That is really annoying ..here in sagamu even ministries and other parastatals are just rejecting corpers like deported beans.. its quite unfair.. corpers will use their 19,800 to tour around thr state looking for ppa.. if they eventually get the owner of the school especially use them like jack and pay them peanuts as low as 3k ,5k.. our youths are suffering..

I am a corp member, its not easy.. if u are in ogun halla me sha.. grin

You people read to reply and NOT Read to understand
bloodyBLOGGER:
your write-up clearly shows how sentimental and emotional you are. What has language got to do with music? Have you forgotten that music is a universal language on its own? Maybe. You expect we africans to ditch our own language just to sound appealing to americans who will still never see us fit enough to feature.

You made a wrong point that for a song to be National, it has to be felt by all regions. To correct you, I'll say for a song to be National, it has to be felt in LAGOS. For a song to blow in africa, it has to be felt in lagos too. Why? Cos lagos houses the best entertainment outfits in africa. South africa has been overshadowed by Lagos state in terms of music. That's why every musician in Nigeria has to come to lagos before they blow. That's also why every foreign artiste take lagos as the only place to do shows. Lagos is the centre of excellence and you can't take it away from it. Tell phyno and. Flavour to. Remain in the east and see whether they will be remember in Nigeria and africa. 80% of their shows can be said to hold in lagos.

As for reekado banks, he is a good artiste. But according to statistics, he is not worth the award. Politics, emotions and sentiments played a huge roll in the affair cos it wasn't a contest determined by Votes.

Not when the language is hard for fans to move on with.. you can dance to the tones, beats and all but music is not complete until one is able to understand the lyrics and feel it and also sing along

I understand where u are coming from but thats a different ball game entirely.. you mean when a dj or a producer featured an artist and he owns the song no doubt.. but what i am saying is this.. for instance... slow down r2bees ft wizkid, illegal pepenazi ft olamide.. natuarally one would think the songs belongs to those artist that featured in it.. but wat im saying is not ownership per say,but the person in control of that song and in charge of the song, the person dat brings flavour and music sweetness of a song is the one dat takes the hook dat is the chorus.. which is reekado banks
emperorchedda:
First of all, YOU TOTALLY FAILED IT WHEN YOU SAID reekado banks can be said to own dorobucci. Do you know even if an artist take all the verses of a song the producer might just end up being the owner of the song e.g David Guetta, Timbaland, these guys don't really sing but no artist they feature can ever say they own any track of David Guetta.

When David Guetta featured Rihanna in 'who's that chick' he said NO word yet the owns the song, my point is even if Reekado banks sang both chorus, hook, rap sef in dorobucci Mavins still own the song and credit can never be given to just Don jazzy or Tiwa or Korredo Bello or even reekado alone for that song but Mavins as a whole

Before you argue with me on this learn about Dj Exclusive or even Mastakraft, they own songs without singing yet they still are recognize as the owner

I will be giving out a constructive view about why Reekadobanks deserves the award instead of lil kesh or kiss daniel .
The headies award that took place on 1st of january 2016. In which i watched it from the begining till the end. It was quite the wait to say cos it was dramatic.

The award for the NEXT RATED was between Lil kesh,Reekado banks,Korede bello, and Kiss daniel. These four dudes are awesomely talented and good in their various ways but some are actually better that deserves it.
The social media was hitted up when the award was given to reekado banks instead of lil kesh, some said kiss daniel or korede bello should have won it but looking at it in the real sense of good music .. reeekado deserves it..

LET ME TELL YOU WHY

Few years back, don jazzy signed reekado banks into his label Supreme Mavin Dynasty, according to him,he saw reekado banks online (twitter) precisely when he did an online audition then. He signed both korede bello, dija and reekado banks same time.

