It was a sad moment in Osogbo on Sunday as a young man named Muideen, a student of navy school, has been accidentally shot dead by a police officer near AUD middle school, Oke Baale, Osogbo.

The report gathered revealled that some group of boys simply identified as Adamo boys were playing on AUD Middle School’s pitch when the squad of police officers from Oja Oba divisional police headquarters arrived at the scene to make arrest. The boys reportedly ran in order to resist arrest which led to the accidental shot by a police man.

“They (the boys) have been having fracas for the past few days. The cause of the fracas due to the fight between Adamo boys and Akaje boys (both of whom were thugs) over a girl which caused Akaje boys to trace the boys of the fellow rival thugs in order to get their own pound of flesh, that was when police arrived at the scene and the boy was shot”.

I never knew i will have to go to hospital this evening. I i was heading home after the days work, I wasn’t expecting anything less of fight from Tina. One of the Npower spokes person, Mr Afolabi Imoukhuede, has spoken on update on Npower program that is still ongoing assuring all the new applicants that the selection process will be as fair and transparent as it has always been. Mr Afolabi Imoukhuede who made this known through facebook livechat ask those who have applied to the current Npower program and has successfully write their assessment test to relax and go about their normal routine as there will be nothing hidden in the selection process.

Now that you are the new president of Democracy Contenders, what area will you focus on most?

The focus of the group under my leadership will be on the aggressive sensitization of electorate in Osun state to be actively involved in the state coming electoral process, educating them about their rights and how they can make sure that their votes count. More importantly, we are almost at the conclusive stage of the plan to organize the first largest state youth political summit, with other like-minded groups where a lot of issues of national interest will be discuss and we will try to seek a way forward. The summit has nothing to do with any political party. It will be the gathering of youths who are dedicated to finding solution to the long standing problem of democracy in our state and make sure the problem does not re-occur.

It will be recalled that the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo made a it known during his visit to the Npower Response Center at the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) that the Npower initiate owe no beneficiary of the programme as all the backlog of salaries has been paid.

"There is no such thing as backlog. If BVN is certified and everything is checked, then you are paid...if there is a problem with any of your record or the BVN you gave does not match, you can not be paid. The moment your record is cleared, you will get your pay."

The volunteers of the programe who have been working tirelessly and have not receive a penny as a compensation for their hard work beg the vice president and the management of the Npower to please review the speech and make sure the backlog of salaries for the actively engaged unpaid volunteer are promptly paid.

One of the Npower volunteer who speak to Our correspondent in Osogbo, Miss Aderonke Adejumo, express her disappointment over the speech of made by the Vice President.

"I'm was posted to a very far school, yet i do go there everyday and work tirelessly. The only thing that baffles me is why might salary has not been paid even until now. Not even a month salary! Now the you can imagine my disappointment when i read the speech credited to the president that there is no backlog to be paid any longer. Somebody like myself have done everything to rectify my details with Bank and i have reach out to Npower officials through their portal to correct the same. Its unfortunate that nothing has been done." She lamented.

"I was hopeful before when the backlogs are been paid but i became skeptical when the payment abruptly stopped since May ". She said.

Most of the volunteers who pleaded anonymity while speaking to our correspondence said they believed the people handling the scheme are not just being sincere.

The famous Nollywood star and Yoruba Actress Mercy Aigbe has debunked the rumour that is spreading around the town over her marital challenge that she has resolved the matter outside court and settle with her husband.

Mercy Aigbe, who has since moved out of her husband residence in Omole, Ikeja Lagos, and has been staying oversea for proper medical care after the fall-out between her and her husband, Lanre Gentry, condemned any act of domestic violence especially the one which involved husband and wife beating each other. She made this known through her instagram handle where she share the video of her battered face and call for advocacy against domestic violence. “Violence is not an option” she said.

This is the first time it is been reported that the couple have settled their differences after their fall-out about four month ago.

The popular female artist, who is currently 38 years old and a mother of two denied the story being circulated by some online media platform that she has forgiven her husband saying only court will decide on that matter as the case is still in court.

“The news spreading around that we have resolved our issue outside court is a blatant lie. We are still in court”, she explained.

It will be recalled that the news filtered the air four months ago about the popular thespian fall-out with her husband over the trust issue, allegation of extral-marital affairs and lack of respect for the in-laws. It was reported that the husband, Lanre Gentry, a 55 years old Lagos hotelier had beaten the star Yoruba actress into stupour causing her to sustain several injuries and caused her internal bleeding.

Mercy Aigbe who approached Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation to solicit the intervention of the Ministry in the domestic violence she was suffering in her marriage revealed several secrets which she had kept all through her seven years of marriage to Lanre Gentry.

In another development, the estranged husband of the actress, Lanre Gentry, has alleged that all the fuss being made by his wife is just to make money. This was revealed through the embattled hotelier instagram page not long after he apologized openly to his wife over their fracas.

Infertility simply means inability to conceive a young one or inability to produce children. Infertility is a position and not necessarily a disease. It is a position that is so heart rending and discomforting for either a man or a woman especially in Africa.

Africa is a world where extreme importance in placed on childbearing. The importance attached to childbearing by Africans is generational. That is why most African proverbs like “Olomo lo laye”, Eni omo sin lobimo”, are centered on fertility.

This state of thing in the marital life of couples has caused chaos and disturbance in the mind of those going through barrenness. Even the state of infertility has caused misunderstanding and break marriage of many. Before I proceed on the discussion on the cure of infertility in a natural way, let me explain the various types of infertility.

