[b]Just when we were getting prepped to crown Wizkid as Africa’s most successful Indie king, fresh reports reveal the StarBoy may just have bagged an international deal of his own. According to Pulse.ng, Wiz may be looking at a better deal than Davido’s—who notably boasted that his distribution deal with SonyATV was the first of its kind offered to any African.

“There’s something big coming up for Wizkid” A source revealed to Pulse.ng “It happened while he was in America. The deal will be the biggest ever signed by an African, and signifies progress for the music business on the continent.” Though the source failed to confirm Sony’s involvement in the deal, several media sources have hinted the label’s involvement with Wiz. This is against the backdrop of industry speculations that Universal Music also showed interest in Wizkid’s music. Pulse.ng’s source ,however, added that Wizkid would be unveiled by his new management in a grand style in the coming months if the deal comes to fruition.

While some of this comes as fresh news, we can’t say it was unexpected.
