I had the same opinion about the Eagles in the first half but i changed after watching that match like two times. It is very easy to criticise when you are watching it especially when tension is very high. Watch the match with an objective mind, you,ll appreciate their efforts.

If they had closed down and prevented Ashley Young and Alli from having fun in the flanks, then Sterling from cutting in and attempting to score from the angles, they would not have looked that awful.

Yes Iwobi is creative. He is confident with the ball on his feet, he moves well, positions well, does not indulge in unnecessary dribbling runs, he passes the ball and is also good in 1-2 passes when he wants to navigate some tight and intricate obstacles set by opponents, if people like Ighalo makes the right move when he has the ball, he passes.

Yesterday his pass to Ighalo was surreal, watch it again, it flew over the English defenders in a horizontal projectile manner and when Ighalo hit the bar, he was quick to react. He also dribbled well, sent a diagonal ground pass in the path of on rushing Idowu but awkward Joel got in his way and spoilt what would probably have resulted in a goal or at least a well taken shot would have unsettled the English keeper.

Creativity is not flicking the ball over peoples head needlessly, or nutmegs when your mates are better positioned waiting for you to pass to them. Those are beautiful nonsense.

It also would have ended 6-1 in favour of England but that is football. Nigeria had about 1 good chance and about 5 half chances. Iwobi's brilliance and anticipation gifted Nigeria the goal. England had loads of shots with Sterling being the biggest culprit. Uzoho parried about two shots in front of his post and they would have been converted by England. Idowu and Balogun blocked some goal bound shots as well. Nigeria will need the luck but they have to work hard to not just defend but create chances and shoot accurately.

You are biased. Croatia midfield is doing well. Dont be surprised if Croatia beats Brazil. Brazil started with intimidation but Croatia matched them. Brazil will have to pull something out of the bag to beat them.

On his good day, he tackles well. He is strong, it is hard to bully him off the ball. Loftus Cheek would not have done to him what he did to the likes of Musa in the second half. Only Ogu could match that strength but he loses concentration.

Simi Nwankwo will be Nigeria's joker in the world cup. I believe he will do well for the team. Onazi killed Nigeria yesterday. I have watched that match again. Shehu was not very composed but i think he should start again for Nigeria. Nigeria should keep possession like they have always done during the African qualifying. Keep the passes short if possible, most of the long passes were intercepted. Onazi is strong but very poor concentration in yesterday's match cost Nigeria a lot. He was not moving or positioning himself well. His awkward and poor passes resulted in the free kick which Uzoho parried to corner, the resultant corner kick was badly defended by Ekong and Mikel gifting Cahill the liberty to nod home.

I pray Ndidi recovers soon enough. Overall it was not a bad game for Nigeria. It would have been very disastrous in the first half. Etebo did well linking up the midfield with his tackles, runs and short beautiful passes. They need to work on their shooting as well. Coordination, cohesion, communication especially in the midfield are vital. They were lacking in the first half.

I think Nigeria will surprise the world.

OGa this is football. If you cant hold your goalkeeper accountable for letting in a cheap goal under his arm, then we might as well give everyone on the team a free pass including Onazi.
Why do you think the goalkeeping spot is the most sensitive in the team hence, the call for an experienced head to "man" the post. A goalkeeper can make 20 good saves but one error can undo the good he did all game, especially if it costs his team vital points.

You can't blame the goal keeper for every goal. Do you know how wide that post is? Factor that when you criticise him, Hve you ever played football in a standard football field?

Where was Kane when he took that shot...Distance? acceleration and speed of ball, Goal keeper's reaction...Uzoho actually reacted well. If Kane was about 3 metres away befoe he took that, Uzoho might have stopped it. What were his defenders doing? How did Kane get into that position to pull the trigger?

How many times did Nigeria get into such position against England? How many times did Nigeria hit target?

Joel Obi has lost his form. He hs had enough time to prove himself but he has always struggled. I dont know what Agbo was like but any energetic midfielder with composure, decent tackling and good ball passing ability can easily take his place. It is rude to call him fat and over weight and that's what he is.

You are not Rohr. It will be a mistake if Uzoho is not given the no 1 shirt. He should start in Russia. No matter what happens against Czech, i think he should start against Croatia. If the team is stable, he will shine and stop unbelievable shots. He just need that confidence that comes from knowing your back four and midfield are solid.

Tonight was a case of one onslaught after another. Throughout the 45 mins of the first half, the ball kept coming at him from different angles.

Of course, having a bad team and a very good goalkeeper, is just about delaying the inevitable but in this case, if his reflexes was sharper, he should have stopped that ball because it slipped right under him.
If we can't accept this much, it means we have really low expectations of those representing you and me.

The young man actually saved Nigeria tonight. If a goal keeper keeps you in the match, it shows how consistent the pressures from the opponent were. Uzoho and Iwobi did well. Mikel did better in the second half. Ogu brought some calm. Ebuehi brought in some degree of unpredictability. His runs distabilised the English.

If your midfield is consistently porous, it,ll only be a matter of time before the ball lands in the net no matter how good your keeper is. Uzoho did well and should be the no 1 goalie.

Another thing we can confirm today, which is what I have always known, is that Alex Iwobi is an AM not an inverted winger. And in addition, I am thinking that Omeruo might have snatched Leon Balogun's starting spot.

Omeruo is calm when under pressure while Balogun makes hasty clearances which lands in opponents feet, but Omerou sometimes is guilty of awkward unforced errors. I think he passes the ball better when under pressure.

Simy Nwankwo in my opinion might be Nigeria's joker in Russia. Ighalo is so unpredictable. He is very unstable, panics and does not have the composure characteristic of Nigerian forwards.

Onazi and Joel Obi should not be in that team. Mikel Agu might not be a better replacement but if he can move, position, tackle neatly and pass the ball better, then Onazi should leave the national team. He simply can't move and if he lacks mobility, he should at least keep the ball and utilize it better when he gets it but none of that happened tonight.

Uzoho saved Nigeria tonight coupled with England's wastefulness. They would have scored up to 6 good goals in the first half.

Ighalo in my opinion is not very useful. Simy Nwankwo need to step in and hopefully step up. He can offer Nigeria what Loftus Cheek offered England tonight. Loftus Cheek had the physical presence that intimidated Nigeria in the match. None of the Nigerian players could match him or get the ball off him. I think Nwankwo would give Nigeria what they have been missing. He has the physique and enthusiasm of Yekini, skill and flair of Kanu and the height and strength of Victor Agali...like Agali, his 'head game' is tight and he can move and fast as well.

Nigeria should consider this match a win. The positives to take home would be the wrong report which Croatian and other spies would take home tonight. If Nigeria can compose themselves and survive 60mins of the matches in the world cup without conceding goals, they might come good.

But Onazi and Joel Obi need to leave the camp tonight. If anyone gets injured and Rohr could not get replacements, let them play with 21 men.

Iwobi is limping and need to leave the field before it gets worse for him.

Communication is one of the things Nigeria need to work on. This is the 2nd time two Nigerian players would be colliding in the air. There was miscommunication as well between Idowu and Musa.

Get Ighalo out of there and put Simy Nwankwo there Rohrrrrrr.
