Minemrys: i guess i'd be d0ne with the dceu after JL then. If they intend to shoehorn ww in everything.. And as 4 h0mec0ming, am n0t sure it was what s0ny was expecting. The only pers0n winning n0w l0oks like disney. S0ny coulda made ASM 3 and other spidey spin offs had they n0t chickened out and deletd alot of materials fr0m ASM 2 or cancelled spiderman 4 out of pride and greed. Being a h0m0ph0be may n0t be bad. Least, it makes me feel sane in a crazy world. na....... 750+ million is a win for Sony.... with the sequel coming after IW it "should" gross over a billion... why do you keep threatening the dceu and WB with your departure you are not going anywhere we need your money for b.o numbers lol |

Minemrys: you like homecoming? O. M. G, i'd rate the tobey maguire films and ASM over it. I saw no need in the movie to be honest. What new info or development did the film add to the Mcu? Seriously, n0thing. They explained Mcu's spiderman in civil war, we didn't need an0ther film featuring him again. And seriously, this is how WB is ruining their films, fast tracking ww 2 for a 2019 release? Come on, it cheapens the importance of the character cos by then no one would really care about Diana after seeing her in 4 films straight up. Thats what they did with the superman and batman films till they lost value. There are other characters they could make m0ney out of. Justice league dark, crime syndicate, booster gold, reverse flash etc but they won't bank on that. They're banking on gotham siren, joker film, joker and harley, harley spin off, nightwing, batgirl that no one wants. Maybe so0n they'd be banking on a steve trevor or etta candy m0vie. Hollywood is loosing it. And the worst thing killing the m0vie industry is propaganda. Making m0vies to please the gay group, feminists, supremacists, fanatics etc instead of focusing on the art of story telling. Homophobe it's a joke o, I don't see the problem with gay characters as far as they are part of the society the should be equally represented. Homecoming had to happen because of the deal with Sony...end of the day Sony and Disney were both winners. homecoming was actually funny and entertaining. leave WW be let them milk her.. it's her turn to be milked. with 6 superman movies 7 batman movies.. WW seems like the only member of the trinity to not be getting any attention... now they are giving her attention you are complaining. |

cao: Nope, they have the same director, but they certainly don't have the same themes at all at all. Arrival ain't neo noir, it's a drama. Nope. One is about replicants and what it means to be human and really wanting to be seen as human, based on a Philip K. Dick novel. While, the other is basically a story about communication and the life of a woman, who learns an alien language that allows her to live her life in a non-linear fashion, who decides to still live her life in the same way, even though she knows what lies ahead...that also happens to have aliens in it, based on a short story by Ted Chiang. yup I said kind of Neo noir because of the gritty nature of both not cause of the characters.... and both movies have the same feel to it...I get your point though Arrival was more of a drama... but they both have dark themes.... I meant noir in sense of dark mysterious and shadowy not cynical crime stories |

cao: I liked Arrival, but this is simply a sequel to Blade Runner, which is nothing like Arrival. Same director Denis Villeneuve... they both have same neo-noir themes to it... so if you like arrival you "may" like blade runner |
TV/Movies › Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Kingrapha(m): 6:19pm On Sep 09, 2017 |
cao: I'm still on the fence about this, since Hollywood seems to just want to do sequels or reboots to beloved classics/franchises. Haven't watched a single trailer for this. Who knows? I might just randomly stroll to the cinema one day and just watch it, since it's sci-fi. did you like arrival? if you did and you will like this..... visually tho... we are yet to see the plot. . |

I will play the tune as the piper and you get to do ' A dance Of Fury'
Maybe!!! Kingrapha thanks I'll check those out... 1 Like |

sorry to go off topic but.... I love visiting the literature section, I think there good writers here but overtime I've grown weary of the constant romance stories... personally am a sci-fi guy. but the ones I see here sorry to say are not that good...
I don't often see crime thrillers, fantasy world, wizarding and magic, detective, superhero, sci fi, dysopian and Horror (never seen a horror story)
I appreciate the writers but I think we can diversify the genres not everyone reads romantic thrillers...thank you

