I finished talking about this in my last post, some persons already sent me mails and feedbacks asking questions and I have tried my best to respond, over a hundred people have read this already and I'm sure some agree with me. There will always be a thousand reasons why you should not do something. Nigeria needs help, NBS stated 8 million jobs lost last year alone.

Brother, If I sounded offensive or vulgar to you in anyway in my posts please forgive me, it was not my intention.
Have a great 2018.

Are you sure you took time out to read and unserstand the post?
the only thing he got free was cement bags, and local seeds, soil is free, he paid for every other thing and his start up then was about 7,000 naira, accounting for inflation and other permutations setting up same business at that scale today should not exceed 40,000.

The thing is our youth are too comfortable, you work in lagos earn less than 50k monthly you should be worried, and it should get you thinking. don't tell me we can't get 100,000 small business start up, Nigeria is not Togo or any other small country. our population makes it feasible to get that number

believe me I have met young people, young farmers even women doing business with very low capital, I Met a lady in Abeokuta who grows cassava she has hectares of cassava farm now, a graduate after over one year searching for job. started cultivating in her fathers land and is a full time farmer now. will it be a smooth ride no, but is it possible yes because there are several people doing it.

with the mindset you have you may never start up even when you have 500,000 or 1 million naira, the money in your Hand will always be too small to start a business, it is easier to spend it and pray for miracle, Change your mindset, this are not theories or fairytale, it is happening real and practical no stories. you are a salary earner save up and look for something to invest in, create another stream of income for yourself.

Again to buttress my point; there are businesses you can start up with less than 100,000 naira many people have done it and more are coming in already, take a walk around your area, interact with business people and you will see many people who start up with less.

Stop being comfortable
Be inspired,
Get motivated,
Plan to start a business in 2018

Follow this link to read a well detailed and explained farm business someone started with less than 10,000 naira and is doing well now. let's stop thinking it is too small to start up a business, look around you get ideas trade with them. Stop being comfortable with where you are now, invest today and grow tomorrow. you must break out to break through.

Your story sounds good but if I sit down with you and pencil down what is needed to get all the businesses you have mentioned down, even N500,000 might struggle to start any of them. This is the reality. But not saying you are not making sense.

I think you have spotted what many have not. And this is how to make money. Concerning your plantain business, you were just lucky to be sent to the area. But the point is how many people have been sent to places like that and could still not spot what you spotted? Hmmm. It means, what you did is rare. And saying 100,000 people can easily spot rare opportunity like yours might be unrealistic.

Sir/Madam, do not confuse divine opportunity with "we can do it very well" businesses. When luck comes ones way, it is unbelievable. Divine favor makes it look very easy. I am talking from experience. Gifts and talents are taking for granted many times. When a talented pupil solves mathematical problems, it looks so easy but the reality is that normal/above average pupils struggle with same tasks. And it does not mean the talented pupil will be more successful. Sometimes, I wonder who put combination and permutation into mathematical expression. Expressing different possible choices into mathematical expression is amazing.

Well, in a well estalished country , people pray for luck and divine oppornity to earn or make large profit. I do not think they search hard to save $200 to start a business because it is practically impossible. $200 is just too small for normal operations but maybe a unique system can get the job done. Not saying divine opportunity cannot do it. But must we wait for divine opportunity?

Telling people to start a small scale farm with N50,000 might be wrong. Please, just try to be careful as you mentor anyone who decides to establish a business which employs 2 people with N50,000. I agree you may contract out some jobs as paying salary out of the little start up cash might be impossible. And many farm businesses need at least a full time worker or a regular part time one.

I am not saying you are a fraud but scammers present what is unbelievable to desperate people. My advice is that if you decide to mentor your readers, do it with a clean heart. After all, the grace you carry to make something out of nothing can be passed to people around. Well, the truth is that it is only in a poor country people find extreme cheap ways and many still get their fingers burnt.

Better to go with what is realistic but who am I to say it is not possible.

May God reward you according to your intention. If your style is genuine and you decide to assist many, may God reward you according to your deeds in multiple folds. But if it is in the other way around, you will lose multiple folds. It is not a curse.

In anyway, more blessings. See you at the top.
I was not Lucky to start up because I was sent to that area, I don't believe in luck, I believe in cause and effect and the blessings of God. I was not the only one posted to that area, and i would have still looked for opportunities if I was posted to any other area.

you waited for divine opportunity all through last year but it did not come, you have decided to wait for it again this year, Good luck sir, and happy waiting but bear in mind that starting a small business will not stop the divine opportunity from coming.

what I have suggested are not unrealistic, I don't know why you are painting it such, I didn't hear stories I met with the people doing the businesses listed above and yes they started with less than 100,000

Yes there are Nigerians who cannot save up to 15,000, infact many can't save anything but we still have those who already have over 100,000 or who can raise it over a short time.

I have not in any way asked for financial support or investment in my business, you brought that up here, i am not a fraud i am not a scammer, dont portray me as such. I don't need your money, it is just my heart desire to see many small scale businesses spring up this year. It is possible it is practical, it would be tough and rough but with the the right mentality and positive attitude you will scale through.

Lol.
Very interesting question. What is the true value of N100,000? What can it do?

OP should answer the question. I am very curious what he will start mentioning, especially under agriculture.

1. Please, could you state explicitly just 5 businesses you can start with N50K - N100K

2. 100,000 people to create 100,000 jobs? Hmmmm. My question is: how many Nigerians do you think can save just N15,000 monthly from their present pay?

