Nigeria has emerged as third best in Africa and 28th globally in the EF English Proficiency Index ranking.

The Nation learnt the ranking was for countries classified as non-native English speaking.

Guinness World Records on Tuesday announced Hilda Baci the new record holder for the longest cooking by an individual.

The GWR in a statement on its website, said, “Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.”

A Nigerian man from Ekiti state is set to attempt to break the world record for the longest hours spent watching films.

The aspiring record breaker, Adebiyi Isreal indicates that he has applied to the Guinness World Records, notifying the body of his plan.

Adebiyi posted a screenshot of an email he said he got from the Guinness World Records, notifying him of the approval of his application.

The immediate past Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, has called on the Federal Government to urgently address the brain drain among doctors in Nigeria or face the consequences in a couple of years.

The former governor, who expressed worry over the rate at which doctors are leaving the country for foreign countries in search of greener pastures, said the development calls for urgent attention from the government.

According to him, if doctors emigrating from the country in droves is not addressed, in less than a decade Nigeria may only have native doctors to turn to for treatment.

Drama ensued at a restaurant after a Nigerian lady ordered food which cost N12,000 while on a date with a guy.

The man who took her out refused to pay the bill and it led to an argument between the two of them as he stormed out of the establishment and tried to leave her behind.

A priest under the Archdiocese of Benin City, Rev. Fr. Charles Onomhoale Igechi, has been shot dead by gunmen in Edo state.

It was gathered that the priest was killed on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, along the Agbor Road, Bypass area in Ikhueniro axis of Benin, while on his way to his place of assignment.

The late priest was ordained on the 13th of August 2022 and was until his death, the Vice Principal of St. Michael College, Ikhueniro.

The opposition Labour Party, (LP), Friday received former Edo state Peoples Democratic Party’s, PDP, Governorship Aspirant, Barrister Ken Imansuangbon into its fold amidst jubilation.

Imansuangbon had on Tuesday in a letter addressed to the Edo state chairman of the party and copied his ward, Esan South East Local Government Area chairman of the party respectively, resigned his membership of the PDP.

The Edo politician in company of his wife, Mrs Kate Imansuangbon and large supporters, stormed the national secretariat of the Labour Party in Abuja where he was received by the national leadership of the party.