Leave the superiority to marvel lol kid friendly... formulaic and cringy jokes....Marvel movies are nothing but pop corn flicks no real depth or symbolism. no real stakes just mediocre action comedies... let's hope infinity war is serious toned with real stakes like winter soldier. but with Kevin feige I doubt it.... cao: I already said Spidey was A list, when I mentioned Marvel's big guns - X-Men, Spidey and F4. Abi your definition of big guns means C list? Avengers wasn't bigger than X-Men. You can even say it was B list sef, but it wasn't their big guns. I agree the avengers is not bigger than the xmen but I still consider it a marvel big gun because it's a cross over comic even Spidey is part of the avengers.... so I don't agree with you on the B list thingy..... just like the bat family is dc's most popular brand doesn't make justice league b-list.... The jl / avengers cross overs were the most anticipated.... |

jonbellion: wow really ? Well I'll say homecoming is the best portrayal of Spiderman on the big screen. Peter parker was portrayed quite accurately; the mild mannered socially awkward nerd. Tom Holland nailed it Peter parker in amazing Spiderman was too hipster Sam raimi spiderman > amazing spiderman >homecoming tobey nailed Peter lol.... The best part of homecoming was Aunt may lol don't you agree I like amazing spiderman because of its tone and some what gritty portrayal and garfield's spiderman was by far the best fighter when it comes to action scenes |

Ooh yeah I never got the idea behind the marc Webb Spiderman franchise myself either Part 2 was godawful. Made all the same mistakes in Spiderman 3 Good thing MCU came to set things straight I actually prefer amazing spiderman 1 to homecoming, my opinion though don't crucify me lol |

cao: It's like you just want to argue for argument's sake. I already stated that Spidey and WW are in the big leagues, so you might want to quit trying to needlessly argue. Avengers, whether you like it or not, really became A list due to the MCU. Ask anybody who grew up in the 90s about Marvel brands, it's X-Men & Spidey they will remember because they had awesome cartoon shows. No one remembers the terrible IM cartoon. While, DC killed it with their DCAU.
Warcraft flopped like most video game adaptations flop. In fact the only really successful video game adaptation is Resident Evil and that doesn't even stay true to its source material. Just because it's a popular gaming franchise doesn't mean it would kill at the box office. Remember, what works in video games doesn't work in films. In fact, if they ever decide to do an Uncharted film, that might actually work since it's already story driven and already plays like a film. Seriously, imagine if they used their most famous set pieces from the franchise. Christ! Some people go just die for the cinema.
Look at Spidey sef, Homecoming simply didn't do the large numbers as expected simply because of Spidey fatigue, this is the third reboot of a franchise that is not up to 20 years, and that's Sony's fault. Which is quite the shame, because they really did get Spidey and Peter Parker in it. I guess Marvel is just happy they can now use him in the MCU. lol we are saying the same thing lady...... popularity is not equal to a High gross..... lol and the MCU didn't make avengers a list it has always been lol to comic readers though......MCU brought it to the big screen and general audience like Sam raimi and Sony did with spiderman, you wouldn't say he wasn't a list before that movie would you? |
TV/Movies › Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by Kingrapha(m): 1:04am On Sep 05, 2017 |
cao: Duh. Superman, that's an A list character from the DC Trinity (Batman, Superman & Wonder Woman). Of course, folks will talk when a C list character surpasses him in his first outing. It's like y'all like to forget that Marvel is currently using their not so big guns. It's thanks to the MCU that C list (or in the case of GotG, Z list) characters are now getting A list status. Remember, Marvel sold the film rights of their big guns - X-Men, Spidey & F4 - during their bankruptcy, then surprised everybody with IM. By the time Avengers happened, they could practically do no wrong in the eyes of the public & critics.
As for Captain Marvel, I'm really looking forward to it. MCU messed up by not giving us the BW film, we all wanted when we wanted it. Now, I don't even want to smell a BW film, they vexed me with their sloppy handling. We could have gotten a proper spy film with it. I see wonder woman is A list too and I guess avengers 2.5 or spiderman is c-list abi.. character popularity is not the only yardstick in box office numbers......ever heard of warcraft I practically grew with that game flopped at the b.o though.... even as a dc fan I must say am really hyped for captain marvel and black panther and sure these movies will be lit MCU phase 3 was kinda meh..... to me but am not trying to start an argument, I generally enjoy both |
