These guys seem to be celebrating already. This reminds me of falcons who went to France talking photos all over the place but on match day, French girls dealt them 8-0. They hid their cameras and disappeared after the match. Nothing was heard of them again. These boys should make sure to match the rating of the Nike shirts and all these showing off in the field of play. They must beat Croatia on the 16th of June. I hope they know the enormity of task that awaits them in Russia. They must not fail. |
![]() ![]() This is one of the funniest threads i,ve come across on nairaland. |
NiajaXionist:Those were Nigerians. Didnt you hear the lady shouting in yoruba language. She made a video and the man at the end said there were waiting for the other people. There were no serious fights though just some women tearing each other's top and another pair jumping about shouting at each other. Watch the video well. I didnt see any punch. The fat was dragging on her kid shouting at an elderly yoruba woman who was seen in the first video sitting and sharing cigarette with the trashy and noisy lady with funny butt cheeks. |
TheSuperNerd:NFF official delegation...100 man strong Players...23 Non players...77 Nice one Nigeria, Nice one. |
DonFreshmoney:You,ve infected me with your monday morning dyslexia. |
DonFreshmoney:I was one of those who discouraged people from doing that and there we go again. What is wrong with you this monday morning bro? It was triple M, now it is double T. |
DonFreshmoney:And why did you have to spell common like that? triple M. You are a gambler, ain't you? Don't lie. I don't believe that you are dyslexic. |
DonFreshmoney:Bike can be a bicycle or motorcycle. |
He should improve on the blood splatter effect. I saw red dye dispersing in the air. |
permit:Do you know him? I have a message for him. He looks like someone i have seen so many times at Festival Place in Basingstoke, Hampshire. |
The first guy sitting from right to left in the front row, I might have met him somewhere. I think his name is Tunde. Anyone know him? |
alsudaes1:You have the eyes of an eagle. I was going to point that out. It's bad photography, he should have looked at the photo before saving it. Ahmed Musa should not be hiding at the corner too. One of Simy or Uzoho should be standing there. |
goldfish80:If they play with such intensity and consistency of performance, England will find them a hard nut to crack. They have not lost in their last 4 friendly matches. I think they will come out of their group in the world cup. |
ChrisKels:The recent craze for emerging foreign based talents with Nigeria/African roots will impact negatively on local talents and football development in Nigeria and Africa. I hope the football authorities prioritise football development, local talent search and the development of these kids. It will inevitably spell doom to sports development in general focusing attention on foreign based talents when less could be spent developing and harnessing the potentials back home. Without serious investment and committed development in the league, Nigeria league especially will be seen as a platform for players to escape to Europe even Sudan, South Africa and North Africa. You will see a player blossom one season and the next season, he will disappear and waste in one obscure league abroad. It is embarrassing watching people argue about the root and parentage of certain players. It was even more shameful watching fans booing Dele Alli over his choice and decision to play for England. What happened to your league? What happened to your primary school, secondary school sports competitions and the talents that emerge from there? What happened to the academies? Countries invest significant amount of finance developing facilities, clubs invest in these kids teaching them the rudiments of the game by providing them with well qualified coaches, provision of standard football pitches and gears only for the likes of Pinnick and co to circle and hover around them like scavengers once the investments start yielding fruits. With all the kids coming out, be aware that not all of them will have what it takes to excel and be successful playing for countries like Nigerian national team, its the bitter reality. There will be the Ainas, Aluko who would not be selected in the final event. Being born abroad should not be a guarantee for invitation to the national team. I watched and witnessed the Athletic federation of Nigeria invite and have American citizens naturalised and represent Nigeria in the Edinburgh common wealth games and it filled me with bitterness. Some of these athletes esp the sprinters struggle to run 100m in 10.10secs. All of them performed woefully in the US qualifications but Nigeria found them worthy to wear the green white green in an international events! How sad. What are the north Africans doing differently? Can't that be replicated? Are those countries richer than Nigeria? Your best league players leave Nigeria league for any of the north African league before signing lucrative contract with a European team. Who reaps the rewards. A Nigeria football league player would first of all attend trials in Europe before being signed for a paltry sum and when that is signed, there are always fights and acrimonies between the parent clubs and the football bodies but it does not happen like that when a north African team is involved. I expect to see all the football experts talking about these and proffering solutions but no you,d rather see them arguing and lamenting that a certain boy with a Nigerian name was playing for the same country that invested and believed in him to excel. You,d expect to see people here discussing the good players in the league and the possibilities of them breaking into the Eagles team but no they,d rather boast of acquiring countless coaching certificates with zero knowledge of what football management is all about. |
OMANBALA1:Those were not Nigeria supporters club. They had different flags and different colours on their musical instruments. |
Ighalo in a Nigeria outfit. Could this be Nigeria's World cup outfit?
