gone just before the interview. This has been happening before so you will notice it in the earlier part of the statement but the money has consistently been in the account without the fixed deposit stuff going on for the past 2 months. So it's obviously accessible anytime. |

professorgome: The test you are about to write is called BRAIN TEASERS and has different parts as listed below:
1. General Questions = 94 2. Logical Reasoning = 131 3. Quantitative Analysis = 305 4. Verbal reasoning = 164
The above is from the software. In all these they will select 50 to 60 questions at random. Because questions are selected at random, the question in my number 1 might be your number 60 as the case may be.
Now look at the ratio, out of 94+131+305+164 = 694. You will be required to answer only 50 or 60 from the 694 questions selected at random. That is why so many candidates fail.
What is your chance of making it to the interview and collecting the 10k transport? You need to see all or at least more than 60% of these questions.
I have arranged all these in order. If you need them drop your email or number, I will tell you how to get it from me. My date is 4 June, goodluck at the exam and interview. Pls I need it... drmoragp@yahoo.com ... Pls help a sistah out |
