The Supreme Court will today (Wednesday) decide on the authentic leadership of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
The contest is between the Ali Sheriff, who was purportedly removed at the party’s May 21 2016 convention, and the national caretaker committee chaired by Ahmed Makarfi.
While the Makarfi faction enjoys the support of most of the organs of the PDP, the Sheriff faction was declared the authentic leadership by the Court of Appeal. Many members of the PDP including former governors and current lawmakers have since decamped from the party, citing the division in its leadership as reason. The pronouncement of the Supreme Court today is expected to finally resolve the leadership crisis. PREMIUM TIMES brings you live updates from the Supreme Court.

dainformant: A Nigerian security operative identified as Usman Chindo has revealed the "specially-made" guns that were recovered from armed robbers killed along Kano - Zaria expressway. According to him, one of the guns - a revolver which is meant to carry 6-8 bullets (maximum) - was locally constructed to load 15 bullets which is quite alarming.

Ajasco222: Nigerians really believe in Prayers. This video shows some Mountain of Fire (MFM) Church members trying to use serious prayers to quench fire burning an LG Showroom at Lekki yesterday.
The prayer warriors are seen in the video speaking in tongues and calling upon the power of God to come down and quench the fire.

Cambells: The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has said that President Muhammadu Buhari is now in charge.
Osinbajo told state house correspondents shortly after briefing president Buhari that he is no longer acting as president.
He said "I am back to my regular position as Vice-President"
Prof. Osinbajo explained that he had a very important discussion with the president.
President Buhari resumed office today and formally transmitted letters to the Senate and the House of Representatives, informing them "that I have resumed my functions as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with effect from Monday, March 13, 2017, after my vacation in compliance with Section 145 of the 1999 Constitution".
