chrisbaxtian: now, imagine there was no mcu, I bet you would think bvs and/or justice league were awesome movies you need something to compare to know the quality of the stuff you've got
BvS is better than a handful of Mcu movies, but I don't have to strength cyber argue, so just ......go away ;/
chrisbaxtian: dust raised by mcu will not settle, because comparisons will always be made. mcu killed it with black panther, now infinity war dey come... the dust will still be up in the air till their next installment
When I see mcu fanboys compare a 10 year old franchise with 18 movies to one with just 5 movies I shake my head....,
The work in progress footage began with a boat sailing off into the sunset. “I can’t believe you’re finally here,” a voice says as the camera goes underwater, “I’ve heard so many stories about you.” Deeper and deeper it goes. We see an almost aqua train as well as transports that look like armored fish. “You’ve come all this way to takes sides against your own people.” A huge arena of people are cheering something. “There are no sides in this war.” Arthur (Jason Momoa) and Mera (Amber Heard) are in a transport coming into this city. “Welcome to Atlantis, Arthur.”
Arthur and Mera emerge on Atlantis and it looks like Los Angeles from Blade Runner, but underwater. Huge, sprawling buildings with bright neon colors on them all. The transport flies (or should we say swims) through the city. “My brother has come from the surface to challenge me for the throne,” says Orm, played by Patrick Wilson. He and Arthur are now in a red room, circling each other. Then they’re jumping at each other with tridents underwater. Next, two people are fighting on the beach. Willem Dafoe’s character, Nuidis Vulko, is telling Arthur he must unlearn what he’s learned on the land. We realize the person fighting on the beach was a young Arthur Curry. He’s running, he’s flying, all in the past. A submarine emerges from the ocean and we see the grown Arthur jump into it. “I’m a blunt instrument and I’m very good at it,” he tells Mera. He wants to change who he is and embrace his heritage. She says that “it will be destroyed unless you help us,” which we assume is Atlantis.
Then things get bigger. Huge swarms of sharks, big armies. More, big underwater buildings, then back to Earth and Arthur walking in the desert. He’s told he has to “go deep to uncover your Atlantian instincts.” “There’s a war coming to the surface and I’m bringing the wrath of the seas with me,” Orm says. We see a huge armies breaking through some big barriers. A shark jumps and bites someone. Then the title: Aquaman.
Guys, I know Wb messed up, but which studio hasn't. 20th century fox. did with xmen origins and apocalypse, paramount did with the transformers franchise. and i can never forgive them for the last airbender.... Disney did with John Carter (whose budget is almost that of JL).
let's not forget the amazing dc films that wb actually brought our way.... The dark knight trilogy, watchmen, superman 1 & 2, v for vendetta, Constantine, Bvs, MoS, WW, tim Burton batman and batman returns etc. not to mention other great franchises under the Wb umbrella.....
let's let bygones be bygones. constantly discussing the woes of the Dceu is tiring.
Can't see Black panther in theatres, shame I was really anticipating this one, but it released when I'm in school...... I'll just wait till I can torrent it. No spoilers please.
Minemrys: i don't kn0w, am starting to wish param0unt pictures own Dc comics. Or lionsgate. Lionsgate produce better films.
Now, a studio that's the 2nd in the Hollywood big 6 and the second best studio in the film industry globally is being compared to a studio whose best entry is hunger games? this comment makes me question your movie knowledge...
bladerunner was originally over 3 hours it cut down but still worked, Rogue one was massively reshot but it turned out great, Wb can't be villains to themselves, the boxoffice doesn't affect you it affects them, they made some clumsy decisions...... but it's 2018 and i think we should move past this and look ahead, 2018 is a great year for cbm's, I'm looking forward to blackpanther, can't see it now cause am in school......
TonySpike: Time will tell... I don't personally like Geoff's approach to DCEU. He seem to want to take cues from Kevin Feige, which is why Justice League ended up like Suicide Squad. He, with WB, tried as much as possible to truncate the Justice League storyline from MOS, BVS and Wonder Woman. He gave us the mess we got! A villain with no motivation, forceful and awful Superman re-introduction and underwhelmed Batman. He might be doing a great job in the comics division but he has almost zero experience in blockbuster movies. He had better remain in DCTV with CW series, where mediocrity and cheesy acting is normal.
