RomanceRe: Something Fishy About Ms Kay by Kontrol97(m): 7:14pm On May 14
Finally I hope you are fully back now boss?
OT2024:
What Funmi was wearing looked so much like the other one; but then, bras look alike, don't they? Without minding that I was there, Funmi unhooked the bra and unclothed her breasts. I looked away. It would be a tough task but I must pass the litmus test. She finally put on the t-shirt and came back to sit on the sofa.

My mind went to Damilola. I was sure she did not mean it when she said it was over between us. I was sure she would be very jealous if she should come inside the room right now. But, what if she meant what she had said? What if we would never be intimate again? That would she would never be my love again. I sighed. Was it not fortuitous that Funmi was here?

She had come back after realizing that she had chased a wild goose. She had asked for forgiveness and had offered herself. Should I miss this opportunity? Was a bird in hand not worth two in the bush? I shuddered at these thoughts. Calm down, I told myself. Even if Damilola decided not to come back to my life, having intimate relationship with Funmi must be a bygone matter, and I must let bygone be bygone. My mind veered to Ms. Kay.

Despite her snobbishness, she appeared ... I could not finish the description. All I could say was that there was something special about her. I soon felt sleepy and dozed off. Many minutes later, I felt the hand of Funmi waking me up. "Time to go to bed," she said. "Yeah. Hmm...you can sleep on the bed while I sleep on this."

She looked alarm. "What! No way. Why would you want to discomfort yourself? The bed is more than large enough to contain the two of us."

I sighed and stood up. "Alright."

I went to the toilet to ease myself. By the time I was back, Funmi had switched off the t.v and was lying on the bed. I stripped myself down to the boxers and joined her on the bed. I tried to have a respectable distance from her but she gave me a close-up. I closed my eyes and tried to sleep. I could feel Funmi's hand on my chest.

"I miss you," she cooed.

I didn't say a word. Her hand gently rubbed on my chest.

"Are you still angry with me?" she asked.

"No. I told you to err is human."

Her hand rubbed more on my chest, down to my tummy, and moved to my chest again. "Why are you not responding?" she asked again. I could have chuckled.

"Responding to what?"

Instead of verbal response, she held my right, slipped it under the t-shirt and moved it on her left breast.

"I want you to feel this. Feel my love for you. Take it, take me. I'm all yours."

In the semi-darkness of the room, I shook my head.

"If you remember, I told you that we would be friends only. Sorry, I won't accept what you ask me to take."

I slipped my hand away from her breast and from inside the t-shirt.

"It's like you can not clearly see what I'm offering you."

She got up from the bed and switched on the full light. Then, she removed the t-shirt. I could see that she had earlier removed the tight. Now, she stood totally nude before my eyes.

"Can't you see this? Can't you see what you've been missing? Hello, Dave. Funmi, your babe, is back."

The sleep had disappeared from me. I sat up on the bed and stared at her. The nude body before me was pretty and attractive. The figure was curvy, no doubt.

"We're just friends, Funmi. We're no longer lovers. Thank you, but let's just keep the relationship at friendship level, okay? Now, please wear the cloth and come back to bed."

She opened her mouth in shock, unable to say a word. Slowly, she picked up the t-shirt and wore it. Her shock turned to muted anger. She climbed back to the bed, moved far away from me and even turned her back to me. I smiled knowingly and thanked God that I had passed the litmus test.

Travel19 Wedding Guests D!e As Vehicle Plunges Into River After Bridge Collapsed by Kontrol97(op): 7:46pm On Sep 14, 2025
At least 19 persons lost their lives after a vehicle conveying a bride and her family members collapsed into a river following the collapse of the dilapidated Gwalli bridge at Fass community in Gummi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The tragic incident occurred on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at about 4:45 pm when the vehicle carrying the wedding guests plunged from the weakened bridge into the water beneath, k!lling men, women and children.

The victims are said to be family members of late Sheikh Dauda Fass, a former member of the State House of Assembly.
A resident, Babangida Halifa Ibrahim Fass, who lost relatives in the accident, said the tragedy struck while his newlywed sister was being taken to her husband’s home in Jega community.
The car fell from the bridge into the water. As they were brought out, we found 19 of them d3ad, including men, women and children,” he said.

