@all4naija I am very happy to hear that you are willing to share your life and culture with another person not of your race, I have always shared my life with other races and have adopted them into my home, I have also done my best to learn of their culture, they and and myself have become a special blend, I want very much to learn of my Man's culture and traditions, I look forward to it, as far as respect, that goes with out saying, and please why the emphasis there, it should be a given, no?. Could you please tell your views on Nigerian Man/ White woman relationships, I am curious, and anything else you wish to tell me that may help in making my relationship work. thank you kistehsia |
@lefulefu I am looking forward to a long lasting relationship, we are making sure we do everything right! I am remaining positive in spite of what others may have to say, I do not, nor does he find our relationship something to laugh at or make jokes of, we are very serious about the commitment we wish to make to one another, We have talked at length and touched on every subject and have a common ground where this relationship lies, we are very committed to making this work, I want to say thank you to all the positive feed back I have received, kistehsia |
It would be greatly appreciated if certain people would refrain from insulting me, I have done nothing to warrant such behavior, only asked for advice on something I am trying hard to do correctly, so please stop, I am asking nicely! Don't make a mockery out of my situation. kistehsia |
I did not want to cause any friction among others, just wanted advice on how to make this relationship WORK, we (he and I) have shared a lot over the past several weeks. We have a lot of common interests and both have a desire to help the less fortunate , (children affected by HIV in particular) , It only made sense I go to Mexico as I have friends there and can come and go as I please (a safe place to stay), If this trip proves successful then I wish to do all that I can to make him feel comfortable and welcome in my home and country! It is much easier for him to relocate to Canada then it is for me to leave, I have a lot of commitment to children here and I take that very seriously, they are a huge part of my life. He understands this, and I appreciate the fact that he does. I just wanted to know what I could do to help with his comfort in this transition if it is to take place, Thank You everyone for your concern and advice kistehsia |
@ Mrs. Chima No Sir I would not go to Mexico, I would wait till he came here to Canada, kistehsia |
To put some things to rest, I am going to Mexico, I have friends who live there, it is a holiday for me, and yes he will then come visit here with his VISA, which is in the works, thank you for the concern |
@ Mrs. Chima Yes it is best you get off this thread, I am a firm believer in that if you have nothing nice to say, it best you say nothing at all, you Sir would do well to remember that, Constructive criticism is welcomed but disrespect may take the door, kistehsia |
@claremont I am wondering so myself, am I not supposed to trust the Man i call my bf, we have exchanged a lot, what check are we talking about before i go divulging personal information about someone i care deeply about? just curious, |
@ubong ekpe Yes I will do that, Thank you very much, for your help, greatly appreciated! kistehsia ![]() |
"Have you eaten?" can be a very real question with real concern, My Man asks me this question often, I am a diabetic! If I don't eat when I should there could be serious complications, don't mistake concern for "no brains" just not nice, especially when there are people out there that are starving, JMO kistehsia |
@claremont Thank you for the wonderful compliment, I do my best to take care of myself in order to take care of others, and yes i will disregard the negative comments and do as I see fit! Thank you. ![]() |
@ noblemuk Thank you for the sound advice, We do talk often, every day, we are fortunate that there is only a one hour time difference between us, We do share the same beliefs as Christians. As for being faithful loyal, with out question.( I was married for 20 yrs, and neglected and still remained faithful) We are as we speak learning all there is to learn of each other before me meet in October, there are and will be no secrets, I believe in trust, communication, respect, and God as my Father as does he! I just want this to be a successful journey, and will do all and take all precautions to ensure it does, Like I said before I take our relationship very seriously and want to learn as much as I can. Thank You! |

Yes! Nigerian in Mexico, moved there several months ago with close friend of 9 years, is an Engineer and works in Mexico! kistehsia, |
@ Pendo Amen! LOL |
Thank You Pendo for the kind words, and your concern for my heart is touching, I am very sure of what I want, and go into this with eyes wide open, He shares the same concerns I do for helping the less fortunate, which puts us on common ground right there, and the rest just gets better. Thank you |
May I say, I take any relationship seriously, have not been in many, was married for 20 years, am a loyal, honest loving person, I want to make this work and realize that we are of different cultures so this is what brought me here! I want to learn, to do all that I can to make it right, If I start learning now then to me this is commitment that I make to the relationship. Thank You |
@ claremont Thank You for the Well Wishing, greatly appreciated. |
It is mutual, seems to be an equal amount of interest, not one sided! @ pendo May I ask why you asked this question? He faithfully phones the same time everyday, faithfully talks via web cam the same time every evening as we are only an hours difference in time, and we say our good nights till the next day. |
Yes, meeting him is the beginning of it all, and it is going to happen. I look forward to the visit with each day, as does he, but in the mean time we have plenty to talk about and will not feel like total strangers when we do meet in person, a pleasant way to start the relationship. kistehsia. |
I said I was the" older of the 2". That did not mean I was older by 2 years, it is by more then 2, it is by a fewwwww! that being said, I don't need to be called names, we (he and I) are aware of this and it matters not to us. I am here to learn all that I can to make him happy, feel loved, and comfortable in my country that I wish to soon be his!, We both have very supportive families and I want his transition to be as pleasant as possible, Thank You, |
LOL! Yes he is real, we have talked plenty on the phone, and MSN via web cam, and yes I will be visiting in October, thank you for your concern! kistehsia ![]() |

Hi there, I too have just started a long distance relationship, very new to me! I want very much to make it work, I am Canadian (white/native), He is Nigerian (residing in Mexico), Not only are we dealing with the different culture but also an age gap, me being the older of the 2. I have been totally honest with everything there is to tell about myself, including the fact that I have two small daughters I have adopted (age 5) one is African/ Vietnamese and the other White/Native, My family is very open to inter-racial relationships, and very accepting. My bf tells me his family and friends are supportive as well. I am a stay at home mom who loves to cook and mind children, have cared for over 40 infants the past 15yrs who are victims of HIV, AIDS and drug and alcohol abuse, Now I want to share my life with someone and care for them, and make happy memories together, Any advice on making this relationship work is greatly appreciated, I have fallen in love with this sweet compassionate man! No nasty replies please, just want to do all I can to make it work! Thank you Smiley |