I have no idea the amount of influence Geoff had on jl but , he is still a very talented guy and understands this characters more than most, that's why he's still involved with dc films , that's why he's one of the heads at Dc entertainment, he's among the reason Dc is killing it with rebirth, he's Doomsday clock is the biggest hit of 2017 ...... Don't know what you think about Geoff but he's talented at what he does in his environment, and that does not include dealing with studios and directors and actors, he's better as a creative head and Wb has done a good job, specifying that role . And you don't have to highlight the problems with jl with every comment, yeah jl underperformed, yeah it had flaws, but I had a great time in the theater and I'll like to keep an open mind going forward..... The point of making mistakes is so you can learn from them , not b*tch about every two secs.....
TonySpike: I don't know what to make of this news. WB is actually the greatest problem with DCEU. Let them stop interfering with the director's vision. At last, it seem Geoff John has been booted out: he and Whedon made a mess of Justice League reshoots!
Geoff is still involved with the dceu guy, in a more advisory role..... plus he's cco at Dc entertainment, lol I love Geoff and his work, but they really needed someone that understands both the creative and business side of film making..... The talent in Warner is in New line, I'm glad they are stepping up to Wb..... I think it's a good decision by Wb.....
Walter Hamada (producer of It and the conjuring series and shazam) has been named new head of Dc films.....
About f**king time WB,
between wan, Sandberg, emmerich and Hamada I'll say the New line cinema boys are taking over...... Him having a history with horror movies is interesting..... we'll see though.
TonySpike: Well, there isn't much news for DC in 2018 as only one movie will be released, ala Aquaman. The first trailer should be released by March/April. Let's hope this movie will not be butchered by Warner Brothers like JL, already they have lost some goodwill from JL's interferences.
Happy new year, guys!

Lh19: Honestly WB don't consider their fans when they do stuffs but it's Flashpoint I'm hyped for in as much as it's not till 2019. What's Ready player one about
Stephen Spielberg is adapting the book ready player one (my favorite sci fi novel) its a futuristic world where everyone is into this virtual game world called the oasis..... It's super complicated but one of the best novels out there , you should really check out the book, and it has like two trailers now you can check those out, it releases March 2018 plus it's f**king Spielberg and the trailers are so dope got to admit WB got me hyped for this one
honourable356: This sounds more like a true life story... and I like it that way.
But...
Facts were highly exaggerated. Nine out of ten times, a lady who met you only on one occasion before in which she embarrassed you won't invite you to a dinner on the second meeting unless we are looking at a white lady.
A nigerian lady no matter how confident, exposed or experienced she is won't read the said Christian the way that lady did and then try help him overcome his shyness unless she is older than he is.
As far as alot of Nigerian ladies are concerned, stuffs like that only happen if they are familiar with you... it doesn't just happen after one meeting, it doesn't.
Finally, a university guy crying in the arm of a lady he is just having a second or perhaps third encounter with?? Those who have been to the university and graduated will agree that is is highly highly unlikely for such a thing to happen... are we looking at a 15years old guy or a 23years old guy??
Christian bought food for Kate and her friends and also paid for their take away... is he from a wealthy family?? Whatever the case is, I find it. absurd for a lady meeting a dude for the second time, while they are not dating and demanding he buy lunch for her and her friends plus take away..
This is an interesting story that would teach... I mean would go along way to help some guys becomes confident.. but exaggerating too much would still discouraged the shy.
Quiet entertaining... Good job infant.. I am with you till the end.
lol the war between dc fans and wb is laughable lol, Aquaman cold be dope though, as for now the only movies I'm anticipating next year is Ready player one , infinity war, Alita battle angel and fantastic beasts...... I ain't seeing Aquaman in theatre, I sha tried for dc, marvel and lucasfilms this year...... All worth it though except Gotg2 and The last Jedi (I paid extra because of Christmas).....sha I hop wb and dc gets their act together, I'll always support them and dc characters..... 2017 was a good year for cbm's
nairalandic: can someone please move this list to front page so others can see ...
This list is based on feature, price and rate at which people are buying it, the list is based on top smartphones on the market for iOS and Android.
Its diffcult for us to say, with confidence, which smartphone is the absolute, all-around best. And that’s only because of the polarizing differences between iOS and Android not to mention all the other preferences to choose from (camera, gaming, budget and screen size).
