Sudan Protest: Omar Al-bashir To Be Unseated After Ruling For 30 Years by koljprof(m): 1:15pm On Apr 11, 2019
President Omar Al-Bashir, the Sudanese president has been planning to step down, according to what the Al-Arabiya TV station broadcasted due to the protest that has been flooding the country, according to the report received by NIGERIA NEWS.

The Protesters started on 11th April 2019 and stood in front of the military headquarters in Khartoum. More than 45 people have been killed and 2600 people arrested during the protests as the security agency fired tear gas in order to chase people away from the military headquarters where Al-Bashir is under house arrest

Al-Bashir assumed the presidential post in a 1989 coup. The people of the country can’t continue to bear the extreme poverty that has been ravaging the nation but he insisted not to leave the power until 2020 when an election could serve as a means he could be unseated.

Sudan, being the rs Africa third largest country has been ruled by Al-Bashir for complete 30 years in which he was still stubborn not to step down and which has brought about an uprising protest. The Sudanese Professionals Association call for the demonstration to unseat the current leader as to celebrate the 1985 insurgency that has led to the President Gafaar Nimeiry being overthrown. The gunfire started on Thursday at military headquarters.

They initially went through a strike led by Sudanese Professionals Association, in March 2019 in order to weaken Al-Bashir and expected him to resign, yet he still insists on being unseated through an election in 2020. However people can’t bear it anymore which has led to the outcry across the nation.