The bridge which links several towns and villages in the area, had been in a state of disrepair for years.
The bridge was reported to have been rehabilitated during the administration of former Governor Abdulazeez Yari. However, it was eroded by heavy rainfall seven years ago, leaving the community to fend for themselves.

Earlier this year, residents of Gwalli, Yar Gusau and Fass villages through communal effort, carried out sand-filling to patch the damaged section, but the structure eventually gave way, resulting in the devastating incident.Community leaders have described the tragedy as “avoidable” and called on the Federal Government and the Zamfara State Government to urgently intervene.

They appealed for immediate relief materials to support the bereaved family and long-term action to reconstruct the collapsed bridge, which remains a vital lifeline for trade, transportation, and social connections in the region.

Foreign AffairsNorth Korea Executing People For Watching Foreign Films, TV — UN Report by Kontrol97(op): 9:36pm On Sep 12, 2025
The North Korean government is increasingly imposing death penalty, including for people caught watching and sharing foreign films and TV dramas, according to a major UN report.
According to the BBC, the report revealed that the dictatorship, which remains largely cut off from the world, is also forcing more citizens into labour while further restricting freedoms.

The UN Human Rights Office found that over the past decade, the North Korean state had tightened control over “all aspects of citizens’ lives”. It concluded: “No other population is under such restrictions in today’s world,” adding that surveillance had become “more pervasive”, aided by advances in technology.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, warned that if the situation continued, North Koreans “will be subjected to more of the suffering, brutal repression and fear that they have endured for so long”. Based on more than 300 interviews with people who escaped from North Korea in the past 10 years, the report revealed that the death penalty is being used more frequently.
Since 2015, at least six new laws have been introduced allowing capital punishment, including for watching and sharing foreign media content.

Escapees told UN researchers that since 2020, more executions had taken place for distributing foreign content, with firing squads carrying out public killings to instill fear.

Kang Gyuri, who escaped in 2023, told the BBC that three of her friends were executed for possessing South Korean content. She recalled attending the trial of a 23-year-old friend who was sentenced to death. “He was tried along with drug criminals. These crimes are treated the same now,” she said.
When Kim Jong Un came to power in 2011, many North Koreans had hoped life would improve. But the report said living conditions and human rights had “degraded” after Kim abandoned diplomacy with the West in 2019 and focused on expanding his nuclear weapons programme.
Almost all escapees said they lacked food, with three meals a day described as a “luxury”. During the Covid pandemic, many reported severe shortages and deaths from hunger.
At the same time, the government cracked down on informal marketplaces and tightened border controls, ordering troops to shoot those attempting to flee.

“In the early days of Kim Jong Un, we had some hope, but that hope did not last long,” one woman, who escaped in 2018 at age 17, testified.
“The government gradually blocked people from making a living independently, and the very act of living became a daily torment.”

The UN report said the government had exercised “near total control over people, leaving them unable to make their own decisions” over the past 10 years. It also highlighted growing use of forced labour, with people from poor families recruited into “shock brigades” for dangerous tasks such as mining and construction. Orphans and street children have also been pressed into such work, according to the findings.
CrimeAnambra Man Catches His Civil Servant Friend Defiling His 5-year-old Daughter by Kontrol97(op): 7:28pm On Sep 11, 2025
An Awka, Anambra State-based man, Joseph Chigbo, has been remanded for allegedly defiling friend’s 5-yr-old girl, who is a daughter of his friend.
The Children, Sexual and Gender-based Violence Offences Court in Awka ordered the remand of the 35-year-old civil servant in a correctional centre for allegedly defiling a 5-year-old girl.

The Magistrate , Mrs U.E. Onochie ordered the remand of Chigbo after his arraignment on one-count charge of defilement brought against him.

She adjourned the case until Dec.8 for hearing.
Earlier, the Prosecutor , Insp. Chinyere Okechukwu told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on July 13, at Ezinifite in Aguata Local Government.

