An individual was released last week after an undisclosed sum was paid and another kidnapping happened this week expecting to be paid a ransom too.. I won't be surprised if it's the same people who carried out last week's kidnapping are the same with those who did this

Akure—Former Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure FUTA, Prof Albert Ilemobade was yesterday abducted by gunmen. Ilemobade was the vice chancellor between 1987 to 1995.
He was said to have been abducted alongside with his gateman at his Ijapo residence, in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
Ilemobade, a septuagenarian was said to have been abducted by gunmen at his residence.
The house maid reportedly saw the gunmen when they took the former don away.
The gunmen on their arrival at the residence of the former Vice Chancellor approached the gateman, but before he knew what was happening a gun was reportedly pointed at him and he was asked to lead them to the living room where the former Vice Chancellor was accosted and asked to follow them to their vehicle.
Vanguard gathered that the gate man was bundled into the vehicle when he attempted to raise an alarm.
They reportedly whisked them away to an unknown destination. His car was later abandoned by his kidnappers along Ijare road .
Family members of the abducted former Vice Chancellor have besieged his residence.
The Police Image Maker Wole Ogodo said investigation into the matter is in progress.
It will be recalled that the Executive secretary of Cocoa Association of Nigeria CAN Mr Michael Adewunmi who was kidnapped last week has been released after the family paid an undisclosed amount as ransom.
Adewunmi was abducted on his way to his office in Akure. all information is extracted from http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/06/gunmen-abduct-futas-septuagenarian-ex-vc/Cc: seun, lalasticlala, mynd44, Ishilove, olawalebabs, Richiez, Fynestboi |

This is a nice move from the APC
I think they are better in managing internal crisis and conflicts than the PDP..
Left for the PDP we'll be seeing threats of defection and all that instead of a peaceful resolution..
God bless Nigerians God bless the judiciary God bless the legislative God bless the executive God bless Nigeria..

Politics › Nass Leadership: Oyegun Brokers Truce Between Saraki, Lawan by kingphilip(op): 12:42am On Jun 23, 2015 |
ABUJA – To ensure a rancour free plenary today on the floors of both chambers of the National Assembly, the national chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief John Oyegun may have brokered peace between warring camps of the senate president, Dr. Bukola Saraki and senator Ahmed Lawan.
On a similar note, Oyegun also met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Yakubo Dogara and his deputy, Hon. Yusuf Lasun.
It will be recalled that the elections of Saraki and Dogara upon the inauguration of 8th National Assembly on June 9 as against the choices of senator Ahmed Lawan and Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila who were both APC’s official candidates for senate president and the speaker, House of Representatives threw the APC lawmakers and the party into divisions.
But a renewed bid to reconcile both parties, Oyegun yesterday held a private meeting with the new leaders in his Asokoro, Abuja residence.
Though the meeting was not open to Journalists, a source present at the meeting which had in attendance all the APC senators said that a truce was brokered as all outstanding disputes relating to the principal positions at the National Assembly were settled.
“It is a private meeting and they were able to settle all the outstanding disputes relating to the sharing of principal positions at the National assembly “.
“It all now appears that the APC senators and the federal house of representatives members will go to tomorrow’s (Tuesday) plenaries sessions united”, the source said.
But a source close Oyegun hinted that there was finality in the peace talk, stressing that talks were still ongoing.
According to him, Journalists would be duly informed when there is a headway.
A source close to the senate president said that the matter had been laid to rest. “I’m not privy to the details of the meeting, but the Senate President has resolved his differences with the party,” he said.
Oyegun had last week after the meeting of the National Working Committee, NWC in Abuja promised an end to the imbroglio.
Meanwhile, both the Senate and House of Representatives are expected to name their principal officers today. And I think our able president should take the DSS along because I think it's an important security apparatus since it's not yet proven that they are sabotaging the efforts of his administration
Leaving them out of it seems somehow.. He should then go ahead and dissolve them instead of leaving them idle

On his first day in the office, President Muhammadu Buhari went into a meeting with service chiefs who arrived the Villa shortly after the president resumed at the presidential Villa.
It is the second time that President Muhammad Buhari would be meeting with the service Chiefs since he assumed office.
And unlike the Jonathan era where such meetings had the Director General of the Department of State Services in attendance, the DG of the DSS was not in attendance at Monday meeting.
The meeting is still on going at the time of this report.

