President Omar Al-Bashir, the Sudanese president has been planning to step down, according to what the Al-Arabiya TV station broadcasted due to the protest that has been flooding the country, according to the report received by NIGERIA NEWS.

The Protesters started on 11th April 2019 and stood in front of the military headquarters in Khartoum. More than 45 people have been killed and 2600 people arrested during the protests as the security agency fired tear gas in order to chase people away from the military headquarters where Al-Bashir is under house arrest

Al-Bashir assumed the presidential post in a 1989 coup. The people of the country can’t continue to bear the extreme poverty that has been ravaging the nation but he insisted not to leave the power until 2020 when an election could serve as a means he could be unseated.

Sudan, being the rs Africa third largest country has been ruled by Al-Bashir for complete 30 years in which he was still stubborn not to step down and which has brought about an uprising protest. The National Bureau of Statistics, NBS revealed on their portal that the Nigeria concurrent foreign debt was estimated to be 25.27 billion US dollars and N16.63trn total domestic debt.



The report further report that among 36 states in Nigeria, Lagos State has the highest foreign debt followed by the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and states like Edo, Kaduna, and Cross River.



Below are the percentage of foreign debt owed by each state:

FCT 5.64 percentage, Edo 1.09 percentage, Kaduna 0.90 percentage, and Cross River 0.75 percentage.

Lagos State has 3.19 percentage of the total domestic debt while Yobe State has 0.17 percentage of the total domestic debt stock and which has been the least.

Hon. Charles Ezeani who happened to be the mastermind in passing the bill stated in a nutshell that:

“Burial/funeral control bill is aimed at cutting down the cost of burial activities in the state.”

“no person shall deposit any corpse in the mortuary or any place beyond two months from the date of the death, while burial ceremonies in the state shall be for one day.”

“no person shall subject any relation of the deceased person to a mourning period of more than one week from the date of the burial ceremony.

“It further stipulates that during burial and funeral ceremonial activities, the family of the deceased shall provide food for their kindred, relatives and other sympathizers at their own discretion.”

Mr Ezeani said a committee would be set up to monitor people adherence to the law.

He finally stated that the bill passed also prohibit blocking off the streets or road during the burial ceremony, lavish celebration.