Okeckukwu told the court that the case was reported on July 13 by the father of the 5-year-old girl.
“He stated that he was in his backyard washing breadfruit on the said date when he heard his friend, the defendant, talking with his daughter.
“After a while, he realised he could no longer hear their voices. Concerned, he went to check and discovered that the door to his room was open.
He said he went in and saw his friend naked and holding his penis while his daughter was laying naked on the bed.

However, the presiding magistrate, Muibah Olatunji, ruled against leniency and sentenced him to three years’ imprisonment with hard labour, without the option of a fine.

Reacting to the judgment, Falana described the ruling as both “inhumane and economically wasteful.”

“It is high time Nigeria adopted a humane sentencing policy. How does it make sense for the government to spend taxpayers’ money feeding and housing a convict jailed for stealing food items worth N35,000?” He queried.

The Senior Advocate also noted that in many other jurisdictions, thefts committed as a result of hunger are no longer treated as criminal offences, but addressed through social welfare systems.

He confirmed that his legal team had already filed an appeal challenging both the conviction and the sentence.

More grease to your pen wink
OT2024:
I didn’t waste time. “Were you in my house not too long ago?”

A brief pause.

“What are you saying? Of course I was there in the morning,” she replied flatly.

“No, no, I know about that,” I said quickly, already grimacing. “I mean after that. Did you come back to the house when I wasn’t there? Maybe when I went to the main building? Did you... did you take the bra?”

There was a moment of stunned silence on the other end of the line. Then her voice came back, sharp and loud.

“Bra?!” she shouted. “What nonsense! What nonsense bra are you talking about?!”

I winced, pulling the phone away from my ear briefly.

“Damilola, calm down, please,” I said, struggling to keep my voice level. “I’m talking about the bra you saw earlier in my room this morning. The one you asked about. I told you it wasn’t yours. I left it on the bed, and now it’s gone. I just need to return it to the owner, that’s all. I thought maybe you—”

“Are you high or something?” she cut in again, her tone bordering on disgust now. “How could you even imagine that I would take someone else’s bra?! As if I don’t have my own bras?! What kind of insulting rubbish is that, Dave? SMH!”

The words hit me like cold water.

“I didn’t mean it like that—” I started, but she didn’t let me finish.

The line went dead.

She had cut the call.

I sat there, staring at the screen in disbelief. My heart was still racing. Damilola was angry. No—furious. And I couldn’t really blame her. Maybe I shouldn’t have asked so directly. But what else was I supposed to do? She was the only person, aside from me, with a key to my room. If she didn’t take it... then who the hell did?

I stood up and began pacing in my small room, rubbing my temples. This wasn’t just a small issue anymore—it was becoming something else entirely. My reputation, my relationships, and possibly my peace in this compound all hinged on solving this ridiculous, maddening mystery.

Then—a knock on my door.

Sharp. Measured.

I froze mid-step.

Wiping my forehead quickly with the handkerchief I kept in my pocket, I tried to gather myself. I had no idea what to expect—Ms. Kay, angry because I hadn’t returned with the bra as promised? Damilola, in person now, even angrier than she had been on the phone?

I took a breath and opened the door.

The scent hit me first—a familiar perfume, floral and almost intoxicating. It brought back memories I hadn’t revisited in months. And then came the voice.

“Hello, Dave.”

I blinked.

My mouth fell open.

Standing at my doorstep, dressed in a short olive-green gown and clutching a small leather purse to her chest, was Funmi.

“Funmi?” I echoed, dumbfounded. “What... what are you doing here? How did you even find this place?”

She smiled—softly, enigmatically. The kind of smile she used to wear when she wanted something but wasn’t ready to say what.

“I was in the area,” she said smoothly. “I asked around.”

My head was spinning now. This was too much. A missing bra, an angry girlfriend, and now an old flame—unannounced—on my doorstep?

Funmi looked past me into the room, her eyes scanning with a familiarity that unsettled me.

“I didn’t think your place would be so small,” she said, stepping forward slightly.

I instinctively blocked the doorway.

“Wait, Funmi. This really isn’t a good time.”

“Is it ever?” she replied, with a shrug that made her hair sway gently across her shoulders.

“What do you want?” I asked, my voice firmer now.

She cocked her head, smile fading into something unreadable. “I came to talk,” she said. “That’s all.”