Business › Innoson Slams N30 Billion Suit On Gtbank by kingphilip(op): 6:31am On Jun 22, 2015 |
Nigeria’s first indigenous automobile manufacturer, Innoson Motors Nigeria Limited, has slammed a N30 billion suit against Guarantee Trust Bank, GTB, as a result of damages the company suffered following an ex parte order of Martha Injunction, which GTB applied and obtained, freezing Innoson’s accounts in all the banks in Nigeria.
However, on June 10, Justice Saliu Saidu of the Federal High Court, Lagos, in a considered ruling set aside the ex parte order of September 1, 2014 and the writ of summons as well. The running legal battle between Innoson and GTB started when Innoson challenged the action of Nigerian Customs Service for auctioning its goods.
In a Garnishee Order Absolute, the court had ordered GTB to pay Innoson N2,048,737,443.67 from Customs account. Rather than comply with the Garnishee Order Absolute of the court, GTB on February 6, 2015 appealed the judgment, but the Court of Appeal in Appeal no. CA/1/258/2011 affirmed the judgment of the Federal High Court and ordered GTB to pay the judgment debt of N2,048,737,443.67 to Innoson.
GTB, instead, appealed to the Supreme Court against the Court of Appeal’s decision. In another suit, Innoson sued GTB for imposing excess and unlawful charges on the company’s account with the bank amounting to N559 million. The trial court gave a N4.7 billion judgment in favour of Innoson.
GTB subsequently appealed the judgment of the Awka High Court, but the Court of Appeal, Enugu Division, upheld the judgment and ordered GTB to pay the judgment debt, which stood at over N5.7 billion, into an interest-yielding account in the name of the Chief Regi-strar of the Court of Appeal. However, GTB has appealed to the Supreme Court. All information is extracted http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/06/innoson-slams-n30-billion-suit-on-gtbank/ |
Politics › What Legislators Don’t Earn by kingphilip(op): 6:13am On Jun 22, 2015 |
NIGERIANS have invested so much effort in discussing what legislators earn that the bigger question about what they do is rarely considered. This is not a debate on return on investment – if resources deployed to legislators could be so addressed – but an inquiry into what all arms of government do. Our grudges with legislators are mostly personal.
We know them. We probably voted for them, possibly rigged for them. They promised qualitative representation, also known as “delivery of the dividends of democracy”. They said they were the best hands for the job of making laws for the common good. What is common good without tackling the bread and butter issues?
Before our eyes they prospered beyond our imagination, beyond reason and ironically against the preachments that things were tough, such that governments could not pay salaries to ordinary workers. Even in States with crumbled economies, the legislators got their pay. They would only be waiting for entitlements that could have been delayed.
There are lots of reasons to be angry about the jumbo pay that we hear legislators earn, but anger would not solve the problem, nor the additional mischief of demonising legislators by spewing salacious stories about money they do not earn, like the fabulous figures mentioned as wardrobe allowances. A lot of advocacy is required to engage legislators on their earning which was established during the prudent presidency of Olusegun Obasanjo.
It is equally important that we sustain a more wholesome approach to costs of running our governments. Is it not also necessary to know how much we spend on the executive? Again, what do people in government do for the much they earn? Are the waste we are against only in the legislature? Could we look deeper into other areas of mostly illegitimate earnings for the legislators and the executives?
Illegal earnings are part of the corruption in the system. The noticeable parts include enormously bloated government pay rolls across the country, and a corrupt system that ensures that once some names are triumphantly announced as ghosts and expunged, more names are added to the lists, to join those who were never discovered.
Entrenched interests count for more than the interest of the people. As we fight over figures, there is still uncertainty about what our “servants” earn while those they serve earn nothing in an economy that has shrunk to the point of almost choking many Nigerians.
The fight to retrieve our country from self-serving interests should be deeper than fighting over figures. Nigerians are in for more fights than removing one government for another. There are too many interests contending for Nigerians retracting resources. When they hype salaries of legislators, they draw attention to one section, while shielding sectors that they loot.
