Reports say that a male Boko Haram bomber has again attacked the University of Maiduguri barely 48 hours after the tertiary institution was attacked by female bombers. Sahara Reporters writes that the bomber attempted to bomb another students' hostel at the university. The report quoted a source as saying that the bomber detonated his bomber just behind the Demonstration Secondary School at the university at the back of E.T.F hall which is a hostel full of students. The online news medium furthers security guards at the school as saying that only the bomber died in the explosion. Premium Times said the bomber detonated his explosive device just outside the perimeter fencing of the school. It quoted the Borno State police commissioner Damian Chukwu as saying the incident happened at about 10 a.m. The bomber appeared to have panicked after seeing a security guard The bomber, he said, hid near UNIMAID’s Children Secondary School and exploded his device when a security man came in his direction. He confirmed Sahara Reporters report that only the bomber died. Premium Times reports that the attack is the third at the university in less than two weeks and has caused tension among students and staff. The bomber was the only casualty in the attack It has however heightened tension in the campus, as students and staffers alike expressed worries over the frequent attacks there. Earlier on Friday, May 19 that Boko Haram bombers launched two separate attacks at the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) killing a guard at the institution. The attacks were carried out on the night of Thursday, May 18, and in the early morning of Friday, May 19. Abu Babati who is the president of the student union government of the university confirmed the attack. The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has debunked rumour of extension of the date of registration for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Dr Fabian Benjamin, the Head of JAMB Information and Media, dismissed the rumour in a statement issued to newsmen on Friday in Abuja. He urged candidates and parents to disregard rumour of extension of the date of registration. JAMB has urged candidates and parents to disregard any rumour of extension of the date of registration. He said:“the Board has closed registration and there is no plan to extend the date. “The registration has not been extended except for those who had pins but couldn’t register as at May 5, when we closed registration. “These categories of Nigerians are allowed to register and a date will be set aside for them to write their examination.” Benjamin explained that the examinations had so far been conducted for 1,698,835 candidates, adding that the remaining 19,950 candidates would sit for the examination on Saturday, May 20. He said that the board would conclude the ongoing examination on May 20. He said that the results of the examination were being released for candidates to check, except on Friday and Saturday. He said that examination results had already been sent to candidate’s mails and pasted on JAMB website, adding that candidates could check and print their result with either their registration number or with their email address. He advised candidates with challenges to log onto the JAMB website: http://www.jamb.org.ng for detailed information and enquiries. The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has denied the rumour concerning the deduction of candidates' marks in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Dr Fabian Benjamin, the Head of JAMB Information and Media, denied the reports in a statement in Abuja advised candidates to disregard the rumour.. According to Benjamin, the rumour is false, devilish and a ploy to cause disaffection among candidates who participated in the 2017 UTME. “It is no longer news that all our centres have CCTV camera and we have watched all proceedings at the Computer Based Test (CBT) centres across the nation. “Those involved in any infraction will be sanctioned in accordance with the provision of the Examination Malpractice Act. “The board has not deducted any marks from any candidate and is not contemplating doing that as it is not a condition for sanction in any of the provisions of the law against malpractice. “Again, we call on all candidates to be mindful of fraudulent characters who will send misleading information to create panic and take advantage of the situation to defraud them”. He advised candidates to login to check the result with their registration number or with email address and urged candidates with any challenge not to hesitate to contact the board or check the organisation’s Website for detailed information and numbers for enquiries. Here are 8 Tips That Helps You To Keep Your Blog Contents Fresh: 1. Keep up with current events. Are there current events the evoke strong feelings for you? Do you have a strong stance regarding upcoming elections or leaked celebrity photos? What are the topics that are weighing most heavily on the minds of your readers right now? Pick one and write about it. 2. Join some blog linkups! There are many linkups out there that give you a topic to get you started. Then, you can take it from there. Some of favorites are Finish the Sentence Friday, Five Minute Friday and Mama Kat’s Writer’s Workshop just to name a few. 3. Institute some themes. Posting about the same theme on a regular basis might seem counter intuitive to keeping content “fresh,” but it keeps you posting and keeps you thinking about new ways to approach the topic. 4. Invite someone to guest post. You may be all out of ideas, but maybe some of your blogging buddies aren’t! Ask them to guest post on your blog. Not only does it give you a break, but it might bring both of you some new readers. 5. Re-visit previous posts. If you just have a post or two from way back when you first started blogging that didn’t get many views. Now might be a great time to rewrite it or change it up a bit and make it new again. 