CrimeTupac Murder Suspect Duane ‘keefe D’ Davis Sentenced by Kontrol97(op): 4:44pm On Sep 05, 2025
Duane “Keefe D” Davis, the former gang member arrested in connection with the 1996 shooting death of Tupac Shakur, was sentenced on Tuesday for his involvement in a jailhouse fight.
Davis, who is currently being detained as he awaits trial for the Tupac murder case, was sentenced to a minimum of 16 months and a maximum of 40 months after a jury found him guilty of fighting in jail, KNTV reported. Davis was, however, given credit for time served.

Davis was convicted after the jury found him guilty of battery by a prisoner and challenges to fight. As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, Davis’ legal woes mounted last year after he and a fellow inmate at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas got into a physical altercation.

Per TMZ, Davis got into a “mutual combat” with the other inmate by “throwing closed fist strikes.” The other inmate was reportedly put in a headlock by Davis during the fight.
Reports also stated that a corrections officer had to discharge pepper spray on the two brawling inmates before their fight was ultimately broken up. In the wake of the fight, Davis, who was ultimately charged with battery by a prisoner, is said to have told officers that he was “just standing his ground.”

Tupac was 25 when he was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996. He succumbed to his injuries on September 13.

Davis, a suspect long on investigators’ radar, has openly acknowledged his presence in the Cadillac during the fatal drive-by shooting of Tupac. In his 2019 memoir, Compton Street Legend, Davis detailed his involvement. He also claimed in the book that he provided the murder weapon.

Davis’ arrest in September 2023 also came on the heels of a police raid on his wife’s Henderson residence, during which authorities sought evidence related to Shakur’s killing, according to CBS News.
The police seized various items during the raid, including multiple computers, a cellphone, a hard drive, a Vibe magazine featuring Tupac, 40-caliber bullets, photograph-filled containers, and a copy of Davis’ 2019 memoir.

Following his arrest, Las Vegas police homicide Lt. Jason Johansson said Davis was the “shot caller for this group of individuals that committed this crime,” adding that the suspect “orchestrated the plan that was carried out.”
CrimeTenant Sells Landlord’s 4-bedroom Duplex For ₦83 Million, Disappears With Money by Kontrol97(op): 3:41pm On Sep 05, 2025
Drama unfolds as tenant sells landlord’s 4-bedroom duplex for ₦83 million, disappears with money.
According to the lawyer, the tenant had been living in the property for seven years.

Speaking further, he stated that the tenant forged documents, which included deed of assignment, survey plan, and receipt from the Okota family, to convince a buyer to purchase the property.
After payment, the tenant requested a four-month extension to vacate the property, claiming he needed time to find a new settlement.

The fraud was exposed after the agent discovered a tenant claimed ownership, contradicting its rental status.

Meanwhile, the property owner has returned to Nigeria, and the case is currently under police investigation.

Emphasizing the importance of inquiry, the lawyer cautioned, “Verify property before buying. Don’t be a victim of land scammers or house purchase scammers”.
CelebritiesCourt Orders Two DNA Tests On Late Mohbad’s Son by Kontrol97(op): 5:50am On Sep 03, 2025
The Magistrate Court in Ikorodu has directed that two Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) tests be carried out on Liam Aloba, the son of late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
Magistrate Adefisoye Sonuga issued the order on Tuesday while ruling on an application filed by the singer’s father, Joseph Aloba, who sought a paternity test.

The late Mohbad’s wife, Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, was listed as the respondent in the application brought under the Family Court of Lagos State (Civil Procedure) 2012 and the Magistrate Courts (Civil Procedure) Rules 2009.

The application requested that samples be taken from the remains of the deceased at the Military Hospital in Yaba for use in conducting the tests, either within Lagos or in another recognised facility outside the state.
It further sought approval for a separate test to be conducted abroad at the applicant’s expense.

In court filings, Aloba argued that uncertainty about Liam’s paternity made it necessary to conclusively settle the matter, stressing its importance for maintenance obligations and the child’s welfare.
At the hearing, Aloba was represented by Augustine Adegbemi from the chambers of Dr Wahab Shittu (SAN) & Co., while Kabir Akingbolu appeared for the respondent. The application was moved without opposition, leading the magistrate to grant the request.
The court directed that the tests be conducted in accredited hospitals in Nigeria and abroad, with both parties or their representatives present during sample collection.