Take a look and we guarantee you’ll find the best smartphone for you, beginning with the very best phone currently available…

TonySpike: There was no way MOS would have made a billion. I did an analysis of the Superman franchise some several pages ago. That franchise had literarily died when Snyder, Goyer and Nolan reinvigorated it. Heck, Superman Returns (2006) which was a Reeve interpretation of the character bombed very hard at the box office barely making back its budget. I will say it loud again that if the Reeve interpretation is brought back again, it will bomb hard. What I do find hilarious are the set of audience implying that Superman is too dark and moody, where were they when the campy and "right" interpretation of superman in Superman Returns was released? In all of these, I think the internet has not been fair to the DCEU. Critics and audience alike always latched on the DCEU negatively most of the time. It was as if someone was skewing the PR to paint DCEU very bad, and of course, that's why Disney has been the major suspect. Imagine Star Wars TLJ with a 93% critic approval earned about 52% audience approval. Were the critics pretending not to see those loopholes or decided to ignore them because it's Disney? I read that David Ayer's new movie, Bright, with Netflix was rated 30% on rotten tomatoes and yeah mostly because of his previous work on Suicide Squad. Bright currently has audience rating of over 89% on the same rotten tomatoes. Is there a vendetta within the critics community? Yeah, something is not right...
actually Bright was supposed to be a game changer..... getting big budget films direct to streaming, studios like disney making billions in theatre tried to sabotage it, honestly bright is a cool movie should be at the least around the 70-75% region
TonySpike: So, I eventually watched Justice League and I'm here to give my take on the movie. I believe the movie suffered from bad PR right from its announcement and then through directorial changes, and finally studio interference. The narrative of this theatrical version leaves much to be desired; it seems like a product with its quality between a series episode and my desired movie. It did not seem like I was watching a movie but I also did not feel like I was watching a serie episode.
In my opinion, the first two scenes (shot by Whedon) before the opening credits were unnecessary and irrelevant. The music accompanying the opening credit was dumb. I had expected the ancient war to be the base motivation for this movie where Darkseid, stepphenwolf and motherboxes would be fully explained. Instead, we got this war as a mere narration by wonder woman! This scene should have been the center piece of the movie right from the beginning.
I expected more narratives on the mythology of Atlantis and Themiscyra but I got none. Apparently, this was cut off by Whedon and WB. Batman was downgraded from his awesomeness in BVS while Superman was unnecessarily overpowered. There was no logic as to how Superman suddenly knew that he had freeze breath. This is apparently due to the reshoots undetaken by WB and Whedon. There were no suspenses or dark moments in the entire movie except for the Stepphenwolf Themiscyra scene which was obviously shot by Snyder. That scene made my heart miss a beat, very beautiful scene. The scene from the superman resurrection at Metropolis was not engaging, it lacked enough science. The third act was a disaster! It didn't feel like the movie was fought on earth or like there were any stakes during the fight.
The movie reshoots destroyed an already cohesive story written by Chris Terrio and ruined the previous events from BVS, MOS and Wonder Woman. No wonder Snyder decided not to look at his butchered movie before premiere. It was right he stepped aside in May 2017. Yes, I have Geoff John to blame for all of this especially for giving these silly ideas for making and Batman and Superman "right". The movie is actually a Frankenstein. The worst DC movie in my opinion only seconded by Suicide Squad! WB should stay away from interfering with DC movies, they ruined everything.
Summary: The movie lacked the epicness and awesomeness of MOS, BVS and Wonder Woman. Verdict: A step in the reverse direction! Final Grade: 6/10
ok, I agree with most of that..... Had the chance to see Star Wars BTW, it's like rougue one was a fluke.... TLJ Is meh...
Minemrys: jealous of ir0n man 2 villain? Why would i be jealous? Its a m0vie man n0t like my life depends on it or anything. I aint being paid self so why would i envy any c0mpany? What i pointed out in my short review is the level of critical backlash facing DC films by critics whereas other films are given the soft spot. Look at the ghostbusters female film, whiplash in ir0n man 2 and tell me those films deserve the level of praise they got. They make these films lo0k like they are disasters when there are s0me that are outrightly bad but given a pass. Drop this marvel/dc thingy, do u think steppenwolf or jl deserved the bashing it got?
it didn't steppenwolf was a good villain and fit for uniting the league, critics just have it out for Snyder