|
komekn:Unknown to you, there are people here who have not only played for big teams and at the highest level of football but also at the world cup. Mister, save and channel your brags to people who havent played football. I replied and quoted someone else and of course i made a comment about keyboard managers and of all the hundreds of monikers here who comment, you were the first to get sensitive about that. I dont give a shiot if youve managed Real Madrid, Man U or Barcelona. I will say it again, lots of folks here know nothing about football. They can not manage sunday league teams. Their managerial credentials start and end on nairaland. Folks here will tell you Chelsea formation and tactics, they will give you all the locker room gists and pep talks but they do not know the players of Ashanti kotoko, Enugu rangers, TP Mazembe and Orlando Cosmos but when its is world cup time, they,ll give you hundreds of names they have only seen online or youtube and start acting like they know better than the technical crew who work with the players in the camp. Go manage your teams sir and i hope sky sports, DSTV or ikorodu international sports network pay you millions in contract for your brilliant analysis. |
Maket:What if he was meant to die 5 years ago Bro, you just might have reduced your life span by 5 years. |
komekn:I repeat, many of you here know nothing about football. Go out there, get a team or form one, apply your tactics and formations, manage your team, get into and participate in competitions and prove people wrong. Dont be a nairaland football manager only. Go out there and prove yourself a Mourihno, Klopp or Ancellotti. When you lot are not preoccupied with tactics employed by the manager, you,ll be worried about the players in camp. Go and get your team, apply your football knowledge and wisdom and be a hero, otherwise your knowledge starts and ends on nairaland. Many of you can not even manage a 5 aside team. |
MetalJigsaw:That is one of his main faults. You can argue that he is young, frustrated, intimidated and a bit too humble to confront his backline when they get awkward. Perhaps he does not want to rile anyone of the big boys. He sucks it all up but you can see and feel his frustrations when he suffers unending exposures and vulnerability by throwing tantrums at no one in particular after making a dangerous save. You,ll sometimes see him say something, throw or bend his head sideways with his arms and gloves up in the air like he was complaining to the Heavens. I think he should be bold and confident enough to direct them, shout at them and call for a back pass when when they seem to be struggling to find the right man to pass to. |
forgiveness:Unfortunately he is your no 1 goalkeeper. You either deal with that or you can switch off your TV when you see him in goal. |
forgiveness:You are neither Rohr nor a member of the technical crew of the team. You do not know what is going on in the camp. All what you know about them are stuffs you read or see online. You are not the one to say that he is not ready to face the so called best strikers in the world. Lots of people here are just online and keyboard technical managers: coming up with different formations, tactics that they know nothing about to sound knowledgeable about the game. You know nothing about the team. Leave that decision to those who manage the team. |
forgiveness:He is a good goalkeeper. You can see commitment and humility to learn in him. I think a good and confident defence would motivate him to give his best. He has managed to save lots of shots that would easily have been goals, he has nullified threats by the way he picks aerial balls calmly and distribute to his players. Outfield players should show similar commitment. If he has a solid cover, he might be one of the best young talents in Russia. A bad and porous midfield will expose his cover and lead to the type of onslaughts Nigeria experienced against England in that first half. In that sort of situations, goalkeepers would normally save unbelievable shots, parry balls sailing into the top angle of the post but would commit silly and school boys errors eventually. Give that boy good cover and watch him do wonders. Btw, that freekick save against England that resulted in the corner that gave the three lions their first goal would not have been saved by Akpeyi or Ezewa. |
safarigirl:You showed your brown teeth a bit too early and no Ghana is not a second half team like Nigeria. It is not over until the whistle goes at the end of 90 mins. I am sure the whole of Sub sahara Africa would like to see that spirit when the Eagles file out against Croatia. We all want to see Nigeria not draw but beat Modric on the 16th June. Mikel and co should silence Modric, Rakitic, Perisic and co. Anything short of victory is a loss for Nigeria. Lessons learnt from Poland, Serbia and Czech matches should guide them to victory. They should not wait for the lateral crosses to start flying in before they regroup and counter. Your goal keeper is good but sure to see teams hitting ferocious shots waiting for him to spill it for sweet rebounds because your defence sometimes go to sleep and is very slow to react. Uzoho spilt a shot against England but was lucky Ashley young did not react quick enough. The Czech used that to score against you. You might see that again in Russia. He will be tested and the enemies would be expecting to exploit that to score you. They would expect you to have a bad first half then neutralize your threats in the 2nd half. They will know you,d string good passes together but have not cracked that penetration code. Ighalo is too unsettled to do that. Bad positioning is his worst attribute. He reads his line wrongly or he might not even be aware of that and your midfield players do not read him well to pass when he makes the runs. I have a feeling the tall Simi might be the key but can they use his attributes and talent well? |
JoebieII:What was the result of last night's match between Iceland and Ghana? You lot need to learn but your arrogance won't let you. Your downfall. If you on the high, make it count. Ghana was prior to Brazil 2014. In 2011, Ghana was at Wembley, the result was 1-1 at the end of 90 mins. Asamoah Gyan scored to deny them victory. On the 6th of june, i believe the whole of Africans wanted to see Nigeria beat them or at least get a draw but Nigeria came up short. Like Ghana prior to Brazil 2014, Nigeria did well qualifying out of a tight group, not even Shehu's error could deny them a place in Russia but do you believe that this team would fly high in Russia? Are you convinced with their plays so far? mind you, this is supposedly the best prepared Eagles team since 1994. No issues of money, quality friendly matches, motivation from either the government or NFF. You should focus on the Nigeria doing well in Russia than wasting your energy on Iceland vs Ghana result. Ghana does not have Nigeria's money but when it comes to grit and no nonsense attitude towards opponents, you can rate them high and bank on them to deliver. It was that no nonsense attitude that cost Nigeria the match with Athletico Madrid in Nigeria. Thomas Partey bossed the midfield and made Nigerian boys look like kids. None could match his physical and mental strength. At 0-2 down, people like you are having orgasm but your sort of attitude is their strength. They make you eat your words. Ghana does not give up. |
Iceland 2-0 Ghana |
Chimamanda is a fool. |
bouncin04: ![]() You deserve 1000 bottles of Kasapreko dry gin. |
Match suspended due to heavy rain. |
JoebieII:If at the end of 90mins, Nigeria equalizes and wins by 3-1 0r 3-2, you,ll turn around and say that you knew the Eagles will beat the Czech. True or False? |
What a Missssssss By Silly Czech. Nigeria what is happening ![]() |
Czech 1-0 Nigeria |

Bro, you just might have reduced your life span by 5 years.
