Sure. There were awardees from Anambra state. All the states were represented. |
This year's NYSC President's Honours award had something different added by the offer of 50 automatic employment by Heritage Bank (me no want work for bank oo). Now that we have been decorated by His excellency, past recipients in the house, please share with us necessary information that will be of help in ensuring the fulfillment of the promises- Job and scholarship. What necessary steps should we take?. We look forward to receiving your recommendation. |
yeah the award holds 02 March |
Now that's a million dollar question. We are hoping (praying actually) that the award holds before the election but no one - except the President - can answer that question for now. You should join our whatsapp group - if you haven't - to get minute-by-minute update and meet other award winners too. |
From Friends, Prominent members of the community, the proprietor of the school I was posted to,... seunwen2: |
http://kopastales.com/no-date-yet-for-nysc-presidential-award-winner-for-2014/ The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brig. Gen. J. B. Olawunmi have announced that there is no fixed date yet of the ceremony for the conferment of the Presidential Award for 2014 winners. The announcement came through the scheme’s twitter handle as the DG celebrated his one year in office on January 6th, 2015. The Presidential Award is the apex award of merit for serving corps members who have distinguished themselves in their states of deployment and places of primary assignment, and in Community Development Services (CDS). samuelkaykay: |
catune:Thank you for your response. You will notice I was being circumspect about how probing the questions were so that you won't have to divulge more than necessary. As a recipient of the 2014 award myself, I will be very much obliged if you could however answer some few more questions personally. kindly avail me with your personal contact via 08029812507 or tobshow@yahoo.com |
catune:You are right about that. My motivation all through the project was borne out of the need to positively influence the lives of locals and never expected for once to win the Presidential Award though I was looking forward to being recognized by the state for my efforts (which was actually a secondary reason). As a recipient of this honours and highly coveted Award, can you share with us what the experience has been so far in line with the government's fulfillment of rewards? your present and possibly future aspiration (if that's not asking for too much ). How has the award affected you as a person? (there could be a huge learning point here) ![]() |
Edy12:It is clear that there's no convincing you about the merit of the award. What I find confusing however is the reason(s) for turning down NYSC invitation for training Corps members on camp: you first said (in earlier thread) you were ill at that time, then you mentioned that it was because the project wasn't recognized and now it is due to the aptitude test you had to do that coincided with the orientation. stop confusing yourself biko nu |
Edy12:Did you win a state award for this? |
countsparrow:Well I can assure you that I don't "know all" but one thing I'm sure of is that -believe it or not- award (in my own case) is strictly based on merit. . To be sincere I was once like you and was downbeat about any chance of winning Presidential award - believing it to be based on nepotism and cronyism. The news was met with both surprise and happiness. Allow me to fill you in on some of my projects 1. Computer training (hands on) for a month with over 40 participants (morning and evening sessions, Monday to Friday) 2. In light of poor performance by students in Maths, I organized, for the whole community, two months tutorials on the subject with over 100 students in attendance throughout the duration. 3. Donated 4 fully equipped first aid boxes to four different Schools. 4 De-wormed over 1,000 students of the community 5. hoisted the Nigerian and Cross river flag. 6. Gave 2 brilliant but less-privileged students full scholarship (tuition, books etc) 7. Constructed 9 twin sitter desk and chair 8 Distributed over 500 textbooks, notebooks and writing materials to 3 different schools |
samuelkaykay:Great, what do you recommend as regards the forum? strictly for awardees. mail me your contact pls - adekoya.alashe@gmail.com |
samuelkaykay:The guy is misinformed. pls educate his intelligent ignorance ![]() |
The postponement is not unconnected with the two-day PDP National convention currently holding at the Eagles square. We should look forward to attending the event next week. ![]() |
Unfortunately, the 2014 PNHA scheduled for Dec 9th - 11th has been postponed. Koya86: |