3. What is poverty? Don't we know Nigeria is extremely poor? Not only poor in materials but also poor in using common sense. Poverty do not make its victims think at all. It is far better to think negatively, foolishly, or recklessly than not to think at all. Poverty turns its victims to "MuMu United". "Dummies" are "La Cram, La Pour". Don't we know? Anyway, I am so curious to read your proposal. My point is survival is the aim. Poverty switch the medulla oblongata to "let me just survive". Survival becomes involuntary reflex when Mr. Poverty is present. "Wetin guy wan use him brain think other than to just survive today"? A beg, tomorrow can handle itself. Lol.

Ok. Since you have ideas, kindly share business ideas like you wrote above, and not "come invest N50k each in my farm business". smiley
Good day sir and thanks for reaching out, I don't think it is unrealistic for Nigeria to have 100,000 business start ups this year, in fact it is very possible considering our population of about 170 million. again things are hard but if you dont choose to come out you will stay where you are for ever,

The examples I gave are not theoritical, they are practical, I gave examples because I have met and i know the people doing this business and they started up with less than 100,000. the lady I met doing the school runs started it last year, she has a bus driver who she engages (hires)for few hours in the morning to take kids to school and in in d afternoon to take them back home, she uses an 18 seater bus but has over 20 kids daily and other examples too.

The bottom line is there are opportunities, the examples I gave may not satisfy you but there are people doing this and if you look inwards and around you, you will see good businesses you can start up.

And no I am not asking you to invest in my farm business. we are in a very good place now and business is good. Thanks

I love this post.
I really need to start up a business but the issue remain lack of Capital.
For one that has N50,000 - N100,000,
what businesses can they start in Nigeria.
Thanks.
Thanks a lot for reaching out, There are two things I always tell people starting up small businesses;
1. consider your immediate environment
2. Consider your interest

1. because you have limited capital you should consider the needs of your immediate environment and your target market so you can start up a business that meets those needs and generate profit for you.

2. Whatever business you are starting up, limited capital will be frustrating but your interest will motivate you, so don't just choose a business but goose one that you have passion for and when things are tough it becomes easy to encourage yourself and pull through.

That being said with 50 - 100, 000
1. Sales: Buying different products and commodities and selling in areas where they are not readily available
2. You can set up a laundry business
3. school runs, taking kids in your area to school and bringing them back home. some private schools don't have transport facilities, and some parents can afford to pay up to 5,000 monthly per child, but you have to be popular and trusted in your area
4. Producing local drinks like zobo and kunu, with good packaging and selling in social gatherings around you
5. setup a mini restaurant/eatery- Grills etc.
6. if you have interest in Agriculture
-Vegetable farming, (any type of vegetable sells in the city) you can lease land for vegetable farming at 10, 000 for one year. really some of us looking for jobs in lagos even have plots of land in our hometown, some in ogun and other neighboring states, let's go back invest in this land and make money,

-Snail Farming, very easy to start up, and is less time demanding

-Smoked fish production, all you need is a local smoking kiln medium size, fish, spices, and packaging materials

-Buying Agric products like yam, plantain, palm oil etc from the villages that produce them and selling in the city

i know it sounds too easy or its easier said than done but in truth the opportunities are inexhaustible, just look at your environment, there Is something you can start up, Nigeria is a market, our population is an Avenue to make money.

As a youth corper about 6 years ago, the village where I served produce very big plantains, all through my nysc I was buying plantain at ridiculously low prices directly from this farmers, transporting in pick up trucks and selling in lagos, after service I was able to start my plantain farm in that village on 10 plots paying in installment, but today the plantain farm is over 30 acres fully paid for.

I have been able to properly setup my business and have expanded my farm network to ibadan also, I started transporting plantain with less than 70,000 now I have 18 full time staff and over 50 casual contract workers on my payroll. Because I am interested in farming I was determined to make it and i have only just started.

Firstly Happy New Year to my Fellow Nairalanders, may our
successes and accomplishments this year wipe away the
struggles of our past years

This is a call to duty and a plea for every one of us to engage in
one business enterprise or the other this year 2018. You would
agree with me that jobs are failing in this country, Unemployment
ravages our nation and our youth resort to all manner of societal
ills just to survive. even those with jobs are not treated fairly by
their employers, appointements get terminated for flimsy reasons
and no benefits accrued. Truth is d economic climate of Nigeria
is harsh and business owners are doing everything possible to
stay afloat and make profit.

The best way forward is to start a business, those who currently
have jobs should start a business by the side and watch it grow
till you can even resign and face your business squarely, believe
you me there are businesses we can start with 50 -100,000 look
around you gather the little you have and start something.

If you have access to funds and have huge capital please go into
production, produce consumables, if you don't have huge capital
there are small business you can startup that will not require
constant electricity and other huge capital costs. China, India and
the likes run to Nigeria to establish because of our population,
there is an abundant market here let's maximize it, if 100,000
people, can start up small businesses and employ 2 people each,
we would have created jobs for at least 200,000 other people. it
may look small but it's a step in the right direction.

This is my pennies Worth for us all moving into 2018
I am not a jack of all trades, I don't know all business but I am a
farmer and if you want to invest in Agriculture you can talk to me

Again Happy New Year Nairalanders,

The drug I was adviced to take however is a rocephin, 7 day injection
Sir if u did a lab test and u are sure it's from a standard lab, my advice is to follow the prescribed treatment, if they say u have staph den u have staph. treat as prescribed then flush ur system taking only water and fruits for one week and treat general infection with herbal mixture again retake d lab tests to ensure u are free
P.S
Stay away from sex for this period
Avoid sugar for this treatment period
Avoid all -knowing online doctors especially those on nairaland giving advice from their house, they can kill faster than d staph itself.