6. Know your readers and ask them questions. When you are really stumped, why not utilize social media and ask your readers what THEY want to read? They might have some questions or topics in mind that you never thought of. 7. Find your voice. This seems to be the greatest commandment of blogging, but it can be hard to do. It’s important, though, because it allows you to take a topic that has been done to death and do it again – in YOUR voice. Can you say it differently with humor or by adding your own experiences? It may be a topic that has been written about a million times (i.e. potty training), but if you haven’t written about it yet, think about how you can make it new by inserting your own point of view and your own style. 8. Take a Break. Sometimes, this one is our last resort, but it shouldn’t be. As bloggers, we like to think that the blogosphere would self implode if we didn’t post anything for an entire week or (gasp!) even longer. The truth is, it won’t. When your body is tired, you rest it. When your mind is tired, you should rest it, too. If you are struggling with writing (or with life), there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking a step back, a little vacation, from it. You might find that it’s just what you need to refresh, refocus, and come back better than ever! http://www.yukhub.com/311/8-tips-to-keep-your-blog-contents-alway-fresh |

You need to understand that the post title you choose for your copy is just like a newspaper headline. It either grabs attention or it doesn’t, and I’m sure you want your headline to attract as many people as possible. 1. Focus on solving a problem, not selling something. The first thing to do while creating an eye-catching headline is to focus on helping. If you check out most of the articles ranking high in Google, you will find that their focus is mainly about helping people solve a particular problem. Remember this: Your headline will always perform better if it is helpful. 2. Come up with many ideas. There is nothing more important than the your headline, they attribute to the success of your blog post. You have to select a headline that seems more promising compelling, and attention-grabbing. When you write a blog post, write lots of headlines before choosing a winner. You can use a headline analyzer to help you out. The more you do this, the better and more professional you’ll become at crafting great headlines. 3. Keep a swipe file. A swipe file is a collection of different headlines that have already proven to work for others. This helps you get inspiration when you need to come up with a great title. A good example of this is the Jon Morrows Headline Hacks eBook. With this book alone, I’ve been able to write consistently better headlines over time. You can always use your swipe file as a source of inspiration to write good headlines whenever you’re lost or stuck. According to Brian Clack, swipe files can’t even really be considered cheating. It’s just the way it’s done if you want to write effective copy, especially when starting out. Only once a copywriter has a true understanding of what works can they take a completely original approach. Even then, it’s pretty rare to come up with a gangbuster headline that is 100% unique. Using these templates can ultimately increase the effectiveness of your blog post titles, and hence, the ultimate read rate of your blog posts. Start gathering good headlines from across the web. Start to pay attention to the things you click on and WHY you’re clicking. Figure out what works and then copy the model. 4. Use numbers (preferably odd numbers). Several pieces of research have proved that using numbers in your headlines tend to get 73% more social shares and engagements. What’s more is that addingspecific numbers (like data) to your headlines is a good way to make the title more exciting to your readers. One of the major reasons why using numbers in headlines works is because numbers are like “brain candy”. This is to say that the brain is very receptive to numbers. I also want you to know that there’s a science behind odd numbers. Odd numbers tend to perform better, and that’s why you often see blogs using odd numbers in their headlines. Research carried out by Content Marketing Institute discovered that the brain seems to believe odd numbers more than even numbers. It was also discovered that odd numbers help people digest and recall information more easily. When they tweaked one of their headlines to include the odd number “7”, the click through rate increased by 20%. 5. Include positive words. Using positive superlatives in your headline will help make it more emotional. This will, in turn, make it more enticing and attention-grabbing. Some positive superlatives that will enhance your headline writing include: Perfect Funniest Best Biggest Always Fastest Easiest Most Greatest Largest Hottest Strongest Ever Top 6. Use negative words to highlight fear. Fear is a strong emotion which can make anyone take action on a given task. A study carried out by Outbrain found that headlines featuring negative superlatives performed 30% better than those with positive superlatives. Some of the negative superlatives you can use include: Never Worst By No Means Nothing No One No Way None Also, using words like Stop, Avoid, and Don’t in your headline is a good idea, too. Examples: “ Stop Making These Silly Blogging Mistakes“ “The 5 Worst Excuses For Not Living Your Dream Life” 7. Make use of brainstorming tools. The availability of tools on the internet has made most tasks easier and less time-consuming. There are tools out there that you can use to help come up with great headlines. If you have tried all the other methods mentioned here but still can’t get a thought-provoking headline, then try using some tools to help. Examples: Coschedule Headline Analyzer Pr Headline Generator Finally, keep on tweaking and learning how to write attention grabbing headlines, and soon, you’ll become a master one day.
