Also 0.5tone for 10mm would be nice if it can just go for 1tone

Reinforcement makes a duplex different from a bungalow...

What inflated the quote was the 8mm rods...don't know his reasons for that.
Negotiating the
16mm 2.5tones to 2tones
12mm already 2 tones
10mm 2tones to 1tons.
Would have been a good one for me ooo
Iron bender labour to me was cool....Some even charge as high as 200k
But just wanted to see if d guy could beat it down to 120k

Bro I don't know anybody who even given you a quote based on what you posted here. Can you try post the structural plan having its dimensions (Lenght and with,etc,etc,etc).
Be kind to also put up the estimate given to you as a check list.

Not sure most builders will be generous enough to answer this your question, why not tell us the qty your builder quoted then you will get epic responses from experience of builders and other house members

A lintel is an element used to span over openings like doors and windoows with the main fucntion of carrying the blockwork above that opening.
Lintels are of different forms, we have
-Timber lintel
-I section lintel
-Reinforced concrete beam
For this project and for most buildings in Nigeria( except timber buildings) , a Reinforced concrete beam is the most suitable choise.
Since its a reinfroced concrete beam, Every criteria governing design and construction of reinforced concrete elements given by BS8110 must be satisfied.
As you must have observed, We chained the lintel round the building.
We did so for two main reasons.
- To give the building extra structural rigidity

I don't understand this response boss, thought those are the ones you paid N500/bag, or was your answer to his question "Yes", then a further information on possible increase in price? I guess someone was doing the " levelling", was he part of this money?
