JohnBullMySon: If there's one thing I know about the American people, it is the strength they have to carry out activism and voice their beliefs and concerns. See the way they coordinated their protest, with everyone involved. If NBBF is not careful with how they handle this, the guys might join in solidarity. If they like they should be stubborn and invite other players, no one cares. As long as they cannot deny what the girls said, they are at fault, whatever they are saying.
Many guys in NBBF and NFF are clueless, seriously. They came in there because of connections or bribery. Imagine Pinnick telling players that they don't need a coach, that they have slept in a 5 star hotel and eaten a five star meal, so NFF has tried for them, as if he's talking to villagers. That guy is so dumb. I swear I don't know who appointed those hoodlums as our sports administrators. I even thought NBBF is better than NFF they are all the same |

JohnBullMySon: I used to think NBBF was way better than NFF. Yet I just heard now that D'tigress have gone on strike because they have not been paid for a long time and have not trained in Nigeria since 2019. They got balls sha. Not the Super Falcons that abandoned their captain on the battle. Nigeria is so freaking mismanaged. Update: NBBF actually called D'tigeres sponsored thugs I am very sure that the money donated to dtigers have been embezzled

Politics › Re: Buhari Says Protest Must Be Peaceful- Youth Minister by Klammer01(op): 4:01pm On Oct 12, 2021 |
Lies Klammer01: The Minister of Youths and Social Development, Sunday Dare, on Monday met with the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), over the ongoing protests against the scrapped Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police Force.
The minister told State House correspondents after the meeting held inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja that the President told him that he had nothing against youths protesting.
He said Buhari however advised the youth to ensure that their protests are peaceful.
The minister added that the President expressed concerns about some instances in which the protests have turned violent.
He said, “First, Mr President said as far as he was concerned, it is important to allow the younger generation to exercise the freedom to protest, but he did say that such protests must be in a peaceful manner.
“Of course, he is worried about some of the exceptions to the peaceful nature of the protests.
“For him, it is important that these protests are properly guided. He said part of the demands that were made was to ensure those protesting are protected and any police officer that has in one way or the other attacked any protester be brought to book.
“So, Mr President thinks it is a fundamental human right, so long as the protest is peaceful and focused. He said he has been responsive to demands put forward by the protesters. “He believes the youth to a very large extent are law-abiding, they are young people with dreams and expectations of the government and the society and that they have a right to demand for certain things, which is why he has a very attentive ear to their demands.”
Dare added that conversations with Nigerian youths have since started because they were able to get their demands across to the government.
He added, “The President spoke directly on Monday, condemning the killings, particularly the extra-judicial killings that have occurred before, police brutality and approving investigation and to bring the guilty to book. That is one level of conversation.
“Last week, we had a virtual town-hall meeting in which we had the police PRO and myself engaging with over 145 youths online, where they asked numerous questions.
“We provided updates and the police was able to give further details on how the reforms were proceeding and will proceed, in some cases clear timelines on how the reforms will take place.
The demands are already in the public and the government is already addressing those demands. That in itself is a demand and a conversation.”
Dare appealed to the protesting youths to give the government time to address their concerns.
He said care must be taken especially in the face of infiltration by miscreants trying to hijack these protests and give the entire protest a bad image.
The minister added, “Some of these demands will take time there are processes that must take place Some of the demands need administrative responses; some of them need legislation; some of them need executive orders where necessary.
All of these will take time. We live in a constitutional democracy, these processes cannot be usurped or bypassed, they must take time.
“But I think that the youth of this country have been heard, the agenda is clear and the government has taken note, government has gone to work.” |

caprikon: Africa presently with 5 slots hasn't produced a semi finalist since Egypt made a debut in 1934.
Only in 2014 did two African sides go past the first round.
In comparison, virtually all the south American teams and 70% of the Asian teams advance past the group phase with 5 and 3 representatives respectively.
The debate has been there, ..but going by the performance of African teams, there should actually be a reduction in the number of slots for the continent...the more reason why the big teams (CIV,NGA,SEN,ALG,CAM,MOR etc) need to up their game at the world stage. Supported |
