Three students of the Isa Isa Mustapha Agwai l Polytechnic in Lafia, Nasarawa State have reportedly been shot by gunmen.

It was reported that the gunmen also abducted one female student simply identified as Ajoke, an ND ll student of Science Laboratory Technology.

According to Daily Trust, the incident occurred around 08:00 p.m. on Monday.

The students, who sustained gunshot injuries, were said to be receiving treatment in a hospital.

This is coming days after armed bandits abducted students of the Federal University of Gusau, Zamfara State.

Naija News recalls that the bandits in large numbers invaded the Sabon-Gida community of the Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The Nigerian Army on the 22nd of September, 2023 rescued six out of over 24 abducted female students of the Federal University Gusau in Zamfara State.

It was stated that the troops killed some terrorists during the rescue operation and operational motorcycles, one AK47 rifle and other items belonging to the terrorists were also recovered.

A further report has it that seven kidnapped students of the institution and three construction workers in the institution have regained their freedom.

Nigerian Soldiers Invade Rivers Community Against Court Order, Destroy N500m Properties

There was panic in Mbodo community, Aluu town, under Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State on Friday as men of the Nigerian Army invaded the community and destroyed properties owned by the Amaewhule family.

A Major General, Johnson Iferi, allegedly led other officers to invade the family land in the community.

Report gathered that the current action of the soldiers, who were being instigated by Sam Nyegwa, Wenenda Nyegwa, Ory Martins Akinseloyin, Boeing Luxury Estates Limited and Timit Properties Limited was in violation of a court order.

Coordinator of the Defence Media Operations, Major General John Enenche disclosed this during a briefing in Abuja on Thursday November 12.

Joe Biden has increased his chances of obtaining a US election victory after Wisconsin state’s electoral board leader announced the state has completed its election count with Biden leading.

Wisconsin’s electoral commission administrator Meagan Wolfe announced on Wednesday that all the counties in her state had their ballots totaled, with current results putting Biden 20,697 votes ahead of Donald Trump in the Midwestern key battleground state.

But in a new update, she has now announced that a single township of 300 voters had yet to report its results, but was in the process of counting them.

Wolfe added that her state’s total included all mail-in votes, and that accurate and up-to-date totals had been posted on individual counties websites. The state is now checking its results, with a final winner set to be announced sometime Wednesday afternoon.
Wolfe told NBC News: ‘All of our unofficial results have come in from our local election offices. So how it works in Wisconsin is that individual results are reported by individual recording units, and now we’re in the important process of triple-checking the results.’

Wolfe said she would not be drawn on predictions putting Biden more than 20,000 votes ahead of Donald Trump.

Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, an American non-profit human rights advocacy organisation, has described the democracy being practised in Nigeria as embarrassing, insulting and lacking respect for the rule of law.

The group in a statement on Thursday condemned the killing of unarmed protesters by operatives of the Nigerian Army in Lagos State.

It also declared the detention of prominent human rights defender, Omoyele Sowore, as arbitrary under international law.

The statement reads, “Last week, demonstrations in Nigeria demanding an end to police brutality took a violent turn as security forces shot into the crowd of peaceful protesters. The world watched in horror as videos on social media captured Nigerian security forces murdering people with impunity, leading to widespread calls for police accountability, including shutting down the notorious police unit known as the Special Anti-Robbery Squad.

“Despite a viral campaign to #EndSARS, the perpetrators have not been held accountable, the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has yet to adequately acknowledge the role of state security forces in the violence, and the Nigerian Army seems to have borrowed directly from Trump’s playbook, calling coverage of the attacks, “fake news”.

Breaking News: Several Children Killed As Gunmen Storm Cameroon School

Gunmen stormed a school in southwestern Cameroon, killing at least eight children and wounding a dozen more, according to the United Nations.

The attackers who had guns and machetes arrived on motorbikes and in civilian clothes.

They attacked the Mother Francisca International Bilingual Academy in the city of Kumba, in the country’s Southwest Region, at around midday on Saturday, October 24.

The United Nations described the attack as “the worst atrocity” since the resumption of the school year earlier this month.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack. It was not clear if the attack was linked to a continuing struggle between government forces and armed groups in the English-speaking west seeking to form a breakaway state.