Reekado banks dropped his first single in mavin titled 'Turn it up' ft tiwa savage which actually got the social media talking about him.. that song was fire, and dope.. reggae style. Totally different from rest.. i still dont know why he didnt shoot the video.. people that heard thw song can testify to it. And if you havnt please use google and check it out.. after that he switched to the normal dancehall kind music "chop am" this song was dancable and a lotbof people grooved with it,it was lovely and djs even play it too.. we move on to dorrobucci in which it was believed that dorrobucci is a song that rocked the airwaves, the hook of that song was taken by him, the took the chorus perfectly and from my understanding of music, chorus is where the song lies,it is the hook that determines how sweet and rockable a song is.. so i can categorically say that reekado banks owns that song featuring other mavins artists in it. He took the first verse and the whole hook which people loved more and sang more.. you cant tell me that SHOKI was bigger than DORROBUCCI?? NO! YOU CANT.
Reekado banks didnt stop there. He did other songs like Sugar baby which he dropped the video recently, Katapot which everyone all loved cos it was now different kind of music entirely. Katapot was more like a sweet slow rnb song. It wasnt danceall it was different.. looku looku song too was nailed by him...he deleivered perfectly.

LIL KESH
olamide signed in lil kesh almost same time reekadobanks was in. He released a rap song 'lyrically werey or so' cant rem. Then shoki. Shoki was the main song that paved way for him. Of which it was actually shoki remix ft olamide and davido.. the original one didnt really go far. And incase anyone forgets.. he wasnt the one that originated shoki.. shoki was done by different artists Dre sans,Orezi etc.infact orezi's shoki was even making air waves before they did the remix with davido and olamide.. even davido said it that hes the one that made shoki blow..
People were asking after shoki what next? He dropped 'gbese' and 'Efe joku ft vithor' which sounded more like shoki.. all these three songs were all party song, it was crazy and a dancable song.. club song.. and lately,he dropped the 'isit because i love you' which to me didnt really make much noise like the other two.. shoki and efe joku.

Looking at the above analysis you will agree with me that these two artists are great and good but again who is better than the other?
What is music?
How do people like nigerian music?

A real artist must have a feature of diversity and lyrically okay.. his or her lyrics must be awesome and contentful.. the people he is singing for must understand him and the music.. he must pass message at list in one or two of his songs..
Lil kesh with those three party songs was not really passing any meaningful message and the lyrics is just not that cool. Infact his songs is for those that understands yoruba quite well. If you are not good in yoruba, you will hardly get the song. Lil kesh is just following the foot step of his boss olamide.. same pattern, same style. You may even wonder if he is a singer or rapper..

Reekado banks is also yoruba though he do add some yoruba languages to his songs but not much ..just like wizkid. Atleast anyone listening to chop am,katapot, dorobuci etc will understand the lyrics and even sing along than shoki and efe joku.. my friend was asking me the meaning of the song when it came out.

Secondly, the headies award is a national award and not a yoruba nor south west award..people should understand this!! For you to say and artist is recognised atleast most people, the east, west, south, north must hear him and understand him perfectly.. this is why olamide havnt gone international like wizkid and davido, banky w,M.i,naeto c etc.
The only reason olamide is still on the game is because of Lagos state. Ask me How?
Yes,lagos state.. Lagos state is the centre of entertainment and commercialisation in which over 80 to 85% of the residents understands yoruba quite well so they can flow with whats he is saying.. thats why he drops mixtape and album anyhow in which majority of the patronisers are lagosians.. outside that nothing! The same way the east feel flavour and phyno.. is same way lagosians do feel olamide and other yoruba artists.

So in conclusion since music is all about diversifying and carrying your fans along,i can boldly say Reekado banks did a that.. lil kesh is only carring yoruba fans along not the nigerian fans.. and HEADIES IS A NATIONAL AWARD and not yoruba award..

Thank you.

Happy new year everyone, thankgod we all made it to this year..

I have something troubling me since few years now, infact ever since my first year in university back then as at 2008/2009. The problem is that the kind of girls i want i hardly get them or they dont feel like dating me,they are either dating someone else or heartbroken and never want to date again.. but the girls i dont really like and dont see them as my level or type to date, they are the once that flocks around me..

When im talking about my type i am not talking about the beauty alone, some other criteria like smart, intelligent, outspoken and so on.. and i am someone that do love tall slim and slender girls instead what i see on my way is either fat or short. Which i dont like..
Does it mean my type of girls are all taken? Or i am having a high level of expectations and class of the kind of girls i want.. am i expecting too much? Is my hope too high or what?
Please help me.. cos ever since then till now i havent had any serious stuff cos im being too selective or so.