The matter was adjourned to November 11, 2025, for further proceedings.

OT2024:
She didn’t flinch or pull away, but neither did she respond. Her silence lingered in the room like incense smoke after a prayer. I didn’t push further.

I stepped out into the corridor with a strange lightness in my step. The compound seemed suddenly friendlier, as though the air itself had shifted. The heavy silence that had once hung over everything like a bad omen now felt more like a gentle hush, the calm after a minor storm.

Amazing, I thought to myself, a small laugh catching in my throat. Women must truly be remarkable creatures. Just minutes ago, Ms. Kay had been adamant—certain that the bra I’d found wasn’t hers. Her voice had been firm, her gaze steely. And now, after a bit of sincere explanation and what I could only hope had been genuine transparency, she had agreed. Just like that. It felt like a minor miracle.

Wonderful! I thought. May God bless Madam Landlady, wherever she is now! Her words of wisdom, cryptic as they had initially seemed, now rang with quiet clarity in my head: “Just be honest and calm. Women know when a man is telling the truth.”

I reached my door, unlocked it, and stepped into my room with a profound sense of victory. The end was in sight. The long, bizarre hassle of a missing bra—an ordeal that had caused more drama in this compound than three months of faulty plumbing—was nearly behind me. I was moments away from bringing it out, laying it before Ms. Kay, and saying, “Here it is. Case closed.”
This is seriouser than I thought 😂

The white polythene bag sat right where I had left it: on the edge of my bed, half hanging off, like it had been waiting patiently for its cue in a play. I walked over to it confidently, reached for the handle, and picked it up.

And then—I froze.

The bag was too light.

Much too light.

I opened the flap and peered inside.

Nothing.

I blinked, frowning. I turned the polythene bag upside down. Not even a thread dropped out.

Empty.

Jesus.

I stood still for a second, my brain not quite ready to accept what my eyes had just confirmed. A dull panic began to rise inside me. Wait… wasn’t it in here? I’m sure it was. I turned the bag inside out again, checking the corners, smoothing it out against my palm. Still nothing.

“Where did I keep the bra?” I muttered aloud, suddenly frantic.

I moved to the wardrobe and began pulling it open with jerky movements. I tossed shirts and trousers aside, yanked open the bottom drawers. Nothing. I crouched down, yanked up the mattress, shoved my hand along the corners of the bedframe. My heart was beginning to pound like war drums.

I checked behind the cooking gas cylinder, beneath the bed, under the pillows, behind the curtain rod. Still nothing.

Then I did something absurd—I opened the fridge.

Of course there was no bra in there. Just leftover stew in a plastic bowl and half a bottle of soft drink. But I was past the point of logic. I opened the pots in the kitchen rack. Empty. I went to the laundry basket and shook out each item. Still nothing.

The bra! Where the hell was the bra?!

In the peak of desperation, I even lifted the hem of my T-shirt and stared at my own chest, as if by some supernatural mishap I might have worn it without realizing.

I laughed aloud—a dry, frantic sound. That’s preposterous, I thought. How could I, a grown man, possibly wear a bra and not know? But that only served to emphasize how desperate I had become. I was unraveling.

Ms. Kay was waiting.

I had promised her.

The event, which drew a large gathering of traditionalists and cultural enthusiasts, saw the governor renamed as “Orisaseyi Omimakinde,” a title meaning “the traditionalists’ oracle of prosperity.”

This honour was bestowed in recognition of his support for cultural values, religious harmony, and the advancement of traditional institutions in the state.

Isese Day, widely known as the “Traditional Worshipers Day,” is a celebration observed annually to highlight the deep cultural roots and practices of the Yoruba people.
Every year on August 20, traditionalists come together to honour their heritage, perform rituals, and offer prayers to the deities known as the Orishas.

The occasion provides a platform for unity among worshippers and for the wider Yoruba community to preserve their long-standing traditions.

