Around 5am on the 16th January, 2019 at approximately 3km to Odudua university Ife coming from Ife, we had an encounter with highway rubbers, they are 8 in number, all at mid-twenty.. Four held pistol guns while the rest held clubs. They disguised as soldiers and setup checkpoint so that drivers will slowdown upon seeing that. They stopped our car and told the driver to drive into the bush, they collected our phones and told everybody to lie down for one by one pocket-searching, after collecting everything in our pockets (if they don't find valuable things on you they will beat or threatening to kill you) they went into the bus search to all our luggage. After dispossessing us of our valuables the told us to enter the bus and continue our journey. From what I gathered from the driver and some of the passengers the area is a regular area for that occurrences, and I noticed that some vehicles packed at filling stations when they are close to that area. From Abuja to Akure you will see many checkpoints at like 4km interval but from Akure to Ibadan hardly will you see one. Again those rubbers are Yoruba probably living in the neighboring communities. Lastly, my advice from that experience is that if you can keep your valuables in places they can find like inside the chassis of the vehicle the are safe., because some people were able to retain there phones. But if you can't hide your phone quickly remove your sim card and drop it inside the car.

I was invited to CGC interview for a graduate training position in Abuja. Please I want to ask those that have ideas about their salary, condition of working and job security to please share their Experiences. Please share the information to know if I will attend the interview or not cos I stay in Ibadan

First of all, no matter your level of education, your age or your status in the company, Chinese man is your boss and more significant than you, even if the Chinese man is an ex-convict with marks of handcuffs clearly showing on his wrist like a hand-band. You must not challenge or report them no matter what they do, even though he stone (which is usual habit), abuse your generation or your country. If you try to report to their superior, is either you are sack and forfeit your work payment or tell you to beg him so that you can be paid for your work.
Again, you must resume work 7: am and close by 7: pm, sometimes 9: pm depend on their discretion. Cab crane are being used to convey workers to their respective site, the crane which you will clearly see warning written – do not stand under the boom of crane. The crane will be over with Nigerians, stacked together like log of woods transporting them for like 12km on a dusty and bumpy road. The front seat will be occupied by the Chinese artisans while the open-back is one being occupied by Nigerians including the graduate engineers. Even if there is space at front seat they won’t allow you to sit with them
Looking at the working hour one will expect substantial amounts as remuneration. The hourly payments go thus;
Labourers -- N100 per hour
Drivers -- N110 per hour
Engineers -- N150 per hour
If you do calculation very well it will amount to 35000, 39000, and 50000 for labourers, drivers, and engineers respectively, and that is after working for 11 hours per day for 30 days save Sunday that we close by 4: pm. You must be not be absent for 3 day in a row even though you are critically sick. If at the end of the month you are paid the amount that doesn’t conform with your working hours, you dare not complain ,if you do is either you are sack or your master (as we call them) tell you ‘MAALAKAPI’ (if you try tell him the same, he can go any length to hurt you. Which mean it is a very bad curse). If workers die while on site, the maximum their family can get is N30,000.
With all these maltreatment, it comes to your mind their supposed to be union or government agencies that we should report all these atrocities to. The union is a toothless bulldog, that even the union chairman had once been slapped severally and sacked by the Chinese boss simply because we sometime staged a peaceful protest for the maltreatment we are facing.
Government agencies only drive by in exotics car once in a while without stopping for once to ask us the way we are being treated or the working conditions. If you see the safely boot is like a rubber tennis, no any allowance. The workers to them is like worthless animals that depend on them for survival. There is common saying that if something is not working in Nigeria someone is reaping from it. Come and verify things by yourself at Lapade junction Ologuneru,Ibadan if you think am lying.

the last time i checked cross was the on our hospitals which is cristain symbol,saturday and sunday are our holiday which are cristain day of worship and cristainity was brought to nigeria by english men and north have been practising islam and writing in Arabic b4 they came.i think alot of things need to be changed

i av seen alot of ppl saying gej till 2019 just because he said pple should calm down for the inec. Most dont know what a head is. No matter how bad u are as a leader u will never show d bad side of u to yor followers. What he said is what anytin wud have said. That doesnt make him a good leader. In think we are in era where what ppl say doesnt count as what they do

i think u need little information.the reason they are called jew is because they disbelieve in the gospel of jesus. Most of them still consider jesus as the product of illicit sexual act. But u cristain prefer supporting them to supporting muslims who believe jesus to b holy and a messager of God. The only difference we have is that we dont consider him to b God or son of God. I just left Ido LGA now. It is the same story, they said INEC sent training allowance for the number of plling booth in Ido, so not all student and excorpers will be paid but only those that will be shortlisted soon. Any update from Ido local govt?