Meaning Infertility

Men’s Infertility: This is a situation whereby a man fails to impregnate a lady after several attempt by the couple.

Women’s Infertility: This is a situation whereby a woman fails to conceive or become pregnant after several attempt by the couple.

Categories of Infertility

There are various categories of infertility, but for the purpose of this article, I will only explain two categories namely

First Degree Barrenness: This simply means the situation whereby a woman has never for once conceive or become pregnant in her life or a situation where a man has never for once in his life impregnate a woman.
Second Degree Barrenness: This means a situation whereby a woman has been pregnant at a certain time in her life but later became unable to conceive a child due to some reasons or a situation where a man has been able to impregnate women at a certain point in his life but later become unsterile.

Causes of infertility

Several reasons can cause the various categories of infertility that we discussed above but since the scope of this article is to discuss the solution and no the problem, I will only discuss there of such causes.

Un-wellness of one of the couple: There could be a situation whereby either of the couple is having health challenge. For example:
A lady might have a health challenge as a result of threatened abortion or real abortion which was not properly attended to or a lady may fail to conceive totally as a result of lack of some fertility hormones and so on.
A man may have low sperm count or weak erection and so on which may be the reason for inability of the man to impregnate a woman
Un-wellness of one of the couple: This is a situation where by both man and woman need serious medical attention as both may have health challenges that may prevent them from having child. For example, a woman might have fibroid, ovarian cyst or untreated sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) while a man may have low sperm count or watery sperm, then the couple will definitely be unable to conceive except they have serious medical care.

Panic grip the inhabitants of Osogbo over the incessant kidnapping and ritual killings that is now on the rise in the ancient town as body of the kidnapped four years old boy who was reported missing 16th July, has been found dead yesterday at the back of his parent house with his hair and body part scrapped in a ritual manner.

A group of concerned citizens, most of who are women, stormed the palace of Ataoja of Osogbo yesterday in order to bring to the attention of the monarch the kidnapping of the 4years old boy and seek the mercy of the monarch intervene in the matter of the missing child and help them in the securing of the release of the boy in whole and alive. According to the women they are thronging the palace to prevent the killings of the innocent ones by the ritualists.

According to one of the women who thronged the palace on solidarity support for the release of the boy alive who spoke in anonymity, the boy was kidnapped while asleep in the front porch of his house at Oke Ayepe area in Osogbo.

“He was sleeping outside alone because his mother left him with his senior ones while going out. It was at the time his brother momentarily left him to go inside for whatever reason that the boy was kidnapped. We are here to seek the help of Kabiyesi to please help us intervene in this matter so we can find him alive”. She lamented.

The case has however take a new turn as the boy’s body has been allegedly reported to have been found at his parent’s backyard this morning with his hair scraped as well as his manhood. The case is said to have since been reported to the police and still under investigation to bring the perpetrators to book. Our efforts to speak with the parents of the boy were in vain as we are unable to get through to them.

Unfruitfulness has often been dreaded like a plague. Our society especially in Africa made it a standard of a successful marriage and when couples are still in this situation, people see them as unsuccessful couples. Now the major problem is the waiting period for the couple experiencing this challenge for the often experience a kind of mockery from their neighbors and even in social gathering, they feel too shy to talk because of fear of being stigmatized as a barren woman or impotent man.

So, how do we tackle this menace? A woman has of a strong faith and passion for those passing through unfruitfulness stage in their marriage, Mrs Shade Bright Osakue, has a difference approach to this. She said whatever the cause of unfruitfulness in a couple lives, the absolute solution is in God not in medical field or otherwise. She opined that if anyone passing through this challenge can change their thinking, then they can be rest assure that God will definitely give them what they seek for.

“The reason why the challenges of unfruitfulness seem so complicated among us believers is because of our reasoning ability as human being. Although, this reasoning ability is what makes us better than animals but at the same time, it is our undoing.

This sense of reasoning is making us rely so much on our natural ability rather than God’s capability. The case of barrenness in animals is very rare when compare to human. The animals do not have the thinking ability to even worry about fertility yet Lord keeps blessing them with offspring. The animals have no prenatal or ante-natal education and yet they bear healthy children. They do not have gynecological problem like human in their own kingdom and if they do, the scientists have been too quiet about it.

The inability to think by these animals makes them enjoy the grace of the supreme creator, God, concerning fruitfulness. This is because they depend totally on Lord for his provision. No wonder the scripture says:

“Therefore I say unto you, take no thought of your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall put on. Is not life more than meat and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air, for they sow not, neither do they reap nor gather in the barns, yet your father feedeth them. Are ye not better than they? Matt. 6:24-25(KJV)

Are you not better than they? That is the question and of course the answer is YES. If yes, what are you now worrying about? The only potent solution to every challenge in life, unfruitfulness inclusive is casting all burdens on the shoulder of the Almighty God and stop worrying about them. Thinking and worrying about them. Thinking and worrying cannot solve the problem. The mother of three kids who were murdered by the ritualist last week has been reported dead as a result of the shock she experienced over the news of the demise of her kids. The incident which happened at Oke-Onitea Area in Osogbo has put the whole community in a sad mood.

It will be recalled that the news that filtered the air in Osogbo on Monday 17th of July was of the three primary school pupils who were sold to the ritualist for the sum of one hundred and fifty thousand naira each by a commercial motorcyclist who took the kids from their home at Oke Onitea area of Osogbo.

The commercial motorcyclist who has been taking the three kids to school for a while stop in the front of the kids house to take them to school as usual but this time around he does not only comeback without the kids but have sold them for four hundred and fifty thousand naira to the ritualist.