At the 2025 edition, the atmosphere was filled with music, chants, and rituals, as participants adorned themselves in symbolic white attire and regalia, reflecting purity and reverence for their faith.

The highlight of the celebration was the formal christening of Governor Makinde with the name “Orisaseyi Omimakinde.” According to the traditional leaders, the name symbolises prosperity, guidance, and a deep connection between leadership and the spiritual traditions of the land.
The gesture was not just ceremonial but also an expression of gratitude to the governor for his continued recognition of Isese Day as a public event, thereby giving traditional worshippers a sense of inclusion within the broader religious and cultural life of the state.

RomanceWoman Dumps Husband One Year After Spending Huge Sum Of Money On Marriage by Kontrol97(op): 8:17pm On Aug 18, 2025
A businessman, Malam Baballe Ibrahim, has incurred a heavy loss after spending huge sums of money to perform the marriage rites of his wife, Hauwa’u and one year after, the wife dumped him.
The Shari’a Court in Magajin Gari, Kaduna State, has dissolved the marriage between the businessman, Malam Baballe Ibrahim and his wife, Hauwa’u, and the Court ordered the wife to refund him only N120,000 despite the huge sum of money he spent on her.

The embattled husband protested before the Court that since the wife no longer wanted the marriage, she should refund all the money he spent on her before and after the marriage before she filed for divorce.

However, the Court presided over by Malam Kabir Muhammad declined the request but granted the divorce through khul’i (redemption), which allows a woman to end her marriage by refunding the dowry paid by her husband. To that effect, the Court ordered Hauwa’u to return ₦100,000 dowry and an additional ₦20,000 described as Kudin Gaisuwa — money traditionally given to her parents during the introduction ceremony.

The Court also directed Ibrahim to allow his estranged wife to retrieve her belongings from his house and allow peace to reign for the parties go their separate ways.

But Ibrahim has resisted the divorce, insisting that his ex-wife must reimburse not only the dowry but also all he spent on her from the time they began courting until their separation.

He claimed to have spent heavily on her upkeep, including money for skincare, clothing, makeup, and other personal needs.

Despite his demands, the judge clarified that only the dowry and Kudin Gaisuwa were refundable under khul’i. The marriage was officially dissolved, paving the way for Hauwa’u to leave the union legally and independently.

The case underscores the growing number of disputes in Shari’a courts, where disagreements over divorce settlements and financial responsibilities often become contentious issue in the society.

‘Black widow’ who fatally poisoned 11 elderly husbands faces execution

Kolsum Akbari murdered the men for inheritance with the killings going undetected for more than two decades

A woman who poisoned 11 husbands to death over a 22-year period is facing execution in Iran.

Kolsum Akbari, 56, systematically married elderly men before murdering them with diabetes drugs and industrial alcohol to inherit their property and dowries.

The killings went undetected for more than two decades due to victims appearing to die of natural causes because of their advanced age and existing health conditions.

Akbari confessed to the killings and she is awaiting sentencing, with victims’ family members calling for her execution.

The killings began in 2000 and continued until 2023, when the death of her final victim, 82-year-old Gholamreza Babaei, led to her arrest.

Babaei’s son became suspicious after a family friend revealed his own father had previously been married to a woman named Kolsum who had tried to poison him.

The family recognised her as Babaei’s most recent wife and contacted police.

During interrogation, Akbari confessed to the murders, though she gave conflicting accounts as to the number of victims.

“I don’t know how many I killed. Maybe it was 13 or 15 people. I don’t remember exactly,” she said.

Akbari first married at the age of 18 in what relatives described as a brief and unsuccessful union with a man suffering from mental health problems.

Her second marriage was to a much older man with children from a previous marriage. She lived with him in a northern village for years while reportedly suffering repeated beatings from her husband and stepsons.

After his death, Akbari would attend women’s gatherings and express interest in marrying elderly, lonely men.

She would gain access to potential victims through their daughters’ acquaintances and after confirming their financial status, she would agree to marriage with high dowries.

She then gradually poisoned victims with combinations of blood pressure medications, diabetes drugs, sedatives and in some cases industrial alcohol.

When drugs alone proved insufficient, she would suffocate victims with pillows and towels.
